Rayne, when I've got my new place sorted out with the supermassive HDTV, the PS3, and the two VSHG, you two'll be welcome pretty much whenever within reason, I'm sure.

Nice one, I'll take you up on that. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
How did the matches go with you and Leo? Any replays?

There were some replays of my finals with Hazuki, but they weren't anything special. I was way too nervous.

This weekend is hard cos it's my sister's birthday, but the following Saturday I might open my place up for VF. But it's mega small, it only really handles four people at the most, and that's pushing it, but it's what I've got /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Ah bugger cos I might be in London this Saturday and wondered if you wanted matches.

When are you in? I can maybe delay heading to my sister's for a few hours if you're in town early. It's a BBQ on Saturday, though, so I can't hang about too long.

Update for you two: Moving in sometime between 15th to the 22nd, so once we're settled, we should get some hardcore training in there.

Or just marvel at the skill you two throw at each other. After I've learned a little more about in-fighting and getting my evades to work, maybe I'll offer up some replays. Right now, I just concentrate on one of Lion's strengths instead of all of them, which just makes it obvious where my weakness is.

    Yeah, I'm not *that* hot.

I mean, I'm definitely like, HOT in the lady-killer sense, sure, but VF-wise I'm like, average at best.

I didn't think I did -that- badly against you. I just went to pieces when you got all up in my face and was all "AAAAAARGH NOW I SHOW YOU WHAT RAPE MEANS MORTAL!"

Also, the parries were kinda not useful even with the canned evade. I should stop even trying to use them.

My conclusion these days is that with parries...

As often suspected, moderately high risk for medium at best reward. And the rewards are almost never a guarantee on success.

However, I sometimes use parries to cut down on my opponent's comfort level of using certain attacks. Generally to at least leave an impression on my opponent's punches and elbows as well as low pokes.

That said, in many instances you really might as well dodge.

But the built in dodge from a parry definitely seems bigger than any normal dodge to me. But I'm not so sure about that even.

If we're to delve deeper into the potential of parries, and really find where it's almost completely useful, we'll probably have to get character specific since it's an option that can cut down on opponent's options.

Perhaps it cancels out El Blaze's fast jab options.
