Yep u can ask akai he can send u the brackets for the circuits that I was in. I got 2nd place in one of them and third place in another. when I got second it was shidosha who beat me for first place but I beat him back in rank afterwards, so there u go and I am only getting better.

2)2nd or 3rd is not 1st
3)Placing 2nd or 3rd in one online bracket of an ongoing league is not the same as winning an offline tournament.

i don't care who is in the bracket, if i win a bracket sooner than a Stormlord (and i have), something ain't right.

I just read this entire thread, a daunting task not only for its sheer length but because of all the sandy vaginas who populate it. Glad to see I wasn't mentioned at all, though.

Anyway I've got one of my own. For the past several weeks VaneKBM - a Jean player of considerable skill - had been challenging me relentlessly, no doubt because he's clearly a superior player and was trying to rank up to Assassin. He won the vast majority of our matches, until tonight he finally got promoted. Immediately after he doesn't bother to challenge me, oddly enough. So I take the initiative and challenge him. By some miracle I've got him down two rounds to none and about to win the third, when he hops to the other side of the ring and disconnects. He's a rank whore.

 

i will say this: your slight spamminess got frustrating at times (but that's more of a bad reflection on me since i couldn't adjust properly in a lot of our matches and i also get spammy at times, which i have to admittedly work on), but you don't lag and you don't DC, so i don't think playing you constitutes a bad game.

for the rest of your post, i haven't seen or played VaneKBM yet but that sounds typical of someone who wants to rank up only and not improve. i don't even come across many Assassin+ ranked players anymore unfortunately.

as you may find here on VFDC, rank could mean very little compared to the player's actual skill. in fact, few here play ranked mode on a regular enough basis anymore, or at least on PSN (in fact, most of my online play is now in player match or room match).

I've never claimed to be The Best VF Player In The World, or even the best Aoi/Eileen out there. So when I host Ranked matches with my some near-2000 odd wins and 648 or so losses, I just do it for the hell of it and pray to the Fighting Game gods the match runs smoothly (being PSN and all). It's cool that some of you knuckleheads want to see your little replays of each round of you barely beating my horrible HORRIBLE Eileen. Hell, it's even better when Eileen turns around and cold-cocks ya and you skip through the replay like it's the most horrible thing on the face of the planet. I've even talked smack in the rooms and ended up eating a lot of my words, it happens However, if you're going to get ran over by me in most of the matches you're in and get through 2 wins out of 7 matches by the skin of your teeth; feel free NOT to call me a loser when you spent most of the period looking like a bigger punk than some of the regular residents of the BG Thread. Oh, last thing: Win or lose - Service with a Green Smile, doods.

 

Since when was your Eileen horrible seriously man you are such a terrible liar. I am horrible for losing to all these random tactics I see in ranked that it gets on my last nerve. I would say BGs to myself but from my point of view I would call it something far worse than a simple BGs message to myself. If there was a word for it I would like to know what it is because I can't think of a word that negative about my crappy play in ranked matches. It is a good thing too because I would hate to hear it. if your Eileen is horrible I would love to hear what your opinion of your Aoi is

 

Something I noticed about you is that you seem not to notice a lot of things I am trying to make you notice (ie lead you into future setups). Whether this is intentionally refusing to be conditioned or not I'm not sure but it seems like you simply don't see it a lot of the time.

It feels more like you have already decided what you're going to do a lot of the time regardless of what happens prior. This might lead to missing the weaknesses in a lot of tactics "one-trick-pony" players use.

That's just from my perspective and I could be mistaken. I just know that I tend to strip my game down to frame tight/safe stuff like 23_P from +4 since I'm never sure exactly when you have decided you're going to attack regardless and I get tired of eating everything from jabs to launchers when I had the advantage lol.

Also, don't mistake this for saying abare is bad or anything. I just get the feeling you don't know why you do things sometimes.


@Nomas. I think playing Eileen has definitely upped your game overall. Less Aoi specific defensive techniques to fall back on seems to have improved other things like fuzzy guarding and basic but powerful things like getting your side crumples against reckless opponents. I think if you can somehow combine that back into the way you used to play Aoi it would be very hard to defeat.

I still like your Aoi as your best character. Your Eileen has some nice mixups but I get the feeling you are mostly having fun using a character you can go balls to the wall with. You definitely don't suck with her though

On topic: Haven't had any BGs to report since I haven't really had and Gs period lately.
