Personally, I'll never have the chance to see VF4 evo in the arcades. I live in Phoenix. But from the exposure to the ver.B of VF4 and the PS2 version, the PS2 version was a let down when the textures were really subpar. Judging solely from the pictures on the net, the gap between Arcade and console has really been narrowed moreso than before. Just how close that gap has narrowed remains to be seen. AM2 has shown before that their second generation games are steps above their first. Remember the Virtua Fighter on Saturn to Virtua Fighter 2. The change from CD to DVD format may also help immensly. Texture size and resolution take up alot of space on disk. Any graphics artist will tell you that high resolution art is bit-intensive.

Wait till more pics and better movies come out, but just judging from the pics and media, there is nothing that says that it cannot be on par with the arcade, or even "surpasing it" as AM2 and Sega are harping with the Sony style publicity. Until there is proof of "sub-arcade" standard.

At the very least, the pics show that there is a chance that the differences between home and arcade version will be minimal to the point that one can't tell.

For now, at least for me, I can only speculate and hope POSITIVELY for a mind blowing port.

So far, it looks DRASTICALLY improved over the original VF4 on PS2. The faces look a lot better, the backgrounds look more detailed (Check out the second video for Wolf and Vanessa's background...no more fog in Vanessa's background and the lighting looks a lot better in Wolf stage).

Hard to tell from the videos if there is Anti-Aliasing or not, but I can't see any jaggies, and Sega seems to have promised to remove them.

It looks great. I hope AM2 releases some high res movies soon.

With the exception of course that the Great Wall stage has *no rain*. Hope that that's a feature yet to be added.

    cheers,

Yeah. That stage is my favorite, along with Jeff's. That would piss me the hell off. I pray that they add the rain, but then again, we've got over 3 whole months before release. I'm sure they'll add it.

That, and my silent prayers that Taka would return...but I already know the answer to that one...
