Yeah... don't remind me lol. If you look at the joystick motions I was trying for a 270 throw but I did the joystick motion too early and ended up with P+G which he escaped....

Monte was filled with lower ranks since everyone was at Beat Tribe. This player was actually one of the few female VF players that I've met in Japan. To head off questions that will undoubtably be asked...

1. Yes, she's cute. Her makeup and hairdo is exactly like her Eileen's in this picture.
2. Yes, she has a boyfriend.
3. Yes, she plays a lot. She has 6000 matches on her Eileen alone, and another 6000 on her Sarah card lol.

Round 1: I didn't know you could sabaki the second kick of Eileen's jump kick... weird. I've never tried to sabaki that kick in general though so I don't know if you can sabaki the first kick.

Round 2: I screwed up the 2_8K+G... I should've realized that if she had techrolled towards the screen, it would've been a worse position for her since she'd be near the ring edge. Either way it didn't matter because all she did was crouch after the roll. Still, it cost me the match here.

Round 3: In general, after 33P+G, I alternate between a punch and ground throw. If I ground throw all the time then it's more likely to be broken because the player is expecting it, but if I do a ground punch every so often, it keeps them guessing a bit more IMO.

Round 4: Roll into neutral K has been one of my favorite things to do in a match. I have to admit that I got a little too close for comfort here but luckily the kick still hit.

Watching the Lion vs Eileen vid I saw that 6P+K,K (wall) seems to guarantee a 8P+K (wall), pounce for nice damage, I didn't know that. Good stuff.

It might guarantee an uppercut into pounce, but I don't know... I don't think you can struggle out of it though, so...

Round 1: After the 46P knockdown combo I should've done the input for the 3K+G hit throw but for some reason I didn't bother. That definitely would've put me in a better position, considering I ate a fucking gay ass knee right after and lost the round lol.

Round 2: Check the input after 33P+G... talk about fucking up easy damage!

Round 3: I totally flubbed up the combo after 33P. One of the things I have trouble with is remembering what combos work with what weight, and that cost me the round here.

Round 5: 4PK to the rescue!

The ground throw is never guaranteed. But it's not a bad idea to try it as sometimes people might get lazy. I know I do..

Do you mean that the ground throw will not always hit, or it's not guaranteed because it can be broken? If it's the latter then I know about that, but just like you said, some people get lazy about breaking ground throws, especially if they think the person isn't going to try it.

I'm not well-versed on who are the best Sarah players in the country, but YOU is definitely one of the top from what I've heard. He also plays other characters at a high level. Very strong opponent. The fourth round of this match was definitely pure luck lol.

I competed in my first Open Battle this past weekend (same time as SF4 was released) and I did fairly well, actually. Because I split my time between VF5 and SF4 I ended up getting 20th out of 60-ish entries. This was the first match, and I actually ended up with a high of 3rd place because of this (this Vanessa was in first at the time) and the following match when I beat her two straight. Sadly because I wasn't playing as much as the other guys my rank started to drop as others played more matches...

Last regular VF5 vid! The service seems to be down now to prep for VF5R so this is the last replay I was able to take. I had a bunch of matches at both Monte and Avion that I wanted to save but I couldn't because the function is down. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Oh well, come Thursday I'll have some R replays ready to go!
