Those two bands have nothing in common, albeit popularity in Germany. Seriously.

 

That might be true but I hear their songs played together at the clubs I go to.

I don't consider Rammstein as a typical "metal" band. Their music has a EBM/ industrial kick to it which go hand in hand with VNV's synthpop in my opinion.
