Maybe somebody with a techie background can tell me how easy itwould be to 'patch' the AI. Sounds difficult to me but maybe Im wrong. Seriously I highly doubt there wil be a patch. No games developers release patches unless they fix major problems/crashes. Thats because it would take the piss to release a game that people cant play properly. very rarely will a developer release a patch just to help out the community, especially if they dont have to work on similar bug patches at the same time. Really sucks, but thats my view on it.

Or is your life singling out people who threaten your own securities yours? I've been a part of the vf community long enough to express myself when I see fit. If you don't like it, just don't read my posts. If you have a constructive response outside of insults, I'd love to hear them. I don't need to start to insult you, I have Shang for that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    Rayne:
In theory they could add whatever they wanted to the game through a patch, code is structered rather good these days so that individual sections can be upgraded without affecting other functionality. AI programming is difficult work though, but they already have the scripts required in the arcade team battles stuff. I don't think reorganizing the AI's of the different ranks and inserting the already existing team battle scripts would be too hard, just time-consuming. (Note, it all depends on how they put the code together in the first place, which from an outside point of view is of course guesswork, but a proffessional development house with such a long history must know what they're doing.)

The question rather is, will they? Patching a console game with no online capabilities? (online patchwork to enhance network speed or take advantage of new networking features set-up for the machine is common enough, or tweaking game balance, which in VF is handled through the arcade releases) Doubtful. I don't expect patches for VF5 at all actually, but maybe I'm just being glum.

aside: I work as an application programmer. Geek lord to the max, eh? You'd be surprised how few programmers actually play games though, other than as very casual pass-time, apart from game-programmers obviously, a lot I'm sorely tempted to join should the opportunity arise.

At first I thought it was just only the import copies of the game(Thats what I was basing my judgment on) But I finally got to play the US version of the game. Yes, I did put the the AI in HARD. What I notice is that the AI have some good combo setups, but they stop half way(If you chill) or don't do anything at all, if you don't do anything at all yourself.

They just turtle, and you could very easily, throw them. In EVO, you wouldn't be able to stand there blocking, they will slam your ass! I notice some good setups, here and there, but the fact of the matter is, the A.I. programing was rush.

One thing I notice with the US version is the my PS 3 pad going out of sync in Dojo mode(happen like twice). Other then that, the game is tight, nuff said.

Oh shit, I thought this was a vf community, with all that entails. Please tell me where I am wrong.

Anyone ever think that the less than stellar AI might be to "fix" one of the longest standing complaints with VF, it's not newb friendly?

I already did. You don't get to bitch and complain about VF5 if you don't even have a copy with which to speak about. Playing VF5 (or planning to do so in the near future) is the price of admission to join this community.

ice-9, you are a force to be reckon with in Quest Mode! I lost to you twice before I was able to defeat you. ice-9 in quest mode is just as powerful as he is in real life. And now the man, the legend, and the name live on forever in the history book of virtua fighter..
Then I met "ogi ^-^ Kage" and crushed him with 1 move.

DOA4 says hi. It can be done (although they patched moves/framedata and not the AI - the game is made for online, so nobody plays the AI anyway.

This would be easy for the team that worked on the AI.

Do you know whether the same developers were involved on

    VF4, EVO FT and VF5?

You of all people are going to even question my dedication to the vf community? That on all levels is a riot. Having played vf5 over the weekend, I still stand by what I have said. When you have struggled to maintain a user base in your area 1/50 of what I have, then maybe you have to right to tell me about where I belong in vf.

I have no right to tell you where you belong in VF in life, but I certainly do on how you participate on this site. Glad to see you're playing VF5 though.

I think the a.i's weak in the lower ranks but the higher ranks can be a pain in the butt to defeat

im new to VF, but I say that the single player mode is great.

It will take me months to finish it with el blaze, and then I got to learn another character.

This game is worth my ps3 purchase alone

Think the AI is fairly decent depending on how you play it. If you regiment yourself to play it properly and not look for holes to exploit you'll have more fun. Question is do you have the discipline to stick to this code of ethics if you're both down to your last grain of health and the AI character you're fighting can't deal with a specific pattern.

I've had this game for 4 days, I have only used Lei Fei and an arcade stick during these 4 days but I can definitely say the AI is weak, at first I was having some problems, but it has got easy real fast, even the higher ranks on hard in quest mode make the same stupid mistakes.
They often leave themselves open to attacks and they rarely throw escape even though I use mainly the same throw which will probably become a bad habit.
It has put me off quest mode a bit knowing that I am not going to get much of a challenge.

I find it more fun if you give up the initiative more than you'ld hopefully do against a human, then try to gain it back using Jabs, throws, fuzzy guard, solid defense etc. That way you're still learning about the game.

It helps if you don't see your objective as winning, but learning.

I think the AI is cheaper at the higher ranks
