San Diego Virtua Fighter Competition!

Dude! SD used to come up here for gatherings. I can see going down there if enough people are showing up. Throw a VF5 party! Just need a few weeks notice! I'll bring a set-up, too.

Markman, would you be cool to play a few rounds in one of the upcoming weekends. Wherever you guys normally play is fine.

And Plague, I'll do a few test runs to see the turnout first.. If the numbers are worthwhile, I'm definitely game to host an open SoCal invite. Speaking of which, when's the next big LA gathering?

Trying to resurrect this thread..

Holding a mini gathering this weekend -- 4 of us playing this Saturday, day time. Either in Point Loma or Mission Valley. Shoot me a PM if you want to join! We've got sticks, HD TVs, the works.

Also, besides this, I'm down for weekly training nights. SD Tekken guys, hit me up if you ever want to play.

 

The first San Diego gathering was a success! :>

Turnout included Sebo, sol fiZz (thanks for hosting), All World, SweepTheLeg, and a couple of fiZz's friends who we are trying to bring into the VF fold.

4pm-10pm, with one break for fish tacos.

Next Saturday it's happening again so anyone and everyone (LA, OC, SD, RS people) is invited. Details to come, it will either be at Paul's house again (8E, 163N) or my place (Point Loma).

Hey SweepTheLeg, I think it was a totally fun get together. The setup worked really well with the number of people there.

We had a blast because everyone used different characters and more importantly was willing to learn from everyone else. Our out of town guest Sebo had a killer Vanessa; he utilized a TON of her moves so that she was really exciting to watch. Aaron (don't know your board name!) had a standup Sarah who really knew how to beat my Akira to the punch in most exchanges. SweepTheLeg is a FAST learner. By the time the night was over he was on a crazy winning streak with his Eileen/Jeff duo. Nice work.

Just as I thought I would not play competitively again due to changing times, this past weekend comes along and changes all of that!

Sounds awesome shoobert, I'm totally down for side tourneys during people's evo west trips. Maybe Paul can host, I'll bring snacks, drinks, sticks, and a second set up? I don't mean to push it on you Paul, it's just that your TV/room is ideal!

Let's keep this in mind as it approaches.

Not a problem. I love having guests over, and my roommate is never home during the weekends anyway so there's really no wrong here! I can't do it every weekend unfortunately. I'm thinking every other week for now. How about that?

Dan! Heck yeah, come on down. Sebo gets off work at 4:15, so we could either do an evening session on Saturday or play Sunday when both of us have the day off.

Or maybe both? I'm going out with my lady friend Saturday night, but I'm free from about 2-7 Saturday, all day Sunday.

I'd rather not bug a dude and his girl so I'll plan around sunday, that way if anything is thrown on saturday (say brian or plague) then I can go to that.

If I'm going to drive all the way to SD I would rather play early as I can to get the most out of the trip.

 

How about Sunday at 10:30? Is that too early? Just let me know the time and I'll give you the address. I think it'll be at my place since sol fizz wants to host every other weekend.

It's gonna be fun! You can teach All World some Sarah tricks.

Start planning ahead: next Saturday, June 30th, there is a caravan of SD folks heading up to Brisal's place. I know Sebo and All World are down...

Anyone else is welcome -- just chip in some gas money and we've got room for 1-2 more. Post here or pm me if you want to go, so we can let Brisal know a rough head count.
