maybe it's just because you're really good and impose more fear into your opponents than i do, but whenever i play BG_Akira, he doesn't give me any breathing room.

 

GG's Nomas, Tirip, and MFB, was cool stuff as usual

 

He plays faster than a lot of people, and utilizes his characters' strengths a lot. When he's playing with Kage, for example, he abuse the fact that he has a never-ending supply of safe string-into-stance-into-more-string-into-more-stance crap and just keep poking at you with half-finished strings into throws or a tight defence and it makes it really hard to land anything. When he's playing with Goh or Jeffry, he'll look for patterns in your defence and offence and go for the high-reward options to make you fear using those things again. If he sees you like to throw after landing that stagger-on-guard move, he'll toss out Goh's knee or Jeff's TKoD and get a nice half-bar damage on you, or if he sees you like to maintain a guard whenever he initiates part of a string, he'll stop and throw you (and annoyingly, the first time you decide to attack after guarding part of the string, he'll finish it and land the last hit as a CH. I think he takes 'be psychic' lessons from Nomas).

As an aside, GGs to the people I played in ranked today. Sorry my scrubby Goh isn't much of a challenge (I get too focused on 3K). I actually had a demotion match as my last of the session. Luckily I won it, but I'm hovering dangerously close to the mark at the moment - might have to play a few days of Jacky 7K spam to get some movement on the meter.

 

Slim pickings in Ranked tonight, but ggs to Rally2040 again, that dudes got a mean Aoi.

Hanwiz seems to be back playing Sarah. His Pai seemed stronger though.

Yeah, I've been playing Goh for a couple of weeks now. Still not as good with him as I am with Jacky, and it's very nearly cost me a demotion a few times. Pulis was like 20HP away from finishing me on a 3-2 match that would have sent me down a rank. I need to find a decent-ranked player that's crappy and will let me pound on them for an hour!

Getting demoted because of crappy lag is crappy. Apparently it changes the rules so that 19 frame moves are faster than 14 frame moves, and 2P always beats everything always no matter what. Back down to a scrubby Avenger now, which is annoying - I just want to get to the first title that has one of those fancy backgrounds and I'll be happy, but I keep losing with Goh because the lost frames in laggy matches make all his stuff not work.
