Thanks for the notes. As an aside, I'm pretty bad with names, so for any new players if I ask your name multiple times please don't take offense.

    Oregon stop beasting!

So yeah have dates to when my place is open for casuals but only one person responded. So assuming my car is cool, expect me to show up on either Tuesday or Friday during the first two weeks of August.

Were you posting on Facebook about how you were coming down? One of the guys at Best Bout last night was saying someone from Seattle was looking for me but I had no idea anyone from Seattle was coming down. I'm assuming BB dude read that wrong now. What dates exactly are you thinking to come?

We suck man, our first to three too like two hours to finish because we suck so much. Besides, you're from Oregon anyway, foo.

That was Frank that mentioned you AJ.

As for the dates I'm looking at August 10th and the 17th, possibly the 3rd, but definetely the 10th and 17th.

    Before this gets confusing

    AJ =/= AJS

Since we have a player named AJ and we have Andrew aka AJS.

Just a heads up: This coming week is a HUGE WEEK for VF in the Northwest!

I will post the schedule a little later (or sooner), but we've got casuals and tournaments all over the place as well as the beginning of some serious promotion of the End of Summer Tournament in September!

It's good to be a Virtua Fighter in the Pacific Northwest!

Thanks so much! It's exciting being a father now and while we are losing a lot of sleep, it is certainly wonderful being parents!

I'm so glad the fight goes on and everyone is bringing it! Keep it up! I am extremely happy to hear that the sessions have been awesome all over Northwest Oregon!

Anyone going to Dante's this saturday? I am not a lot better with Sarah than I ever was with Jean (I think) and can't wait to get some head-to-head practice in with her and see where I'm at. Hopefully I do better this time.

This weekend is looking awesome in both Portland (Best Bout Beatdown) and Seattle (Dante's, organized by GameClucks).

For Dante's, it looks like MasaRED is trying to make it out for that tournament! That is truly a treat and you guys are sooooo lucky to have him there if he makes it for that tourney! Seriously, get a lot of casuals in with that dude!

    THIS WEEK'S NORTHWEST VF EVENTS
This week is LOADED with VF activity in the Northwest! Two big tournaments, lots of casuals, and notorious online player MasaRED (also a notoriously nice guy!) might make an appearance!

This week is going to be exciting with many people having leveled up their game and a lot of new players ready to level up their game, now!

This week I will categorize the events by general area because of the amount of stuff happening.

    Seattle, Washington Area

Thursday Night Casuals @ GameClucks (Lynnwood)
    Thursday, 8/2
    5pm-10:00pm
This week the tournament is shifted over to Saturday @ Dante's. This is a casuals session featuring all your favorite fighting games and quite a few great players. You will also get a $2 discount for the Saturday tournament if you go to this event!

Saturday Slugfest II @ Dante's Seattle (Run by GameClucks)
    Event Page @ VFDC
    Saturday, 8/4
    Noon - 10:00pm
Seattle's premiere Saturday tournament! Tournaments for all your favorite games including Final Showdown and casuals to boot! All in a nice Seattle environment. While this tournament will not be livestreamed, it will be archived on YouTube. It looks like MasaRED might even make it out to the Slugfest, if there's a guy with a target on his back (and an awesome guy to compete against), HE IS YOUR GUY! Cheers!

    Eastern Oregon
Free Fight Night @ Wired Gaming (La Grande, OR)
    Thursday, 8/2
    7pm-closing (I think)
Eastern Oregon's premiere battleground hosts a free (for now) fight night for all challengers every Thursday. Go there, challenge, meet up, and rally the forces! Eastern Oregon is building a fighting force!
(page is temporarily down it seems, so here are the details for Wired)
    1402 4th St.
    La Grande, OR
    (541) 605-0090

    Portland, Oregon Area
Throwdown Tuesdays @ Best Bout Gaming
    Tuesday, 7/31
    7pm - VERY LATE (usually 2-4am)
$5 for a nearly all night battle session at Portland's premiere public fighting ground! Final Showdown is strongly alive and kicking in Portland and the scene is only getting stronger! Last week's session was on full blast with players across the spectrum. Stories were told! Come in this Tuesday to get your training on for this weekend's Beatdown on Saturday!

