    Oh man, more chances to play VF5 in seattle... yes, please! Just wish I had more time to play;;

On the plus side, I finally got a stick to practice on. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to make it to preppy's again next time, hopefully get more than two matches against you, yosuke.

    hello guys.

ejdge asked me if we can meet this thursday night. However, I sometimes enjoy with Japanese friends in my college. well,I can make a gathering this thursday, but Honestly, I don't want to play with one players for 6 or 7 hours straight. If you guys can get together more than 2 players, I will have a small VF party this thursday. If you bring a Ps2 pad or stick, we can play KOF94 to 02 or maybe other games on my computer.

Also, julian asked me if I am ok to play VF5 on sunday. However, I don't think I can have 2 gatherings in a week.

I am available form 3 PM until 10 or 11 pm on thursday. this time schedule might be changed by wednesday night. i would be fine as soon as I wake up on sunday.

If you have any intention to come, please let me know and write which day fits for you.

Count me out for Thurs. since I work 'till 11. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

On a personal note, exchanged my copy of VF5 for a brand new shiny one since the 360 I have scratched the shit out of it. Need to send that in ASAP. Just gonna practice combos on the demo version for the time being.

Same as Femto, thursday wouldn't be possible given my work schedule. Can't yet say whether I'll be free sunday either, though... so don't make your decision based on me.

I wish I could've. This weekend is busy, though. Getting home at 10 in the morning and getting straight to turkey day preparations for family would not be a good idea.

is there anyone who would like to visit portland during thanksgiving holidays to play VF?

If you are available, I would like to go with you. I am talking with Chanchai about portland vf trip during thanksgiving days, and it is very interesting. I could go there by train or bus, but it is more fun to visit with other players, you know? There is one more chance left I can play you guys at preppy's house....

This trip is like some portland 2D game players who visit preppy's party sometimes. vf players in portland are much forward and advanced level, so it is a good oppotunity for Seattle palyers to go there, see how they play, and play together.

Chanchai is very very good at teaching beginners.
...and we have no preppy's party this weekend as well.

    let's go guys!

When were you planning on going? I might be able to do Friday evening/Saturday.

At the moment, we're working out the details, but Yosuke is most likely spending Thanksgiving with my family. On Friday, he'll either be with me at work (which isn't as boring as that sounds) or he'll be hanging out with some Portland peeps (which I hope because that would be the most fun for him).

On Saturday, I'll be free at 6:30pm and I plan to really take Yosuke around and have a lot of fun. Then probably play fighting games in the later evenings. I even have a great place to play them /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

And then Yosuke will go back on Sunday.

I haven't talked to the Portland players about this yet because this trip isn't 100% yet, but I'm going to force it to work because I just wanna hang out with my pal before his Northwest Chapter ends...

Yosuke's on his way to Portland now, so I wanted to announce a VF get-together at Versis on Friday night.

I am hoping the Portland players can make it out to that! The problem for me is I can only give a couple of rides earlier in the day because I will be working from 6pm until close. I need to contact Dennis to see if he can go, but he'll only be able to take a couple people as well. Giving rides home isn't as much of a problem as getting people there and it's in Lake Oswego (can't wait for our second store to open next month in Gresham).

Anyways, if this get-together happens, a few things:

-We will set it up so people can play against Yosuke online (and other Portland players probably). One of our stations will probably be an online VF station.

-We will setup at least two local VF setups. One of them is PS3 version B, but the other is 360 version C.

-Please bring some arcade sticks for 360 if you can. I only have one for the 360, will need two more... I hope Ray can bring a couple.

I'll make a bigger announcement soon when I can get more people to confirm going.

It's been 5 days since Yosuke went back to Seattle and there's a lot to be said. I had a great time, a busy time, and it was wonderful having Yosuke over! THANKS YOSUKE!

    Yosuke
    1) Hope you enjoyed a true Thanksgiving Dinner at my family's house. My family enjoyed your company and my parents told me they liked having you over and you were no bother. Thank you for being a good guest!
    2) I hope you like what you saw of my work and where it's going. I think you can partly see why I'm so busy, though I don't think you saw all the tasks I run around doing when I'm not at the place.
    3) Thank you very much for spending time with the VF players who came out on Friday and Saturday. I really appreciate the advice you gave to us, the games you played with us, and as always just hanging out and chatting VF. And I am practicing VF a bit each day, even on my busy days (even if it's only 10 minutes).
    4) Your online matches were fun to watch. Especially against Konjou, Denkai, and Adam. And some others too! Thanks for doing the organized matches on Friday night! I think it was great that some VFDCers were able to play against you in an organized way, once in awhile.
    5) HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
    6) Oh yeah, I THINK I AM GOING TO PREPPY'S ON THE 7th!!!
    7) I'll see if I can drag Andrew over next week...

