Demo looks decent, and most likely people can play the same version at FR.

Now the real question is, does the game come with any customizable parts at all, or will they ALL be dlc. I would have preferred that all the items were in the game and they only charged for any new items they released in the arcade, but dlc is easy money for companies these days.

There must be some regular items come along with digital copy, but I believe they are very rare. DLC this time is SEGA's new strategy to gain profit from FS. As long as the digital copy and DLC are at reasonable price, I think most of us here will pay for it.

I don't care how much the DLC items will cost and I don't care whether I use them or not... none of it matters. What matters to me is that Sega is finally listening to the VF fans and our community. I'm buying the game and I'm buying all the DLC. Honestly I may even double dip by buying everything for both Xbox360 and PS3. I had only planned on going the Xbox360 route, but if PSN has a decent amount of people I'll bite since it will be nice to play with a fresh set of players.

Whether you go Xbox or PS3 I think everyone should buy everything. Let's all show Sega we appreciate what they are doing for us and hopefully they won't keep us waiting so long in the future when it comes to VF6.

      Regards,

Imma buy everything anyway. If I get a new PS3 I'll get it all there too.

I know i'll pick everything up for the 360 version but I think just picking up the PS3 version is enough for me, i'll only get on the PS3 version to play with the players here that are PS3 only so not much point in getting all the DLC.

I do agree that everyone should spend as much as they can though [IMG]

Just peeped the Evade Training in this interview clip.. Here's hoping to have the whole VF4EVO Training tutorial is present.

Is there a thread on VFDC that lists active players for XBox and PS3? It would be nice to know.

Can't wait for it as probably most (if not all) people here.

About those DLCs I'm thinking that some things will be in game and some should be released as for example packages of items, and maybe bundle with everything [IMG] That way or another I want it ASAP [IMG]

The thing that impressed me the most in this interview was how the guy said they originally weren't going to include lobbies, but ended up changing their mind due to player feedback. You know, Sega may not have implemented every crazy thing we asked for, but you have to give them some credit here. They really are listening to feedback, and they clearly want to do whatever it takes for this game to succeed.

I like what the guy from Sega had to say, but I wasn't overly impressed by the efforts of the game spot people; they came across a bit insincere imo, especially when they finished the discussion talking about fireballs.

The question about a download only release seemed like a hard question for Patrick to answer, but imo the most obvious reason he should have went for, is that fighting, Driving, sports & party games need better availability than single player games by being permanently in the system. For no other reason than consoles only have one optical drive, and those type games typically are ones you might want to play concurrently with the latest & greatest single player epic. Also many of those game types need other peripherals that might not be left setup, such as joysticks, steering wheels and cameras/moves, and switching out a disc to, just adds more resistance to getting in a thirty minute fix before bed on the lounge TV.

I was surprised that by comparison to the arcade footage in the recent AM2 interview it does look like an early demo build in the gamespot video. As the footage seemed sparse on polygons and lack of clothing physics even compared to VF5 ( that the AM2 guys said was a new feat of most geometry when it released on console).

The footage also seemed a little rough around the edges for the HUD overlay at the top, with visible loss of quality in the sprites, and there also seemed to be a lack of depth of field effects compared to the arcade version, and aliasing was actually quite visible.

Obviously if the game comes out that way I'll still be happy to get it and be grateful they've released it with all the other improvements/additions, but I was a tiny bit disappointed that when the new characters fought, what was shown didn't seem arcade perfect or technically superior, visually to the version we already have.

Hopefully it is just the gamespot codecs that changed the way it looked, and I'm look too hard.

We asked for Sega support and we got it but just like shidosha said on his show, it's gonna be up to the community to keep the game alive. Everyone here needs to play their part, whether it's trying to get your friends into it, hosting gatherings or streaming your matches. I'm hoping the good peeps here will do their part.

The street fighter community has what they do today mainly because of the players effort, not Capcom's. I'm not delusional in thinking VF is going to get as popular as SF but lets at least get the community growing.

It was totally surreal to see FS on a gaming show like that, and it sure looked like the game is running great on the consoles!

The training mode looked awesome. I just hope it's completely in-depth so new players won't get frustrated about any aspect of the game. Oh, and wow, I can't believe they're adding a lobby system! Bravo, Sega! Thank you for listening to your fans.

I'll be looking forward to buying all that DLC! ... Twice! [IMG]

I think you're giving them too much credit for the lobby system.

They shouldn't have to listen to the fans to have a lobby system, its pretty much standard these days. Having only 2 player rooms would be being totally out of date on their part.

I'm still upset they're hinting at most of the items being dlc instead of being part of the game.

I'm not completely agree here. Capcom holds official tournaments regularly in Taiwan, and the director of SF4 is present at the event almost every time in person. Don't even to mention how often Capcom promotes their fighting games and treat Taiwanese players as the same as their local players.

I'm not going to give too much credit to SEGA, since this shit was supposed to be done 3 years ago, not today 2012. Well, at least we finally can have FS before next VF.

Dennis, Evo started with tom and tony cannon doing Battle by the Bay tourneys back in the 90s. Capcom wasn't doing anything to help them. Those two guys did it with the help of the community without any money or sponsorship from capcom. These tourneys were long before SF4 and they were for ST, alpha, Alpha 2, etc. Capcom getting involved in the last few years is the result of effort the community made for years and years.

If you want sega to get more involved, maybe we should show them they aren't wasting their time and money.

Amazing [IMG] I'm crying manly tears right now... Thanks Sega!

One question, as far as I understood, you don't need Virtua Fighter 5, right? It's not like an upgrade, but instead a whole new game.