Casuals & Training @ The Downtown Dojo
    Thursday, 8/2
Late-night training sessions in Downtown Portland! These sessions are hosted by R_Panda so send him a Private Message for your access pass and information to the event. R_Panda has been very welcoming so far, but space at the Dojo is limited so get your RSVP in. These are private sessions so be respectful of the host, space, and everyone training at the dojo ^_^

X-Factor Fridays @ Best Bout Gaming
    Friday, 8/3
    7pm - Close
More all night sessions for the Portland fighters for only $5! A lot of training was had at the sessions last week, and even before a tournament this Friday's session is expected to be no different. In fact, the night before last month's Best Bout Beatdown there was a LOT OF TRAINING GOING ON.

Best Bout Beatdown 14 @ Best Bout Gaming
    Event Page @ VFDC
    Saturday, 8/4
1pm - SUPER LATE (VF tournament should end around 8pm, but casuals go on)
PORTLAND'S PREMIERE FIGHTING TOURNAMENT is in full swing and a wide field is expected for Final Showdown (which will begin at 5pm, but you must register very early). You get good casuals, awesome tournaments, and an amazing social experience in Portland's fighting game community here.

Casuals & Training @ The Downtown Dojo
    Sunday, 8/5
Late-night training sessions in Downtown Portland! These sessions are hosted by R_Panda so send him a Private Message for your access pass and information to the event. R_Panda has been very welcoming so far, but space at the Dojo is limited so get your RSVP in. These are private sessions so be respectful of the host, space, and everyone training at the dojo ^_^

THIS IS GOING TO BE AN AWESOME WEEK OF VF! I know it's already been pretty sweet for me, to be honest ^_^

There were twelve entrants in BBB14's VF tournament, making it the second largest tourney there! And we were missing enough people that, with their help, I think we could actually overtake SF4's 16 or so numbers. Pretty exciting stuff.

    Partial results:
    1. R_Panda
    2. Simon
    3. Jetay

Simon reset the bracket in Grand Finals, but couldn't keep the momentum going. I saved the replays of most of Winners and most of Grand Finals, but I don't think I remembered to save every match. I'll try to upload them soon.

Strong contenders Chanchai and AJS were unable to make it to the event, for various reasons. I hope they find the courage to return to the battlefield soon.

Well, for both Chanchai and AJS, not going is not for lack of courage [IMG] Trust me, we both really wanted to go--but decided that family responsibilities took more importance this weekend ^_^

What's most important though is that the scene is doing better than great!

Grats to R_Panda, Yangsing, and Jetay/Omne! Great stuff!

And I am very happy to hear that there were 12 out tonight despite myself and AJS unable to attend! Keep it up, Northern Oregon + Southern Washington!

I am also excited about the events in Seattle! The Dante's tournament had 9 entrants even after some of the regulars were unable to make it. Best of all, MasaRED has now made his offline tournament appearance in the Northwest!

MasaRED won Saturday Slugfest II, followed by Duncan T in 2nd and Mike B (Femto) at 3rd!

September has an awesome lineup of tournaments in the Northwest:

September 8th - (Portland, OR) Best Bout Beatdown 15 @ Best Bout Gaming

September 15th - (Seattle, WA) Saturday Slugfest @ Dante's (presented by GameClucks)

September 22nd-23rd - (Seattle, WA) The End of Summer 2012 @ The Red Lion (presented by Game Breakerz)

More details coming soon about The End of Summer, but it's going to be the big end of summer regionals and Final Showdown WILL BE THERE!

The Northwest Circuit has been pretty sweet and will cap off the summer in awesome fashion!

    -Chanchai

P.S. There's a chance that NorCal's Renzo will be coming to the End of Summer 2012 [IMG]

This was MasaRED's first time playing Final Showdown offline (though he's clearly been playing a lot online) and the first tournament he's been to in many years.

Matches have been archived and will be posted online soon! I will update everyone when those are available!

We got players from all over, including Oregon, Washington, and Idaho!

BBB14 wasn't archived, but most (if not all) of the Finals and Grand Finals matches were saved as replays so expect R_Panda to post those matches online soon!

    Cheers, Northwest!

Yo, so the registration is up, I am going to know for sure by Tuesday if I can make EoS. The reason being is I'm transfering for my job and have to let the new place know.

However if Oregon comes out and we get our players, there is no reason we can't have buff turn out. It'd be nice to see the guys from up north come out, as well as the people who only play online.
