Actually, the Sarah combo in question was:

[2][P]+[K][K], [4][K], FL: [P][P][K]

This is the first time I've seen a picture of Muscles Sarah, it's an honor for me. Cheers Creed for the clip and thank you Zero-chan for pointing the man out.

Hence the name, "low punch Minami Kage"

I tried to accurately, and counted around 21 low punches in the first round alone........[2][P]hehehe[2][P] /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

In the entire match I counted apporximately 4359843429847 low punches /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif [2][P]

I was fairly disappointed by the Aoi matches (both of them, though the first was far better than the second...) and the Kage match. The Jeff/Wolf match was pretty cool since I actually got to see a tournament-level Jeff in action and the both Akira/Sarah amtches were fun to watch for a number of reasons.

And, is it just me, or does EVERYONE play Aoi the same...? /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I mean, the first match had a lot of good G-canceling going on, but even that got old. The second match seemed full of unsuccessful yomi.

This first match fucking OWNS /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ... the kage player begins like mr. house-of-style and does what has to be the coolest sneak attack involving jumonji ever. You'll know what I'm talking about. No spoilers. Then he breaks a wall doing a TFT combo and suddenly the flavor of the match changes. The lau starts rampaging and it's a tossup as to who finishes it.
The next match I think is chibitarou vs shou. No wait, that's kurita!@
No spoilers here except that the little guy sure loves his byakko.

Download >> POPY_6_lau_lau_jacky_lau.avi

At one point we may be seeing some sort of ARE, early in the match. Lau has his elbow blocked, and even though no throws have occured yet, he does a psychic m-upknife-spkn float to crush the other lau's throw attempt.
Both laus play a tight technical game and seem to have great yomi. I like seeing them land upkn-spkn float combos from a simple whiffed jab after an upknife.

The second match, I don't mind saying it's got mistakes. Both these guys could probably own me, but there are definitely missed opportunities. The lau keeps doing bb+P,d+P .. and jacky keeps reversing it but failing to take his free throw (he opts to flowchart into a jab instead). The jacky player blocks an uf+K and just d+P's. The lau player lets jacky skip away after f+P,P,K. You get the picture. Oh well, I enjoyed the first match a lot.

The Lau match is just... WOW!! I'm going to play a faster and harder lau now. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Oooh. The pleasure and pain of [3][P]+[K]! Almost anything but the damned YAHHH woulda sealed that comeback. Amazing. Lau's nuts.

Godeater wrote the above months ago & it applies nicely to the maligned Kage match. I laughed my ass off, personally. C'mon. Who hasn't BT 8way'd into the corner of the screen screaming "where's Jacky? find Jacky!" Shit. You guys are no fun /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Match 1 is solid jacky play. He's very good at mixing up throws, using in succession ff, dfdf, fb, then neutral throws. He escaped one of aoi's throws, and otherwise just flowcharted well. No jawdropping movement or combos from either player, just good playing without screwups.

In the second match, mask looks like he's having WAY too much fun. He's grinning even as he loses the first round, then he's suddenly pouring on the stylish crap like backturned skip-away kicks, SS iaigeri, and a few hit throws.
It all works too.

Download >> POPY_8_vanessa_akira_wolf_aoi.avi

In this one, PK akira shows some nice yomi. The vanessa lands a low punch cut, which looks like great prediction until you notice he throws out 10 of them a round. PK notices too and DBC's him. Lots of style points to PK for landing ICHITAKEN-HA!@!! in a tournament. The vanessa gets a ton of damage off of what must be the underrated f+P, df+K sequence. From those two hits you're -2 but due to spacing issues the vanessa was able to crush low punches. He also nails a few 270's and a nice db+KG vs a rising attack.

In the next match, the wolf does some great mental reamage. Low punch --> big bridge bomb. Check out the cute trick at the 4:30 mark. Besides escaping intelligently and nailing a low punch cut, I noticed the wolf got tons of shoulder rams that smacked aoi out of her guard cancels for 85 pt combos... something to remember.

Download >> POPY_9_pai_lau_akumapai_pai_ohsu_akira.avi

The first match is a chick fight, and the lau player is 78% after 3700 matches. That'd be kinda horrifying to go up against in a tournament...a near 80% lau is already scary. The lau play is strong, with well-mixed throws and intelligent counters (i.e. upkn-spkn after the pai whiffs d+K,K, etc). The pai player tries to get by on lots of 270 attempts, which the lau mysteriously stops with df+PPP most of the time. I'd like to think it's ARE /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ...beyond that the pai taught me something neat - ST near a wall --> PPP (third punch sends them into the wall for heavy wall stagger) ---> canned K followup to PPP. In other words it's ST --> PPPK just like in VF2. The full combo + pounce takes off a ton.

The next match is a must see, ohsu does a style-rape on tsuchi using DLC variant to set up a back throw. He even tosses out the stance... only one SDE too /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Basically he played really smart and managed to overcome tsuchi's smart defense. When he went for EDTEG, ohsu punished with a slightly delayed shrm. When tsuchi refused to QR/TR after the RBC --> dbpm ... ohsu pounced. It's pretty rare to see a player as good as tsuchikumo have this much trouble with anyone. He did show me a sort of neat trick to add to my pai arsenal.. using the FC b+K to punish people who refuse to TR/QR. It doesn't commit you too much even though it's a damaging hit.

I think that's AkumaPai in the last clip, not Tsuchikumo. Excellent match by Ohsu!!

Get divx 5.03 at http://www.divx.com/divx ... if their page is laid out the same, you want the far left download option /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

PS: savannah georgia sucks, but at least it's not bangor, maine Y_Y

Pst, DivX 5.0.5 is current and one needs to click on "Download DivX codec (no cost)" to download the bundle (codec + divx player 2.1) - the download page design changed (free divx download was always far right anyway, KreeD0 /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Thanks for the link GLC.

PS: Stop trying so hard to make me look not-right /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif ...the free option was always on the left until this most recent change. I suppose you'll want some proof or something to satisfy the nitpick in you so here's your link.

The final popy movies. Don't be alarmed, I'm only slow updating because I'm working on the goh/everyday BS documents /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

To comment on these would be sort of a spoiler, so I'll let people download them. They're finals, you should all check them out.
