Fulaani is obviously a cam whore.

Every single picture there he just happens to be looking at the camera.

aaaaahahahahahahahahahaa I remember the first time I saw that thing like 6-7 years ago. I stood their and watched it for like 20 minutes. I don't know if it's true, but one of the guys who worked their when the store first opened said that it was the same dinosaur from the Jurassic movie. Also at the time when they moved it in they had the sound effects turned up louder and the dinosaur used to actually move around much more, but they turned the sound and some of it's movements down due to it scaring to many children and causing them to cry. Even after all these years it's still definitely one of the coolest things to look at in Times Square(42nd Street). I love when it starts roaring and breathing really hard.

    Good Day all,
First I want to say a BIGGGGGGG THANKS to ADAM & RODSTER!!!!!!!!!! This was awesome. As always you two did a fantastic job. I had a blast. You guys were as always attending our needs and trying to makes this as enjoyable as possible. And did a great Job A+ in my books.
Was glad to see an old fart like me still had a good time. Even if I am not great at the game anymore still had a blast winning and losing. I was amazed that a lot of the VF’ers was still interested in the VF3 days. I was glad I brought a few pics from 98” in Japan.

This event was frakking awesome. It was great to see so many new people into VF now. I was unsure if I would like this event or not because I really only knew Adam & Rodney, but everyone there was cool. I really enjoyed chatting it up with people. Everyone that I met was extremely nice, which made it worth the trip for me. By the way horses can kill a man with a 2 1/2 ft spear: D

Adam & Rod – it was great to see you guys again. I didn’t realize how much I missed hanging out and playing VF with you 2 until I saw you. I will not let this much time pass between us. It was great catching up with you 2 and to hear all the stories about your trips to Japan was a lot of fun. Adam you are still a fucking nice guy, you hadn’t change and I love that about you and Rod still the stand up guy as always.

ShinobiFist – I had a blast with this guy. He is a fun dude to hang around and he loves to chat it up. And Bon Jovi did not look gay in the 80’s he only had lip gloss on.  I had a great time playing his ElBlaze. I will defiantly keep in touch with him. And I hope to see you at the next gathering.

C.flash – this dude had a killer Wolf and an all around cool guy. His belt buckle was the SHIT, I loved that thing. I didn’t get a chance to play him (bummer) but we talked for a bit. A very cool guy. Next time I will be getting a few rounds in with you.

Chefboy – had an awesome Vanessa. I only got to play him 2 times but both times he had my number. I haven’t played a real good Vanessa yet, wished we got a few more matches in. he also had a big interest in the old days of VF2 & 3. which was a nice surprise, I didn’t think anyone would care about those days except for the old schoolers, so we chatted for a long time about how it was when VF2 & 3 were out. I defiantly want to get in more matches with you next time.

Denkai – what a Jacky and I learned a few things that I didn’t know about Jacky in VF5. Denkai was a fun guy to hang around and chat. We didn’t chat until the last day but when we did we didn’t stop. Lol. I should have kicked his ass when he picked shun against me in the team battle but I froze up and lost 2 matches that I should have won. Since I play JHow’s shun it should have been easy but it wasn’t shows that he has a lot of skill in this game to pick a second character to play and win with him. I also like the fact that he played VF3 and he talked a lot about that. An all around nice guy. And denkai be careful of those horses with long hard spears LOL.

Cozby – this was a very cool kid. Again he had interest in the old days and I was showing him Chibita videos from VF3 days and Bunbunmaru from VF2 days. We talk a bit and fought a few times he has a great Lei gay fei (I hate Lei a hard character to beat) and a good pai. I was surprised that he used a control pad, but he did play with the joy stick for some games. So props to him for trying to play on it.

KriJin – I met up with him on the Train and a very down to earth cool guy. Had the flashy Jacky and did some of his hard combos very impressive. I only got to play him once but I think we went 5 rounds. Wanted to play him again but never got the chance. And he had the badass stick. Man I loved that arcade stick of yours. Hope to play him more at the next gathering.

Cidkid – this dude was one badass motherfraker with LeiFei and elblaze. I fought him twice in the team battle and I think both came down to the fifth round. He is just plan good at the game. Had a great time talking with him. And remember never leave your ass in front of a horse, he might spear you to death LOL.

Ladon – what a nice guy. He introduced himself to me and we talked for a while. Found out he live close to where my mom live in FL, so next time I visit I will be playing with his crew down there. I was glad we got a chance to play on the last nite. He has an awesome shun and elblaze.

