Terrible news. STA was really convenient for the East Bay crew thanks to the easy BART access. I'm worried another venue will create travel issues.

On top of that, it was just a really nice place with a great community and it's a shame it won't be staying around.

I just bought 2 more evo monitors. I already have 3 ps3's and 1 xbox loaded with vf and all dlc. If someone is able to bring 1 console then there will be 5 vf setups total. We should be able have casuals and a tourney simutaneously at my crib if it gets crowded enough. I have room to comfortably fit 18 players but can manage a few more with a lil bit of creativity.

Me too, and I really want to hang out with Bay area players. Perhaps I can go to cobraton's place at least once before X'mas, as long as he could still host as usual.

Forgot to say it before I left, but big thanks to 001 for hosting the tournament today. It means even more now that southtown is closed.

thanks for coming out. it means alot to me when we get good turnouts like this for a simple side tourney and really shows how dedicated our players are.

congrats to the winners renzo, airegin, eastbaykage. alot of really good play overall from everyone and reminded me how much i need to step my game up.

also wanna say thanks to capsule entertainment and final bout crew for letting us participate in this event. please show them some support by liking them on facebook and following them on twitter if you can.

Joe from Capsule Entertainment posted this on the NorCal VF Facebook group. Probably a good idea to post any gatherings you know of that are going on regularly:

"This list is for players looking for places to play near them. If you hold sessions or tournaments and wish to be added to this list, fill out the template provided in the thread and PM me the completed information."

Something annoying to me has came up just recently so i wont be able to host casuals this weekend. Also Im going to the 25th anniversary street fighter tournament next weekend which means casuals may either start later or be postponed until the following Saturday Dec 15th. Sorry to anyone looking forward to games today. Hopefully everyone can make it to the next gatherings/events eg. cobratron's or Starbase arcade even though the busiest time of the year is looming.

Starbase is going to be difficult for me, but I hope everyone else can make it. Does anyone know of another meetup spot that we could go to besides Starbase? There's Gamecenter in San Mateo and maybe Milpitas Golfland but that's all I can think of right now.

This will be a bit of a rant so please be aware of that...

This past weekend NEC 13 happened on the East Coast and if you are not aware, most of the top players from the East Coast did not make the event.
I DO NOT want to see the same thing happen during this event. If you live on the West Coast. San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Arizona, Vegas, Northern California, etc... Then mark January 18th-20th as a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday that you are going to be in Irvine for Socal Regionals.
    SEE YOU ALL THERE!
