Quest Mode Insights & Balloon Trick

Recently whenever I use the balloon trick I cant get anything other than money to pop up. I have like 94 percent of the items for the character Im playing. Can I only get money cause theres nothing else for it to give me?

 

Possibly. You may need item tournaments and rank items as well. What rank are you at right now?

(I'm assuming everything in the shop has been bought and all orb discs have been filled)

Im a Veteran right now. Ive filled out all the orb discs, but theres are still a few things I haven't bought from the shop yet. I definitely need alot of the tournament items though. Do you know where I can get complete item lists for all the characters(most importantly Brad). Oh and while were at it do you know how to get the last three rivals at Sega World Coast to show up?

 

Veteran is pretty low named rank. Conqueror is the highest you can get. You get some items for a few of the different ranks.

As for the item lists, sorry, but I can only provide the ones for Wolf and Vanessa.

The last three opponents usually don't show up until after you've beaten the World Tournament Finals (last official tournament). Go on to the next arcade and keep fighting until you unlock it. After the credits roll, go back in to the first arcade and hopefully they should appear.

The last three opponents are:

Aoihime, Defender, Aoi
Huntress, Defender, Vanessa
Eos, Hunter, Pai (Emblem - Jobs 2)

 

i tried the balloon trick and it worked once. i tried 1s, 3s, 7s and 9s several times. strange. what am i doing wrong?

 

It doesn't work every time. Get to _6 wins and _7 losses and save your quest. Win one more and see if the balloon is there. If it isn't, exit out of quest mode (with autosave off) and load it up again. Keep trying until it works and always stop at 6/7 in this same manner.

 

Yeah, what 4hire said is exactly what I do, just stop once you get to the next 6 and exit to the arcade and save, then just get the baloon going and do it again

There's only 10 items in the item tournaments. I thought that there would be loads I haven't got but you'll get 10 in no time...well, around 15 hours.

 

I never knew about this balloon trick before, I'm definitely going to try this out now! ^_^

ive done it at mulitiple numbers, but i have yet to see a baloon how often does it appear

 

Fairly regularly.

Make sure you've done everything correct.

Have your losses end in seven and your wins in six.

Save your game.

Win a match.

Exit to arcade screen.

Go to full map.

If there is no baloon quit to dashboard.

Restart game and win one match.

Check for baloon again.

When you get a baloon only play until your wins end in a six again.

Exit to arcade screen.

Save your game.

Rinse & repeat!

 

I would like to clarify:
Do you mean to get Sega Coast completion that you also have to get the completion for Downtown as well? Or just fight some more until the tourney?

I'm hoping I wont have to have all the other arcades done to 100% before the last 3 show up at the beginner's arcade? Otherwise I'm miles away from my achievement. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

 

I haven't read all 8 pages but:
You actually don't need to wait for the balloon to fly on top of your chosen arcade, when I see it appearedon the right top, I immediately get into the left side beginner arcade, 10 item battles still triggered.

 

I'm only at like 60% in terms of items, but unfortunately I only got one item match that ended up being an actual item the last time I played, with the other thirty or so all being gold. Is there any way to have more of the item matches actually produce items? Also, I don't buy much in the store (typically just the few things I like), so I just wanted to make sure that didn't have anything to do with it, and that I don't need to buy a bunch of items I don't want. Thanks.

 

PS3 Quest mode - Balloon trick

Completed all the orb items. And I seem to only be winning gold now. I think I've won only gold for the last 30 matches or so.

Is this normal? Have I exhausted all of the items that can be won from quest mode? I've racked up a total of some 300 matches....

And while I haven't bought up the entire shop yet, it'd be nice if there were more items to win.