Dabadseed – what can I say about this except this is one funny motherfraker. I love how he talks the shit. It’s a riot I could stop laughing with all the smack talking he did. He really livened up the place when he got there on Saturday. He had a great Lion and Aoi props to him for being good at 2 charaeters. I had great time playing him and talking to him.

Shag – thanks for the T-shirts they looked awesome. He had a great Goh. A fun guy to play and be around. We didn’t get a chance to talk too much but next time we will. And thanks for helping the gathering to go smooth. You did a lot of the back around stuff. Like keeping people online up to date and running the tourneys. It was great to see you and I hope to see you at the next one.

Tony Familia – this dude was a fun fun fun guy to be around. He had some great stories. I was glad to meet him and I hope he will be at other gatherings. We finally got to play on the last nite and I had a blast playing his Brad ( Brad’s favorite saying “I am on top”) now how gay is that, don’t think your Uncle would approve of this character Tfam LOL. You know Brad eats his banana whole lol.

AZ – nice Akira. Had to really think on how to beat you. we had some great matches that were fun to play wither I lost or won it was fun. Hope to play again soon.

VF Hayato – a fun and interesting guy. Had a fun Goh to play against. He had a great personality easy to be around and just a fun guy to play or talk to.

75suited – didn’t play him but talked with him a bit and seemed like a real nice guy and a good pai player. I was glad he made it up and I hope next time we get to play a bit more.

KOD – good Jeffery player, and a great team mate in team battle. It funny that we played on the same team but never played against each other. We will have to get some matches in next time.

Johoseph – another cool guy and my roomie for the weekend. He had a great Goh and was fun to play against. Around nice guy had good conversation with him. I hope he will be at the next gathering.

Dark Gift – he played for a while one day and had an awesome wolf. We went back and forth and had some tight ass matches. Can’t wait to play him again.

Now I know didn’t get everyone here and I will I am just at work and can’t remember everyone right now but I will put up another post of people that I did forget to mention. I know this is a little long but thanks for reading this and lets get NY 09” going.
Now for a quick criticism on the event, the only thing I would like to see is a few machine that have it where the winner stays and the loser leaves the game, people were playing each other for 30 -40 mins at a time so I didn’t get to fight everyone I wanted to. But really this was a small thing I noticed. And by no means did this ruin my experience.
And also for the people that had a Hori 360 stick can you check the bottom of the stick see if it doesn’t have a sticker on it. The sticker is the manufactures. My was gone by the end of the weekend and I took the sticker off to identify it. If you did grab it by mistake can you send it back to me I will be more then willing to pay for the shipment.

thanks to all the people that showed up to make this event a blast. peace out

    Great write up Boyd! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I like the idea of an "arcade" setup. I believe there was something similar going on Friday night with Gentlemen Thief going on a long streak. But once the team tourney started the "arcade station" never came back up for the rest of the weekend.

Rodney did find an EX2 not claimed for but it did have a sticker, he said he would give it to you.

Re: NYG7 "GO THE BALLS OR DO GO AT ALL" Sept. 4-7,

As some of you know, this was my last VF gathering for a long time since I'll be leaving for Philippines this Friday for college. That being said, I'm glad that NYG7 was as good as it was, it was a worthy finale. Aside from a select few not being happy with the venue being so far away from the city, Adam really hooked us up! Rooms were dirt cheap thanks to VF discount, the VF Battle Arena was set up nicely with 4 TV setups and 1 massive projector setup. Lets also not forget about the pool in the back which only ShinobiFist, Cozby, VFnumber and I took advantage of hehehe.

The singles tournament was run smoothly, and the team tourney got a little hectic at first, but once the matches started the crowd was so into it and the trash talking ensued. The video streams throughout NYG made this event really unique and successful. It let the players who couldn't come, but love VF as much as those who did come be a part of the event and really just added to the overall enjoyment of the event

My personal favorite VF moment was getting so close to taking Adam out of the team tourney, but after a close back and forth of rounds 1-4 Adam pulled out a 5th round Excellent and crushed my hopes and dreams with Jeffrey's super sized knees.

    time for shoutouts...

    NYC crew
Adam: thanks for the awesome venue, and the even better match that I just talked about, that match will seriously be in my memories for a long time, probably the most intense match I've ever had. Your intense humor is one of a kind and is almost always quote worthy. Thanks for driving us back and forth from the city to Riverhead even during that crazy flash of heavy rain on the highway.

