1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. 2. I like Wolf, but I also like using characters nobody else really uses. It's why I use Hulk in MvC3 and T. Hawk in Street Fighter. I also have a thing for hefty characters, so Taka should be fun.

    Dat ass.

I'll probably play around with Wolf from time to time just to have a pocket Wolf ready, though. Once I get used to the game enough, I may just use random as my "I'm all out of options" card, so I can yell "Let's get random!" on Fridays. :D

Taka is better than Wolf anyway. Not to mention a lot easier to use. :p

So I have a schedule conflict this week: A friend in Emeryville is hosting a BBQ Saturday afternoon/evening. While I want to play some VF, my friend doesn't hold these events too often, and I really want to go far at least a little while.

So, I was thinking that maybe one of the East Bay folks crossing the Bay Bridge to get to Cobratron's place might be able to swing by Emeryville in the early evening so we can head on down together. Would anyone be able to help out? I'll be happy to cover gas/toll costs!

How active/big is the norcal scene? I've always wanted to play VF but a lot of things did not align. Now that FS is out, it'd be a good opportunity to start learning. I live in Hayward.

It's pretty active around these parts! A little splintered, yes, but our gatherings are always entertaining :D

I believe Renzo drives in from Hayward sometimes, maybe you can coordinate.

To the regulars, sorry I couldn't make it tonight, the shindig lasted longer than I thought and there were some key folks there I needed to chat with!

There are a few pretty active east bay players, namely EastBayKage, AirEgin and Akuma001. Cobratron has gatherings at his place in SF every Saturday, and we usually get a pretty good-sized group of anywhere from 7-10 people. Currently, we're gearing up for the next SouthTown Arcade ranbat season, which should be starting fairly soon.

Ali has some great news for a possible weekly streamed VF tournament to be held at Academy of Art College. I think he will leave details and info on it tomorrow but it sounds very promising from what he told me so far.

Anyways i'm hosting casuals tomorrow as usual starting at 5:30pm.

No casuals this weekend since I'll be out of town.

See everyone at the next STA ranbat

Shit. I just saw this. Was hella looking forward to playing some VF too. Ah well. I'll be at Gamecenter in San Mateo tomorrow if anyone wants to come down and play. Will be playing SCV and Tekken as well.

  16. Oh man, I got to use my Taka-Arashi against a human for the first time this weekend. Got my backside handed to me by DKL's crazy Akira, but it learned a good bit about the matchup and had a blast. It was part of the Freedemonia 24-hour livestream for Extra Life. Next year, I think we're going to organize it better and try to make it big (we didn't do all to well this time). I'm thinking there needs to be more VF in 2013...you know, for the children.

Of course, I'm falling in love with Taka. The next season of STA ranbats can't happen soon enough. Especially since I'm starting a retail job and I'll need to know when I can't work. :p

I've been home sick with a horrible cold/flu since Tuesday.

I'm feeling better overall but not sure I'm well enough to head to STA tonight. Gonna take a nap and see how I feel when I wake up. Casuals pending also depending how I feel tomorrow. *Crosses fingers*

Damn, people dropping like flies. Hope we actually get a good number of entries tonight. I have to work late so I can't make it. East Bay, STAND UP!
