I've been out of the scene for quite a bit of time and haven't played VF in a long while (mostly due to other responsibilities), but with VF5FS being confirmed, I think it's high time to get back into it.

I've made the shift to other games, like SF4 and Tekken (here and there) mostly because, AFAIK, the Montreal scene is dead. It's great to see Sega make their contribution to the community...but I must reiterate what has already been said (because it is absolutely necessary to do so):

Sega has done their part. Now it's time to do ours.

Capcom and others only do what they do because the community is already established and it gets established because of people like us. I feel that if VF5FS fails to show any positive results in terms of sales or growth in the community would really put the final nail in the coffin for the hope another VF. Let's prevent that from happening!

As for the delivery mechanism, I think digital is a great method. Not only will it be constantly available for purchase, even years down the line, but it's great for more public places. What I mean by that is:

In Montreal, we have this place called Foonzo Cafe. It's a nerd haven, filled with home-made arcade cabinets (actually 360's, but joysticks included, face-to-face cabinets). A lot of street fighter players, Blazblue, etc gather to play there. With VF5FS going digital, it would be great to see the game available in such a central location. (I'm not sure how prevalent such Cafe Arcades are elsewhere, but I feel it's the future of arcades (buy a drink and play) and would be a great place to market the game to more serious players.)

As for DLC, I think it's great depending on the pricing structure. Considering I only play a handful of characters seriously, it would reduce my costs considerably. Of course, I'll probably end up buying everything, but the benefits remain for others.

Any news on being able to carry character profiles/save files on USB sticks? That would be awesome. *crosses fingers* And I can't wait to hear more details about the online mode and features. VFTV would be cool. But I'm glad we got the lobby!

Guess it's time to start working on those throw escapes again! Can't wait for summer!