Rodney: I've learned a lot from you throughout the few years that I've been part of the NYCVF crew and I love listening to your mini lessons in VF tactics and techniques. Players/teachers like you are who keep our little community tight and improving. Giving away all those VF memorabilia also made the event really fun and feel a little more like an Event rather than just a play some VF session.

Shag: you always seem to be the life of the party making us laugh at anything. Our matches are always fun and I've learned alot of Goh tactics from you throughout the years as well and you're the main man when it comes to bringing beer to local NYC gatherings lol. Tournaments always run smoothly when NYC runs it thanks to experienced guys like you.

Oioron: you're the reason I'm playing VF in the first place. I remember how we started out just mashing 2K,K with Lion and now we've grown into the players we are. Thanks for all the freebies during NYG... thank you for supporting the things I do, and also occasionally questioning the more questionable things I do to keep my life on the right track.

Hayato: playing with you is always fun, and your love for the game is awesome. Your side comments during matches are always hilarious.

Denkai: being able to play a high level player like yourself has always helped my VF game grow.

Frankie: pool side chillin ftw, shit was fun. Talking to you is always fun, you got some funny ass stories dude. Our Wolf mirror matches were fun as hell, back and forth aggressiveness dude. I hope you make it to Hong Kong bro, then come visit me in Philippines!

Rowell: you're technically in NJ but you're practically an NYC VFer. I remember how you used to drive to Manhattan every week just so you could play VF with us, that was hardcore dude, that and driving to VA with a sprained ankle. We always have the funniest and most enjoyable matches b/c there's never any pressure, it's always a nice fun match between friends so we can always try the craziest shits. I'll miss our crazy/random death matches.

    VA crew
Flash: I've learned so many Wolf tactics from you that during NYG I remember Fulan joking that I was "trying to be Flash." But what some people don't know is that I've taught you some tactics here and there as well and its just cool that you stay humble when it comes to learning VF and will always try out the things that I teach you and give me feedback on it. Don't forget 63214P+K and 4K that Itazan taught us to abuse when spacing and remember to abuse 6K+G as well, especially vs El Blaze(cidkid's in particular who uses PPP alot). VA crew is a really formidable crew now thanks to your commitment to VF.

Dango: the rate you've grown as a VFer is crazy, I remember the first time I went to VA and you guys were just starting out and now you're such a crazy player, it's mind boggling. I hope you keep growing the way you do and just OWNNNNNNNN

Chris: my unofficial rival lol... everytime NYC and VA crew meets up I look forward to playing you to see how much you've improved. I think you catch me with splash mt. more than Adam most of the time, your flow is really weird and annoying in a good way since you beat me with it lol.

Geoffrey: like Flash said, your Vanessa is so creative and really works. I don't think we played at all this weekend, but you're always a cool dude to hang with which was half of the fun at NYG. Like I told AZ, you get the "pimped out VFer" award, the outfit was tight.

VA crew is growing to be such a tight crew, keep owning!

    FL crew
TFam: you're fucking hilarious dude, I can always respect a guy who doesn't mind making fun of himself to make some people laugh. Now I know why you have such good reputation in the VF circles. Just a cool laid back dude. I was surprised when we had our first matches at NYG, you got your game back real quick and wooped my ass. Thanks for telling me some stuff about Brad, I really don't know any frame data for him lol. Keep training hard man.

Ladon: I really love the way you play Blaze, and didn't mind losing so many times to a skilled and entertaining player like yourself. I wish I could've played your Blaze a little bit more so I could've learned a little more, but I enjoyed the matches we did have.

    Rhode Island crew
VFnumber: the new name kicks ass lol. That match with Rodney was wild. You really leveled up from the last time we played on XBL awhile back. Pool chillin ftw.

Cozby: that match vs CidKid was wild! We were all cheering for you bro. It was good to finally be able to play you and hang out. You have more guts than Frankie and went to the deep end, tha's wassup yo.

You two really represented RI giving two of the NAVF scene's top players a hard time in the tourney. I don't know how you guys can not only play on pads, but switch back and forth from analog to digital mid-match. Keep improving guys.
    --

KrsJin: it was cool to finally meet and play you. Your Jacky is so different from the Yosuke/Denkai template and is still effective that it just has to be respected. You're a cool guy to talk to and paired with Tony, you guys are just hilarious.

