The timer thing is retarded. It's cool that it's there but you should be able to press a button and have it ready to go.

Daytona did it to where you had the option to wait, and if you knew or didn't care if a room was full, you could just start the match.

So yeah, Timer Issue and Button config. are patches I can get down with for sure.

An optional costume compatibility pack would be nice as well. Even if you DL it, they should give an option whether you want to see it.

it makes no sense that people cannot join during a game in progress then. just have em wait it out a bit.

I think SEGA might be able to adjust current room system, such as to let people join the room while playing with no spectator mode until that match is done.

About the timer, I still think host should be able to skip it as long as everyone is on the menu.

Agree with Dennis0201, it's like that in UMVC3, and I think it's the best way to do it.

Also not being able to rematch against a friend in 1on1 room is killing me, when both players just want to play again with same characters, same stage having to go back to a room is really annoying...

There's something I'm missing, in today's games online menu. Companies like Capcom have done the job right on SSF4, then when they released MVC3 vanilla they did a crappy menu, which they corrected in Ultimate (still not perfect, no rematch).
Now Sega releases FS and they don't carry over the rematch feature of vanilla VF5 nor copy the good examples of what's being done by other companies...

    1. Option to lower lobby time and/or disable it.
    2. Option to kick player in room matches if your host.
    3. Compatibility patch for DLC.
    4. If neither opponent is entry'd don't force them to fight.

Oh and one more thing.... Have players you recently played show up under player's met section on PSN (XBL to if they have this issue as well). Wanted to tell a good Lion player GG but forgot their name and they already left lol.

I understand, but it doesn't change the fact that it's killing the experience. Just like Dennis said the host or who ever is the winner should be given the option to start the match.

Last night we had a killer room going with me, GT, Glory, Slide, Denkai, Tricky and few others. It's was a packed room and it was awesome. However after about 30-45 minutes everyone just bailed because of the timer. Not to give into despair we decided to put together a smaller room to shorten the wait... yeah that only lasted about 20 minutes before everyone bailed again and decided to just do player matches.

Loving the game, loving the lobby room with up to 8 players but they seriously need to dumb down that timer to 10 seconds OR give the host / winner option to just start the match. What makes it just a tad bit more frustrating is even after the time counts down from 30 seconds it then tags another 5 seconds of wait time to sync the players I'm assuming??? before it starts the match.

Other than that I have no other complaints about this game.

Edit: No kick button for room matches? At least now you can now decline someone in player matches. The gods have answered my prayers. No more will I be harassed by addypaddy and jcblack.

I'm just curious, do u think Sega WILL release a patch for this game? I know they did with the 360 version of VF5 vanilla.

Screw the timer. Day one patch should fix the hit boxes. I swear I was standing 15 feet away from a Pai player and her rising kick still hit me square in the face. I'm damn certain Sega actually increased the size of some of the hit boxes to give scrubs a fighting chance. Most notably in Goh's button mash friendly strings. IF they add anything after the supposed timer fix, please make it subtitles. Nothing sucks more than winning with Taka or Jean and not knowing WTF they are saying.

    Nice point
And i want to add that i just noticed you don't choose your character after the end of the timer. You literally choose while you are waiting in the lobby.

Ok other games have a fast cooldown between match but calculate the time you lose when you have to pick a character ?

In SSF4 you chose Ryu but you have to wait for your opponent to decide which ultra you will pick too. After that you have to pick a stage too. And after that there is a loading !

In UMVC3 you have to pick 3 characters. Yes in UMVC3 you can choose faster because you can setup 3 teams ready for the fight but what if your opponent don't do that ?

Same for Soul Calibur V, SFxTK, Arcana Heart 3, BlazBlue, SkullGirls (though there is no lobby yet in this game)

So if you really compare i will not be surprises to see VF5FS lobby is faster in the end that most of the others games lobby. The only thing is we are not used to wait in the lobby while doing "nothing" so we complain it's take too much time.

    It's my opinion ^^

Rematch option that doesn't have to go back to the loading screen - both in online player match and offline vs.

Was way ahead of you there Richkwondo far as the subtitles thing goes. Which is exactly why i gave out my list back on page 2. Wasn't as random as many might think it was now huh?

Why there aren't subtitles for the 'Non-English' speaking characters in this series after practically 5 Virtua Fighter games that have been internationally released overseas for the past 19 years worth of VF in total, is anybody guess at best, but yeah its very weird when the competition like; Tekken, DOA and Soul Calibur have provided subtitles when certain characters during cutscenes spoke in Japanese during the game.

I'm not sure how many of u will agree with me on this, but I kinda feel that the ranking should be less lenient. It is so easy to rank up, even if u lose, u rank up, but i think i've noticed that it isn't the case once u get to the Dan ranks.

I also wish it had the win ratios from VF5 vanilla.

I'm making sure i don't drop VF5 vanilla then def!

And since i didn't play it as much as i should've, i can still play it alongside FS and work on unlocking the stuff on the console version that i didn't until now. And it'll always be help if i practice and keep an understanding of both FG systems anyways, so i can always play both and be adapting somewhat of the changes between the two versions etc.

This. I was taken aback when I switched it to VF4's music and Burning House's theme was the VF5 one.

Because Goh wasn't in 4, and didn't have a stage in Evo or FT, and I'm pretty sure neither him or Brad had their own themes either (they shared stages with other characters).

Some of the characters have music from the pachinko game if you have the music set to a game before they appeared, although if they don't, I'm pretty sure the game will use the music from the earliest game they appeared (for example, selecting VF1 music will have Shun's VF2 theme, Taka's VF3 theme Lei-Fei's VF4 theme and El Blaze's VF5 theme on their respective stages).

Ah, it's been that long since I've played VF4Evo that I totally forgot Goh shared his stage with Kage(?). I stand corrected!

Uh, as far as the timer goes, it needs to be long enough... Sometimes, I forget to change my character entirely, until it's too late, and I see the wrong one at the Vs. screen.

Maybe both people should be able to okay the clock-kill... Having it decided by one person, who only use one character is unfair... I'm using 5 different characters, I'd like to switch it up from time to time. Don't take my option away.

Let it be okay'd by both players, not just the host... the option to disasble voice is totally understandable, HOWEVER, you CAN disable voice chat from the PS3 in [settings].

About the hitboxes... I'm sure sega didn't touch them. They specifically said it would be 1-1 with the arcade version. They're not going to make any obvious character buffs to help out beginners...

    1. Beginners don't know about the changes.
    2. The people who know the game will find out first, and use it to their advantage.
