Beat 10 opponents consecutively. A loss or a ring-out of the opponent will reset the counter to zero.

Ok, I finally powered up my PS2 and got the full list (so far) of "Event Square" stuff. These are all 32-man tournaments except for "AM2 Cup" (8), and "Grapple New Century II" (64).

    Event Square tournaments:
    1. Knockdown clash
    2. Iron Fight
    3. Combo contest
    4. Combo Maniax
    5. Survival Tournament
    6. Wrestler's Battle
    7. Venus Cup
    8. Mirror Match
    9. Wall Death Match
    10. AM2 Cup
    11. Seesaw game
    12. Counter Challenge
    13. Ultimate Battle
    14. Hyper Action Battle (unlocks Hyper Battle, Knockdown clash, etc. in versus mode)

Main tournament: Grapple new Century II.

What are the battle mode for?

The secret battle modes apply special rules to a match. For example: In "Hyper Action Battle" all moves basically have no recovery time, allowing you to perform extended multi-hit combos that aren't normally possible. In "Seesaw Game", both players start the match with half energy. Each time someone gets hit, they lose energy while the other one gains. Eventually, the player who wins the round will always get an excellent (except if they win by ring-out). In "Knockdown Clash", whenever you don't techroll, you take extra damage. In "Iron Fight" all attacks/throws do very tiny amounts of damage. This results in very long matches, so the timer is set to infinite time. In "Survival Mode", after you win a round, your life-bar doesn't reset. You must fight the next round with the energy you have left (it only resets when you lose a round)."Counter Challenge" adds more damage for counter-hits, while "Wall Death Match" adds more damage for wall hits.

    some additions:

    sega world north:
    guaranteed throw 20 times

    sega world east:
10 matches without losing a round (doesnt have to be consecutive)
win with less than 24 moves (for the whole match, BTW)
    stagger the opponent 20 times
make the opponent whiff 10 times in a row
    down attack 20 times
dodging double throw escape 10 times

sorry i'm not sure about the order here, and some of the translations may be a bit off, but thats what i've got right now. figured i'd contribute. =]

    edit:
just discovered something else. sega world central doesnt show up if you're playing on beginner difficulty. :p
guess i'll have to figure out exactly what opens that up...

Just wanted to confirm what DRE wrote, that by finishing all the special tournaments at the Event Square (in no particular order) with 1st place, you'll unlock the "Battle Mode" option in the vs play options.

I've finished all the arcades (up to east) and the tournaments in the Event Square (including the grapple 2 tourney) in normal mode. Have i completed the quest mode?

  12. DRE

If you've completed all the quests, defeated 100% of the opponents in each arcade, collected all the emblems, purchased everything in the shop, won all the special items for your character not available in the shop, collected all of the wallpapers AND unlocked all of the secret game modes, I'd say you've completed it. I don't have all my items yet, so I'm not completely sure. Maybe something special happens when you have it 100% complete. I doubt it though.

Thanks for the info Dre. I've got 100% in all except the first arcade. I've got all the emblems, most of the wallpapers and all the items i want (except the blindfold!!!). But honestly i'm getting a bit tired of the repetitive matches. Unless of course i know that i'll get the blindfold. Imagine a gold fighter with a blindfold!

Thx for all, guys! When you "talk" about golden fighters, do you mean that the fighters are completely golden or that only their clothes are?
(Sorry for my poor english, i'm fren... no, don't kill me !lol)

    After sega world east?

Having a problem unlocking the next area after sega world east...

I just switched to intermediate, beat the am2 cup (and am current/winner on all event tourneys), and beat the tourney in sega world east... but it did not unlock the next area.

Just wondering if I missed something somewhere down the line...
