Outrun 2 thread

Thanks for the info, man. So on most courses a combination will yield best results.

I'll hopefully get in some serious practice in this weekend. It'll still be some time, though, till I start cracking good lap-times.

But no worries, O2 rocks. It's the first driving game since F355 that has really captured my attention. I love the "feel" and the driving is sweet. Apart from that the presentation and music is fantastic.
Basically, it's good times in a box. I love it.

I usually play O2 after practicing Ikaruga for a while. I find O2 to be a really nice way to relax after the mental agony Ikaruga always bestows upon me.

On another note, which cars do you folks use?

StoneColdSerb, I know what you mean; the “feel†is perfect. The handling has some similarities to F355 in that you can sail your way round a corner and make smooth sweeping curves with relative ease. Very few racing games capture that sensation well imo

As for it being a relaxing experience just wait till you start competing on the TT boards! Speaking of which, MrDark that most recent Alpine ghost you uploaded is proving frustratingly difficult to beat. Must put in some drive time tonight to try and dislodge it.

Haha!, that ghost wasn't even perfect. You might be able to get a head if you change gears at the right time at the start. Think I left it in 5th gear for too long as I was trying to get the most out of the revs from the hill climb.

Been trying to get a good time on Route1 last night but didn't get a good placing. That F40 is so much harder to drive than the easier cars used for level time trials.

 

Spare me the advice - you've some driving to do me-lad-oh. Check the latest Alpine times....

well, apples and oranges to be honest. burnout 3 is an awesome game, a game which is not ashamed to be a piece of pure entertainment; almost like a lovely piece of gaming candy. i can't really find any fault with it. except sometimes the multiplayer road rage win/loss seems a bit random, but then that's prolly just me being stupid or something.

If you love Burnout 3 why not discuss its merits elsewhere? For example in a thread which isn't called 'Outrun 2 thread'?

 

Burnout 3 is piss poor mixed with EA awful soundtrack and you have a winner /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Seriously speaking though there two different games which shouldn't really be compared.

 

Not to jump in on the thread here, but I was enjoying the Outrun 2 discussion until you started ragging on a completely awesome game then saying..

Anyways, Outrun 2 looks pretty awesome and I was wondering is this just for arcades and if not which system? If it is only for the arcade are there any plans for a sytem release? Darte I saw... online? woo?

I'm now 2nd (would have been first if I didn't slid out of place at the last corner). Since the game is out and all, I was wondering if anyone can record me the tune "The magical sound shower"?

This tune is kickass. Or the whole album would be cool too.

 

It's a classic isn't it? Outrun 2 has a remixed version of Magical Sound Shower in the default soudtracks, which imo pales next to the original. Thankfully the original can be unlocked in mission mode. If you google search for videogame music you should be able to download the track.
