GG guys. Too bad it was so laggy yesterday, we were dropping a lot of stuff. We need to get some more sarah players and have a full room of sarah matches or something.

That set was epic and it helped to gauge how my current Van training is going. It is getting there but there is still some work to be done before she can rank up there with my Pai but at least she is 1 step closer in the right direction in that area at least.

GGs earlier today to Elite and Pana. Nice room.

I felt like I was getting better, then got bodied numerous times. I'm starting to feel more and more that Sarah got the short end of the stick when it comes to "cool attacks that evade other attacks".

Still fun stuff. Elite, I'll start beating you on a regular basis one of these days.

Her 3P+K Slap is about the only evasive move she has, overall she's very limited, which would be fine if her damage output was higher. The only thing she really excels at is wiff punishment and low crush, as High Jab, Low Jab, and Elbow are probably her best tools.

You really need to be able to apply efficient pressure to stay at + frames with Sarah via flamingo, since her damage is so pitiful. You also need to be able to execute her just frames and guard crush hit throw from FL to keep people off balance. Good defense in spots as well of coarse, since she can't get insanely massive damage like Jacky. Character knowledge and knowing your opponents are more important with Sarah then some of the other character for the above reasons.

if you really wanna get upset run through the entirety of Jacky's command training and look at everything that they gave him. Most of which is not needed since he gets catastrophic damage. Which is why i can get easier wins with him then a character i've used since VF4. Good stuff Sega.

When playing against her I find her main strengths are her range (whiff punishing) and ability to apply pressure as long as you dont get predictable. I would say most of you need to start throwing more often (she makes me want to evade or just yutori a LOT once she gets the advantage and you need to force me out of it) and make sure you keep things frame tight often (use 3P+K from +4 and dont get greedy etc so I cant just 2P my way out of stuff, I should be scared to). Flamingo is nice as long as you (again) dont get predictable. I'm sure it's free wins in ranked when people just keep attacking into your gut crumple kick all day but vs someone who at least kinda knows what's up then your goal(s) should be stopping evade and/or 2p.

Her damage doesn't seem low at all to me unless you wanna compare it to wolf/jacky etc but then most of the cast can say the same thing.

    I think she is fine.

and GGs brodi, you seem to be improving for sure.

Akira, Wolf, Jacky, Taka, Vanessa, Jean, Lau, Goh, Jeffry, Lei Fei, and Blaze (to an extent), all have better damage...

Other than that i'd agree with most all of your above points. Her throw game is rather weak and not a strong point, I use them alot, but they are another low damage option for her. She is ok and better than VF5 Vanilla, she would be fine if they left throws in flamingo, instead of putting them in a useless step stance. Step gives a free launch for large damage, to anyone who is paying attention, the same goes for her Foward Slide, which also gives a free launch to anyone who pays attention. Also it's hard not to be predictable with such a limited set of moves. Plus a decent portion of few moves she does have leave her at an unacceptable disadvantage.

But Shou (Sarah) covered all of this before the game was even released in the U.S. on consoles.

I agree with a lot of what you and Baz are saying (though a discussion can be had on her damage output...I personally think it's rather low when you consider what few tools she has to work with).

Not becoming predictable with her is also a task because unless I'm in Flamingo I'm not applying pressure. And once in Flamingo I don't really have a lot of options available to me. I either go for the gut crumple for moderate combo damage (sidestep), I can go for the low sweep just to keep you guessing (block and punish massively if predictable), K+G to get the sidesteppers (2P magnet), or step -> throw (almost never lands unless you are asleep).

Not much to work with. But, I love her and will make the best of what she has. Just hoping she gets a much needed buff in VF6. Why Sega decided to take her throws out of FL is beyond me...

Also, Elite, your Kage gives me heartburn .....but you already knew that, I'm sure...

Fun room with Brodiman, Modelah, unicorn, Phoxx, and the other player whose handle I forget. Unicorn and I kept playing for maybe an hour after the room died. Fuck Wolf's wall combos.

Just look at our recent matches and look at her damage. You were doing 60% damage in the middle of the ring. For me to get over 50% with sarah I need a wall. Almost everyone can get more damage than her anywhere they want.

She also has moves that are worthless like her slides which although she isn't attacking still leave her open to counter hit damage. Trust me, ask any Sarah player and they will tell you she does no damage for the amount of work she requires. And why does Jacky's identical flip kick do double the damage she does?

What's this 60% damage from the middle of the ring? Kage's damage is one of the worst..

I agree with Elite on Kage's damage 110%. I find it to be about the same as Sarah's, and very low for FS (you see I didn't include him in the 11 characters with higher damage that I listed). Kage has many more moves, more effective stances, Sarah only has Flamingo, the others are free launches, or whichever punish you choose. Kage is a skill character imo and requires lots of work and yomi to win with. Jacky on the other hand is shit easy and i've been owning people in ranked with him, with two command list combos and 14 frame punish for abare. Everyone knows of his idiotic damage so once you throw out a flip kick they start sitting on block, free throws all day. When they get tired of being thrown and try to attack you can side step or back dash kick flip.

Not much reason for a lot of things in FS MFB, it is what it is..

    Very GG's Elite, thanks!
Taka is such a hard matchup, requires a lot of patience and character knowledge. Will definitely be trying to get more matches in, very challenging stuff.
