I think compatibility packs are a great idea. I was really surprised when I first found out SEGA wasn't adding anything like this. If they do add compatibly packs, it would be very much like the arcade feel, and have a greater potential to sell more DLC.

It's a constant surprise for me too. It just looks like the obvious way to go, but some people don't agree with that.

Well I'm a lil' beyond casual when it comes to fighting games in general but yeah, mainly I want the full Arcade experience with customization. We seemed focused on the over the top items but there are a lot of cool alternate casual or martial arts attire that are not too distracting. Not everyone makes there charas into a clowns. I live in a area which has many locals and tournaments and game play is always #1 but I don't want to lose anything from arcade. Like stated, I think compatibility packs with on/off would be great

They look like they were dipped in car wax.

You present both sides in a fair and balanced way.

What are you talking about? It Does'nt matter if the characters don't look extreme... I for one don't think wearing items you earned is a bad thing. I like to see the characters wearing casual clothing.. I love Akira Leather Bomber and jeans look.. The characters need to look updated plain and simple. Once you've paid for the game you can do whatever you want. I want all the features from the arcade and more (Training) for a 2 year old game. If you was using a card in the arcade and i was'nt i'd still get to see your outfit. Why dead it now.. I mean Seriously did you really say you missed matches because some assholes have ugly customizations? Are you fucking Kidding me? I seen some of the best customizations in this game along with some o.k. ones.. Its the only way i can tell the superstar players if they are not labeled.

I don't do ugly, plain and simple. I don't have time for that.

Someone else said the characters look bland, I disagree. Does that mean I won't customize? No. On my old account, I had the cleanest looking El Blaze. I plan to continue that in FS.

The suggestion of being able to toggle customizations on/off is awesome. Hopefully it's not too late for that.

I personally can't really watch a match with dudes in thongs and speedos lol. So I miss those ones.

And not to be too nit picky, but just wanted to say. Yea the game came out two years ago. But the latest game changing update for it wasn't too long ago (or was it?). So in a sense, it's not the same game as it was 2 years ago. [IMG] But yea I agree with wanting all the features of the arcade, if it's possible.

Other than that, i'm hyped to hear game plus all DLC will be 60$ or less. I'm definently buying all the stuff now. Even though I only use one character really. Ima show some love, plus I want to see others customs. And with it being the price of a disc game to have it all, I aint got no problem throwing the extra dollars at em.

I think there will be no complaints from anyone on the whole DLC issue now that the price of it is pretty much out now.

The problem is that if new players can't see other players' customizations, they probably won't be interested in paying for DLCs. They might even believe that it means they haven't seen anyone so far who bothered buying DLCs, so DLCs probably suck.

Cuz, I know you're Canadian so you can be forgiven for this but the command was to watch sports in HD not play sports in real life.

Now i remember what i wanted to say lol!!!

Case in point.. back on topic...

If you cannot see your opponents items etcs.. why should someone new to the game want to by it? It all falls backs to fact Sega Advertising braintrust sucks. Obviously if you see cute/exotic/random/happy items on your opponent you might want it for yourself and feel obligated to buy it..Like i said make those Items DLC since they are usiversal for all characters I.E. Dragon,Tiger,Pharoah,Cat,Bear,Wolf heads, Opa Opa,Flame/Electric wrist aura /ETC.

If people playing sports don't look like wax in standard def, nor in real life, why would they look like it in HD?

If people buy the game and get into it, they'll pick up the DLC content. If they buy the game and don't like it much, they wont. I think the strategy makes sense from a business standpoint. They really don't expect sales on VF5FS to be too high and are playing it as safe as possible (advertising costs $$$). I think the majority of gamers that already know of and want VF5FS will buy the DLC. Not sure how many casual players are really gonna be interested in playing dress up with their fighters...

I would agree with you Steel, except the amount of customizations available is unlike anything seen on console yet; 14000 items is a huge amount, that's around 1000 items per character! Each guy will probably have 200 different pants, tops, shoes, hair and 200 various items like halos and lights, etc.

Plus, the items are so well done, they really add a lot of flair to each match. Watching the recent footage, the lack of customizations jumped out at me as the characters looked much more bland than usual. I understand SEGA's position, but having a compatability pack, just so everyone can at least see what the other person is wearing, would do nothing but help the game become more popular and reach higher sales numbers.

I'm getting all the items regardless, but for those who don't, some kind of compatability pack would be an excellent addition to this excellent game.

In Soul Calibur 4, three years after release there were still plenty of total button mashing scrubs who simply kept playing because they found other button mashing scrubs who prefered to play dress up instead.

These guys are a complete bore to play against, but they bring money to whoever made the game. If you need DLC to see their super original Hulk costumes, they won't be interested in playing dress up for you because you most likely won't have bought the DLC for Wolf anyway.

I'm all for a compatibility pack, but I could see people downloading the pack bitching that they had to pay for something locked on their HDD

No need to bitch if it's made clear that's what you're doing. Also, it should be made OPTIONAL, so if you don't like the idea, you simply don't download it.
