Ain't no way I can ever agree with this. It sounds like you don't play Marvel at all (Unless you're talking about TvC2, I don't play that shit). I wouldn't call it a "consistency" issue, more like a quality issue. All other games I've played have worse hitboxes compared to VF, worse offenders go to any game made by Namco. If you want a ton of examples, go to youtube and watch LianhuBBB's "Funny and cool moments videos. He's on volume 60-something. Tons of much weirder hitbox and collision issues than nearly anything we see in VF.

I'll happily agree that there are some moves that have ridiculous hitboxes but there is no way that I could ever agree that the hits in VF are less consistent than other games.

I'm more than happy to play Marvel with my Task(H.Arrows)/Dorm (Hole)/Doom (Beam) team or Chris (Gun) / Dante (Jam) / Strider (Vajra) team. I've been playing pretty consistently since day 1 of vanilla. Also, as a pretty regular contributor of little things you can do in the game via SRK posts and videos such as below, I laugh at your accusation. After 2 min mark, basically just slow mow so people can see the mechanics:

I never said anything about worse or better in terms of quality. Yes Virgil's hitboxes are stupid as all hell. Yes, Soulcalibur has some of the weirdest collision issues I've ever seen. Yes, you see many Ultras whiff in SF for no apparent reason. However, more often than not, the times when things that happen in LiangHuBBB (spelled with a "g") video series occur, they are extreme corner cases or true glitches. As in the positioning of the characters is rare enough that no one has actually tested why something occurs or it is clearly visible that the rules are broken. However, they consistently whiff or glitch, are replicable and explainable by the mechanics of the game. Best example was the Ivy hitting Mitsurgi ring out glitch, which occurs around 47 seconds in:

With the hit box and momentum mechanics of the game, you could easily understand why it happen. Ivy's launcher attack and the upward momentum of Mitsu's attack, pushed the momentum too high for the game's gravity mechanics and therefore resulted in the glitch. However, like I said before it was replicable as many people tested it to find it consistent.

When I'm talking about inconsistent, I'm talking about not being replicable. As in the same situation results in different results each time. I'm talking about Sarah's [6][6][K] hitting people when the replay clearly shows that there was no contact made during a basic oki situation I've seen 1000 times. I've tested a lot of Sarah's moves many times for things like this against a lot of the cast. Some of the time, it is replicable and I'm okay with that since it is consistent. Other times, and Sarah's [6][6][K] is the best example of this for me since I main Sarah, there is no discernible reason why the attack whiffs or connects.

BGS to SlaughterOC. You loooove to talk shit over the mic. Your Lei-Fei is low budget as fuck. 10361 points of lame is what you are, dude. Hold those losses.

This coming from a juggle abuser. It's cheap to use moves that lead to inescapable damage. But only if they launch. Strings and throws are okay.

BGs to Call1800GankAHo, I know for a fact that you're connection is fucked. Full 3 bars yet the game performed like someone trying to run Crysis on a Dos machine. Hardwire your shit and keep people off the network if you're trying to play rank, fuck.

lol I love that dood, he talked sooo much shit on the mic totally unprovoked one day(was just playing ranked with no mic plugged in) , then I wiped the floor with him. Next match, more shit talk about how lucky I was and what not.... destroyed again, then I was greeted with hate mail about how I am a noob because I dick punched him out of his leifei button mash dance. I was bored so I spent the time to carefully and in full detail explain why his ego is unearned because he has no understanding of the game and how he wouldn't be so mad if he didn't feel the need to talk a bunch of shit he could never live up to before the game started.

Regarding the hitboxes, hasn't that information been printed in Japanese magazines, like they've done with virtually every other fighting game since 1992? I found and posted one with Jeff in the shoutbox the other night, but couldn't manage to locate any more on the jp blogs.

    EDIT: thankfully cached in chrome

Hey I'm not mad or anything and I usually don't do bad games but, bgs to all of the shun players that I have been fighting recently. I'm sorry but I don't like him, and I don't know why you guys are using him. He is just an old ass man, surely there are some cooler characters to choose from. Am I really supposed to believe that everyone like him? No you don't like him nice try, stop trying to get lucky all the time.

I hate that old drunk bastard.

However, to be fair, I don't think it's Shun that's an asshat, I think it's the scrubby bullshit rank players that just make it a habit to use him in the most annoying way possible. Everyone does the same bs [P] strings, the same low/high kick that knocks down, the same lunging head dive, etc etc etc. Then when that doesn't work, they sit on the other side of the ring taking drinks...

In general, it's not Shun that's annoying, it's ranked mode in its entirety.

In all seriousness, Banok and Dennis might be the only PSN players to use him well. Play against them.

EDIT: Actually, there's a couple of others. I just can't remember their names. I think one was a Lionheart the last I fought him, and the other is Le-Ang-Yah or something.

Le-Ang Yeoh and Banok are the only Shuns I can stand to play against. Others are just rage inducing...
