thanks! I think I will pat myself on the back as well. Playing against Ryan is really tough. I wish I could have played him more. Just to let everyone know. Homestay was not, I repeat WAS NOT playing seriously this whole trip. He was just having lots of fun. There was absolutely know reason to be in kill mode. He perfectly understood that MOST of us was not even close to being on his level. So I am sure he felt it was not necessary to play at his best. I had a chance to train with him on Wednesday night. He showed me so much shit that he could do with Akira that he NEVER even used through out the weekend..... Also Ryan we asked about the whole open / close stage thing and he only wanted to just switch the stage to an Evo stage. He didn't care if there was a wall or not. The old stage was just to small. I am not trying to start to war here so take it as you like. I also think you SHOULD post all the clips that you saved. Everyone knows how good you are, so showing a few clips of you getting raped is not going to change anything. Later!

Ryan, everyone knows you are a strong&talented player, and I know you are probably practicing hardcore somewhere to get to next level that you are striving for as well. Keep up the good games, and don't take the losses too seriously cause you are getting better by going through all those mid steps.

He knew it was a serious challenge. The Akira / Akira matches were not serious, they were just casual matches, that is why I havent really commented on those ones too much. Personally I didn't know why he didnt p,p,p,dbl plm either :?

When I was Kage he tried to work out my game as much as he could, I saw it and I felt it too. When someone is messing about they don't need to play that savage. I've been to Japan enough times to know when a player is playing seriously or not.

Also and this is 100% true, I PERSONALLY asked him why he changed to Arena (as he had free choice), I guessed he would say, "to use the walls", but he said that it was so that he didn't have to be worried about being rung out. He said this with his own mouth.

That was some really tight and cool (,+ /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif)play against jacky ryan. I'm keeping those vids on my computer since they have at least a certain level of comprehension for a simple noobie like me; which isn't allways the case with the Jap players /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif so they are really inspiring

Uhh...depends on how large your hard disk is and how much space it has left. If you've bought your computer in the last 2-3 years it shouldn't be a problem.

Regardless of whether Homestay was playing seriously or not, I'm glad you had a good showing to represent English-speaking VFers. I think the fact that he chose Arena instead of an open stage or a half-walled stage (e.g. Snow or Coliseum) does say something. Good job!!

On the other hand, I'm sure it's a lot funner to play wall stages with Akira, and playing on VF4c stages against Evo Kage sucks. I think so even when I'm Kage. Most of all, I have no doubt there was some degree of "must be polite in guest country" element involved...

I really think when Japanese greats know it's a foreigner/guest on the other side, they tend to take it a little easy. They're most savage when the guy opposite is just another anonymous Japanese player...
