Northwest VF (Pacific NW, North America)

When is prize-pool for FS going to be announced? As a poor college student, I need that cash incentive cause I know I'll be winning.

I'd let chanchai win 3rd though, get a nice stroller for the new baby or something.

 

So hey, has anything been worked out for PAX attendees? :3

 

Nothing's been worked out yet, but I just sent another word out. If I was going this year, we'd get something going! Always fun hanging out with you, Zero ^_^

I don't think as many of the VFers are going to PAX this year, so nobody's really gotten a tournament or anything going. But I'll keep seeing if someone wants to take the lead. Do you know any other non-Washington players going to PAX? Maybe Haunts again?

Side Note: PAX is an awesome event, I advise anyone that can go, should definitely go to PAX Prime. One of my favorite events each year, even if it gets a bit more crowded each year (though often times that has to do with ticket counterfeiters).

 

So now I can talk a lot more about End of Summer 2012! The big regional tournament taking place in Seattle on September 22nd-23rd!

I am excited for EOS 2012 and this is going to be an awesome tournament with players from all over the place fighting to be the King of VF in the region!

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is at the event and will be able to accommodate over 200 VF players!

Furthermore, we want to make sure that everyone who wants to go, can reasonably go! On the Northwest VF Group on Facebook we are organizing discussions for people who are looking for roommates for the weekend to help lower their lodging cost as well as coming up with a sort of organized group-meal rate to make sure players get fed and are not worried about breaking out for lunch or dinner during the tournament and missing a match or getting lost.

While the budget-saving discussions are taking place on facebook in a private group, feel free to send me a private message (if you don't want to touch facebook) and let me know your situation or budget and I'll make sure to put you in the discussion! Response time can take up to 12-18 hours depending on the day and how busy I am but I will get to it and we're going to make sure that you can reasonably go (ie. you aren't going for free, but we're trying to help one another minimize costs)!

A reminder tonight that in Portland, X-Factor Fridays @ Best Bout Gaming is on tonight starting at 7pm and it goes until whenever (like probably 3am). Only costs $5 for a full night of gaming and training!

Also, tonight is a special night with AJS, Yangsing, and current Best Bout Beatdown Champion R_Panda confirmed to be training there tonight! I have also heard word from other players that they plan to go tonight, so it should be A LOT OF VF TRAINING IN PORTLAND TONIGHT!

There is also a special event, R_Panda vs. AJS in a moneymatch tonight! I don't know how much, but I believe it'll be contested in Tournament Final Rules. Should be fun!

Congrats to AJS in our money match. Two sets, no problems. I still have a long way to go.

 

GGs to Panda last night. The results didn't turn out but I could tell you had put some new wrinkles into your game vs Jacky. Keep working on strengthening your fundamentals! also to yangsing with the Jean/Kage/Shun triple threat.

Also hope to play more against Mac and Sam soon too!

Mm, I didn't make it out myself last night, just ended up with other friends. I might be at bb in Friday until like 930 or so.

 

This Thursday, tomorrow, is the Downtown Dojo's next big event! I'm expecting ten or more VFers easily, should be a great night. This event is not happening as often anymore, so if you can make it out to this one, do it! 7pm, 8/16/12

(LaGrande, OR) Fight Night @ Wired Gaming​

Unfortunately, the Free Fight Nights @ Wired Gaming in LaGrande, OR (Eastern Oregon) are temporarily suspended in light of recent incidents. This is only temporary however, and I believe Wired Gaming is handling this properly. Fighting lives on in Eastern Oregon, the weekly nights are just temporarily on hold.​

This is personally my favorite weekly because it usually works out for everyone and I'm a huge supporter of public venues ^_^​

$5 for Portland's regular night of fighting action and then some! Whether your goal is just getting better at VF or you want to squeeze in more competitive matches before Saturday's tournament, Friday is a great night for fighting in Portland!​

The session begins at 7:00pm and generally runs past midnight!​

REGARDING PAX PRIME
I believe the following players will be attending PAX this year:

• Zero-Chan (from NorCal)
• Zass30 (from Washington)
• Sorias (from Washington)
• FrankDaDank (I forgot his new handle, from Washington but I think he's working at PAX so his time is limited?)

I think it would be awesome if a local were able to setup an event on PAX weekend, maybe a scheduled session in the console room or a session outside of PAX and invite a lot of the VF players from the area around!
That said, Zero-Chan, I forgot how are your Thursdays during that week? I know you have a lot of Press Obligations, but there should be a Thursday Night Fights that Thursday in Lynnwood. This would probably mean you would need reliable transportation, but it could be cool. That said, I'll contact Femto/Mike B and DKN and see what their plans are that week if you're available for the Thursday!

BTW, Zero, I'll check to see if BBH is going to PAX this year. He told me you guys go way back, that's awesome (and you're both awesome people)!
