I just downloaded the VF5 Promo Movie from the Japanese PSN Store. This is the closest I can get to seeing VF5 running on my PS3 right now... Freakin' gorgeous. This game is freaking gorgeous.

Rofl yup. So so true. Sure beat all those 30 fps WMV videos most of us have been watching. I was willing to play the game on that quality of footage. But now? Man... this game is gorgeous.

IGN's posted the latest Developer Diary feature.

It's about the VF.TV mode, and is a bit interesting. You can customize the CPU characters in the Exhibition mode, though I'm not sure if all the items are usable right away or if you have to unlock them for characters first. The Movies section has four types of movies, two of which are demos (Wolf vs Blaze, Eileen doing her dance/kata) which you can customize as well. The developer is cryptic about the rest of the movies. I'm hoping that the version B intro is in and is also customizeable...

The game is already out in Hong Kong (lucky bastards). NCS announced on Friday that they will be getting a partial shipment and shipping out preorders by Monday. It's too late to rush if you didn't preorder, but at least this pretty much means the game is on the way- no more delays.

Also, it's been confirmed that the Japanese and Asian PS3 version are region free and have english support, so no more worries about that part. It's all about waiting for the game to arrive now.

    ^_^

Some people in the US have already gotten their copies from NCSX.

well then "some people" need to post some impressions/details about the japanese and asian versions! I'd really like to know if when you switch it to english if EVERYTHING goes to english. Thats what I'm assuming, but finding out that some menu is always in japanese would suck when my import copy arrives.

I'm also curious about what happens to quest mode when its switched to english. Like will all the americans who got in on the sega sign-up be in there?

I don't have it myself yet, but I think people in the New England area have got them, unless they are just making it up.

I can safely say that if you switch the language to English, then the AI opponents will be the western players who have got their names put in through Sega's contest. All the menus and such will be in English as well.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif I was honestly kind of hoping to play against the Japanese players. Do you know if any of those players are in the english version? Chibita, Kurita, Oshu, ect? I'm to understand that no western players are above 10th dan, right? So are the higher "named" ranks the top japanese players who submitted their VFcard data?

I hope so. Cause if "milky Pai" is the most hardcore of the "real player" AI in the game, I'll be bummed.

I got another reply from an EBAY seller from Japan, he told me the game is half english and half Japan. Take it for what its worth, I don't know the guy and the other EBAY seller told me the game is all in English when switched over to English.

He could mean character voices lol. But probably just meant that, whatever system setting you have your PS3 set to, that's what will be played.

maybe by "half english" he means it can be switched to english.

    HEY! Check this out...

It's a mag scan on VF5 which shows off Dural. They show her different versions, as well as mirror matches between them. There's even a neat little pic showing her stone variant in it's unique 'Game Over' pose... ^_^

    http://sapporo.cool.ne.jp/kiramato/1952byGAF.JPG

Which leads me to ask... how come Dural has a Game Over screen? What mode is that in? Can you use her in modes other than VS and Dojo?

LOL, I actually cancelled the order for VF5 and kept the order for the VSHG today, maybe hours before they charged my card. I got cold feet cause I have a bad feeling the game will be in Japanese and I am not asain, so it would really bother me, especially when I know little about VF5's terminology to begin with.

HEY! At Play-Asia, both the Japanese version AND the VF Stick High Grade have been taken OUT of the February 8 release list. This may mean that they are both already IN STOCK.

I checked, and the Japanese VF5 is indeed already in stock. The VF stick is still listed as 'Feb 8', but that may change.

Cross your fingers, we just might have our orders shipping very very very soon ^_^