    Rayblade
    1) Thanks for coming out and thanks for the equipment!
    2) Thanks for being a great sport about everything and I think we can rebuild a good VF community in Portland. It's actually already here, we just need to organize. Also, Portland has some good VF players we didn't know about, I think. Rat Goat has huge potential and already knows the flow of the game.
    3) Just remember what I said about dodging. That's it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Another way to put it... You know that bad habit I have of doing rising attacks way too much, and with certain patterns? Something like that... You fix this in your game, you'll be way way stronger and giving me more hell.
    4) Awesome matches Friday night, you really gave me hell when we played and I really enjoyed that!
    5) Thanks for bringing the Evo DVDs!
    6) Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

    Mackinzie
    1) THANKS FOR COMING OUT MAN, I LOVE THAT YOU LIKE VF!
    2) Thanks for providing rides and the cake you brought was great too, thanks so much. We're gonna get more stuff going in the future /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
    3) You're playing well, you just need to play more. To the point that you feel more in tune with your character, but it's getting there. Your foundation is going alright, you just need to get more time in the game to improve your game for the time being.
    4) Happy Holidays Bro!

    Sam
    1) It's amazing the progress you made on Friday night. I know you soak things up like a sponge and it's no secret how much I believe in your potential.... but man, it was mad progress that I saw on Friday night. Whether or not the win/loss record shows it, I just saw it in how you were playing the game. KEEP IT UP!
    2) I want to play a lot of VF with you in December! We'll try to make it happen.
    3) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

    Raishinken
    1) It was really great seeing you on Friday. I hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving too. It's always fun with you around, a bit crazy too.
    2) Your Pai is and has always been very solid. At the moment, it's the same advice I gave to Mackinzie, the only thing that is slowing your growth right now is time with the game. You know that soon I'm planning to provide you with a means for playing more VF5 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif Let's work it out so we can see your Pai get insanely strong.
    3) You made it an even Happier Thanksgiving Weekend. Happy Holidays, man!

    Shinryujin
    1) Rock Band rules! Thanks for bringing that over on Thanksgiving.
    2) Your VF game is always fun to play, we just need to all play each other more and enjoy the games. On Friday night, I saw a big difference when you started to squeeze the advantages you had. I think that was actually your biggest obstacle for awhile, you were delaying your attacks too much and so people hit you when they should have been interrupted by you. But that started to stop on Friday ^_^
    3) Glad you like "the show." It's a great series. I also have another series to introduce you to later.
    4) Any way you can get next Friday evening off? I know it's hard, but I am trying to go to Preppy's then.

    RatGoat
    1) We met online after Thanksgiving. Belated HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
    2) You're a lot stronger than you think. Your game is going to improve a lot with time and making sure your nerves don't interfere with it. React more (which you are doing well), hesitate less (which is the nerves that kill you).
    3) I'm so glad that we have another VF player in Portland. But better yet, we have another really good VF player. Can't wait till we all meet up and play.
    4) Think you might be up for a trip to Seattle next Friday? I probably can't carry anymore in my car though...

    Andrew
    1) Hope you had a great trip!
    2) Belated Happy Thanksgiving! Man, Yosuke and I missed you man...
    3) Thanks for the heads up on Monday.
    4) Want to go to Seattle next weekend? I'll have to head back early Saturday.
    5) Looking forward to seeing you again soon, man. I'll also have to show you "Gresham" -- it's looking great already.

All in all, last weekend was an awesome weekend for Portland VF.

    Friday, December 7th, 2007...

There's going to be lots of VF as most of the Portland VF crew are going up to Seattle at Preppy's Twice a Month Poker Night. And Yosuke is hosting the VF segment of the night.

This gathering will probably be Yosuke's final Northwest Gathering for a long time. Alas... Yosuke will be leaving the Northwest in the near future... *cries*

The Portland VF players who definitely plan on going up to Seattle are: Chanchai, RaybladeX, ajs (Andrew), Raishinken, and FatBear (Sam Y).

    Personally, I can't wait!