Fulan: our death match to 15 was really fun and close. You have so much potential as a player, and really use backturned Goh well. It was really cool just chatting with you and again, matches vs you are awesome. I really respect that you had the discipline to be fasting during a VF gathering, and also admire the fact that you weren't at any time at all grumpy or even in a slightly mad mood during the daytime hours, I think I would be lol.

Boyd: it's really cool that you can come back to the scene and just really enjoy yourself. Even though you haven't really played much VF5 your Jacky is still fun and effective. Hearing your old school stories and seeing the pics were a real treat.

KoD: it was cool finally meet you as well after talking to you on irc, although it sucks we really didn't get to play much.

DaBadSeed: dude your trash talking really made the team tourney fun and exciting, and not only did you talk the talk, but you walked the walk and was taking players out left and right. Good stuff man.

I think that's everyone that I wanted to shoutout to... if I forgot any of you guys, I'm sorry there were just so many people at NYG!!!!!!! I love you all. Once again, I'd like to thank Adam and Rodney and whoever else played a part in planning NYG and making it as kick ass as it was. It was a real worthy finale for me. Thanks to all the VF players that help the community grow and stay friendly and mature.

"omg they're part of that new gay gang Nyg7!" -TFam

Re: NYG7 "GO THE BALLS OR DO GO AT ALL" Sept. 4-7,

I want to thank Adam and Konjou for this event. I think Air Jacky there really summed it up but I wanted to throw my own comments on the table. You guys did an amazing job, seriously. This was my first gathering or even mass gamer gathering and it made a awesome impressions. As many of you know I didn't get to stay unfortunately so in the short time I was there I tried to talk to everyone I could and get a chance to play them. Each and every person far exceeded my expectations. Truly a great experience.

Cozby - Beast ass Lei Fei. You also look 15 lol. It was very cool meeting you, keep up for VF awesomeness.

    Krjin
    - It was a pleasure meeting you. We didn't get to play but we did go to the gas station, so thats a win.

ShinobiFist - Dude you showed me how not to be a douche with jacky so meeting you was great. You're a funny dude and well knowledged in the VF skillz. Thanks for the games.

    Adam
    - we didn't play unfortunately. Cant thank you enough for hosting NYG. You didnt look anything like Tom Cruise which through me off, but def a cool dude.

Konjou - It was a pleasure meeting you. You have taught me nearly everything I know about VF and every time we talk you teach me more. We also did not get to play but that was not a big deal, you gave me a great lesson randomly which is just awesome. Thanks and hope we meet again.

    Air Jacky
    - I had know idea you were old school. I mean i heard you were, but after talking to you and hearing your stories, whoa. You have a really good Jacky and it was cool getting to play you outside of XBL. Its always a pleasure getting matches in with you because you take some of Jackys most basic skills and make them work in ways I couldn't have imagined. Good stuff.

VF5395 - You ate your wheaties or lag just gives me wins lol. You seriously went beast on me and destroyed my Jacky! It was good times though and very nice meeting you.

    Denkai
    - Definitely cool meeting you. I watch a lot of our replays and really use your Jacky as a template for my own. You didn't fail to really show off while there either. It was absolutely amazing watching you play as Jacky. You did set ups and combos that are in no list I have seen. Matter of fact I think they were new to Sega as well. I hope we get to play some games again and give you a bit more of a challenge next time.

Fulanni - another person I didn't get to play unfortunately. But seriously Holland? Thats commitment. Hopefully we can get some online games in sometime.

Johoseph - Very tricky Goh, it was some fun games we had for sure.

Orion - Again another player I couldn't get any game time in with but you spent tons of time taking pics and making sure to get the right ones for the moment. Thanks for that!

If I missed you im sorry, there were lots to meet!

In the end this really opened my eyes to how great this community really is. I wish i could have been there for the entire event and meet you all. KoD, Flash, 75, VFHayato, and everyone else I missed the chance to meet, hopefully we get another chance.

As for what Air Jacky said about the time on each system, I didn't mind so much. I was one of the 30-40 minute people lol. It gave me a chance to learn different styles for each character and I was trying to milk all the time I could. The more advance players did have a system like a traditional arcade though, Slide, Denkai, etc were running a best of 3 system. So I really like the variety of tables.

A wonderful event. I was there for one evening and do not regret the drive at all. Thanks again and I hope this is annual thing from now on.

Btw, I think it was you that got the picture of me in my frog hat that I was going to use as my new avatar. Lemme know when you get your pics up (assuming it was you) so I can gank that photo!
