haha I actually have problems with general ripper in kage mirrors, he just goes nuts and I never anticipate he will have the balls to do the things he does. I win almost every time but he never ceases to surprise me with his balls out risky actions.

the flipping drop kick he tends to do randomly from distance that goes over lows is +1 on block and he always always does 2p after it, you can usually evade that 2p and punish him for it, if you block it he usually follows it up with something else risky so you can probably get a counter hit on him. That 2p after the flip kick is actually a bad autopilot habit I have myself haha.

he also does a cartwheel move that stays grounded from a similar range that he does the flip, unlike the flip the cartwheel is totally punishable :)

forgive me if you know all this :) just spreading the little anti risky kage knowledge around so people can beat me up!

nah, screw that. I play Chamame in rank, Gentlementhief (before he vanished) Salam, Koenraku, etc...and they have always given me pointers, tips, and everything in between. VF is a game with a higher level of respect/honor, and unless he doesn't speak english or some other valid excuse, he gets no respect. And yeah, learning to break throws is a big part of the game, but if you lack in that particular aspect of your defense, wolf can just rape you in two wrong guesses? I'm sorry, fair or not fair I just can't respect the throw game, once I get used to it I'm sure my mind will change, but if just feels like easy wins for characters with low throws that do all that damage. I put the other top players even on PSN above him, though he is very solid.

On the Kage flip kick, I'm glad I played Elite so much, he uses it properly (sparingly) but other Kage online always abuse that it's + on frames, I just do Lions 8KK for free damage. They never stop though lol. Seeing a lot of Goh's online, his abare tools are really starting to tick me -_-

Anyone mastered Jack's snap kick 6KG on pad? I'm learning him, but that move is like essential to playing him well and I can't get it out consistently...Very annoying, cuz it's such a fun move!

Didn't get to play much today but, ggs to kronicblast, JudyJetsonsDildo (lol...), Zekiel, and Black General!

Haha, I noticed the constant use of 2P after that move as well! Was trying catch him in CH from a mid after that move, but punishing 2P is always good. Honestly I had expected that flip to be at least -5 or -7 on guard based on what it does but, +1? Hmm....ok lol!!! Its nice to know now, though! Thanks for the tips! :)

    haha no problemas

yeah I use it myself and I still sometimes find myself thinking I can counter hit kages next move with my own 2p sometimes lol. It does have a pretty slow startup (30 frames I think) so if you expect it you can always just jab him out of it and leave him floating in the air for a free huge combo, but I don't have the confidence to try and react to it online myself.

EDIT: ggs to everyone I ran into in ranked, nice to witness your jean for myself GT, might be the most overwhelmed I've ever felt in a VF match yet lol. I don't think I learned a damn thing even after several rematches! ggs truewiseman, also quite overwhelmed, even when clearly just being trolled, dayam.

Yup! I'm sure it's done at this point without much thought.

You have 2 type of steps that you do. One usually at the end of a round which looks kind of like a celebration dance with you moving up into the screen canceling your evades extremely fast. Honestly you are probably the only one who can do it at this insane speed with very clean command input so it looks smooth at silk. Almost VF4-ish stepping.

The other is when you are making good reads and you know you have your opponent confused and holding that block. :p When you have them in this sort of frenzy state you add a variation of the above step. Once I see that I know it's you 100% because as I said there is no one else with the exception of Dennis who can or has ever stepped like that.

Doing it is very easy as it's pretty much box stepping from VF4. However, due to how canceling works in the VF5 series the hard part is entering the command as quickly and as clean as possible without wasting frames at places such as [9] to [8] or all those odd directions that's not really needed. I can do it with a little practice, but sadly my hands aren't what they used to be so I cannot keep it up as long as GT or do it as smoothly. It used to be harder in Vanilla from what I can tell because every character seemed to move / walk at different speeds. I don't think that exist in FS now so I'm sure if you practice it and get the timing down you can do it with anyone.

    The command is:

[6][6][8][6][6] repeat as much as you like, but just do it very quickly and clean. At any point you can change [8] to [2] if you choose.

LA Akira had this one video he shared with me of this Akira player (can't remember name) who could step beyond anything you could ever imagine. It was a crazy sick video because he was using stepping to perfectly space, attack and defend. Seriously I've never seen anything like it since Minami Akira from VF4 days. Maybe if LA reads this post and still has it he will share the video.

hahaha yeah I spotted you to after like 2 games. :p

So who is this InfoRatio everyone keeps talking about? Kamais thought it was me, but it's not. Is this person playing on PSN or XBL? I just need 3-4 games and I can figure out who it is. :D

I think might have been R, but it doesn't matter. What matters is entering the command very clean and with perfect timing. Like I said it's not hard to do. It's just hard to keep up and also do at the drop of a hat. GT however has the knack for it now and can just do it at will.

He couldn't do it at first when he started playing Vanilla, but sometime around the last 1.5 years of Vanilla he just started doing it. Obviously it's something he worked on very hard so it's no surprise that only he can do it.

Dennis can do it too, but I don't think it's something he worked on much. He is just a natural.

With the analog buttons on pad it's gonna be harder. I use a stick and can get it probably 95% of the time "OFFLINE". Depending on the lag my percentage goes down with every bar of decreased connectivity. I'll sit in dojo and practice it for hours. If i'm in flow-chart mode I'll usually follow it up on hit with db+p+k,p,p(or k if the wall is attainable). Honestly at high lvl it's a really good fuzzy breaker,if someone is reactionary fuzzying and this kick is blocked it's like sending up a flaming bat signal of opportunity. Throw or mid instantly is a wonderful way to make a heavy fuzzy dependent player lockup.

    Things I practice offline:

    snap kick f,b throw
    snap kick kickflip(for juggles)
    snap kick db p+k,p,p

GG's Piccolo and wonkykick(lol at the name) and hujjakilla(avenger rank, goh) think i spelled that right.

Starting to think it was GT, because I remember those stepping, and..the use of that guard break toryu tenshin hazankai even with lag...

I definitely didn't train for it! I don't actually use training mode outside of discovering things, so it probably just developed over time. I remember feeling like my Goh playstyle would easily turn him into a statue so I set out to change that.

InfoRatio is not Rodnutz or any of the VFDC usuals I think. His playstyle is most similar to Cha-mame3's. And it's not me...really!

EDIT : InfoRatio can't be me because I've played against InfoRatio!
