San Diego VF4 Scene Revival?

I'd like to thank everyone for coming! It was a great turn out and I hope everyone was pleased. Big thanks to everyone in my crew who helped run the tournament.

I hope the SD tournament series continues to grow and maybe next time we can have a larger scale tourney with more people and bigger prizes.

SD FIGHT CLUB was a huge success last week almost doubling the amount of people we had the previous week! I hope you guys consider showing up to play some games this week from 7 p.m. - midnight.

$6 for unlimited play on any fighting game that's available!

Bring your own controllers/joysticks. Also if the game you want to play requires a memory card, bring that too!

ARRRRRRR! I got Evo today! Yipee! Jeffery looks hella fatter in evo I think... Anyway the new , (on hit) (?) Move was pretty cool and the , is a nice addition too... And the added sound for low throw is cool.

Didn't check out other modes than Practice command as I was checking out Goh, Brad, Jeffery, and Lion...

Lion seems to have orangish hair now...

 

Markman I am sure you are aware of the fires in San Diego and the area.... ummmm is the area affected?

Mine sure is... I could see the fire line from my house... it's midnight and the sky over there is darkish orange.

I'll be visiting SD for a week and a half... so I'm thinking about going to the session held on the 19th.

Not confirming yet, and I would definitely like to meet up with some of the VFers in the area before going to that session, but it sounds like a nice idea and I'm glad you guys are doing well with it.

How many people have been playing VF at the Fight Club sessions?

i'm down to play whenever. the fight club is pretty cool. lots of big screens. unfortunately vf play is scarce. if you or anybody in diego can get a gathering together at gamelords or elsewhere, that would be great. it's kinda been awhile since i've played vf, but your post has certainly got me wanting to play. peaceout.

yea... if anyone in SD wants to come, we're going to set up something at my place, which is right next to San Diego State. We're looking at Monday afternoon-night. Just to chill/hang out and play some VF. Unfortunately we only have one TV, PS2 and stick at this point. The more stuff the merrier. Woah_its_eric: it would be cool if you could hang out. Looks like Chris can make it and although Tenchi's working, he might be able to hang out after.

hell yeah i'm down to play and my little bro ain't doing anything. i could bring my stick, but it's sort of messed up right now. there's a delay on the kick button. i gotta figure out how to fix it, somehow. i could bring in my ps2 also, but it too is a pos that takes awhile for vf to load. peace.

lol...it's all good man. i took the asswhuppin you gave me as an indication that i have a long way to go. it's kind of intimidating facing a guy that can take you out with practically any character. i had fun nonetheless, it sucked losing, but it was alright. i look at it this way, anyone i can play besides my brothers and the computer is a plus, even if my ass is getting kicked. and playing against you i can see what i'm doing wrong and where i can improve. peace.

 

Hehe... we're competitive enough with 4 people =)

Actually, I feel like since I've been playing with Alex, I'm really understanding more how to mix it up and be a better player. Thanks for the advice. Also thanks to Eric and Chris for making the trip, we'll do it again sometime! =)
