Hmm, so many areas I need to work on in my game, feel so so rusty at it, thing is, it only comes toegtehr after blaytant practice...still going to get stuck in tho.

I'm well into 3s now Scott, so is Ade. Going to learn Ken, Akuma, Chun Li, Urien, Remy and Yun, game's top.

Plus read my sig...I'm taking squid man to top tier!! lol He has some sick set ups with his little squids plus his down + kick attacks have RANGE.

    Same again for next sunday?

    PS: JACKY IS TOO MUCH!!!

    EDIT:

Ade check the link, there is some good stuff about 3rd strike there. Well, I found it useful.

At least i didn't get white washed by anyone.

I think if i didn't play the sheer amount of beat 'em ups I do, i would be pretty good at VF4 evo, but i might save that kind of dedication for VF5.

You are ok at VF at the moment, and with practice you could become better. The thing I noticed about your play was that you tend to evade everytime you are on a disadvantage, leaving yourself wide open to full circular attacks and failed evade float starters. Another thing you could work on is trying to use throw escapes, they can save you from big damage and make using throw counterable moves much less risky. Other than that I think you played pretty well, you were harder to beat than Chris and Ade IMO, and so if you dedicated some time to VF, you would probably get some decent skills.

Alternatively, you could just pick Kage...

    Nice one Matt.

Ade, surely you have to come for this sunday, there will be 4 of us (count em! 4!!! lol) plus you haven't played Matt at VF yet.

We'll make the day into a VF/3rd strike day seen as tho we all now play 3rd strike.

Same as last time, some casual VF, then a massive 4 play tournament, then some 3rd strike.

Got my new PS2 yday, can't believe how small it is! The sc2 stick is bigger than it! Plus it never switches off from standby...you can't leave it plugged in all the time you have to unplug it at the mains.

    Got GT4 as well, sick.

Playing 3rd strike last night, learning Yun and Urien as my mains atm, they have some sick stuff and will use Ken and Akuma when the dryness kicks in. Also goin to use a bit of Remy and Chun Li. Good thing is, it's not like VF in the way that you can play loads of chars as long as you know 2D inputs ie SF2 inputs...VF requires a whole lot more plus it takes pure dedication to master more than a few chars.

Oh and you know squid man and dinosaur mofo (Hydron and Hauzer) they were actually boss chars in Red Earth and you couldn't actually pick them. That's why they're so fecking huge.

I leave my PS2 on, what's wrong with that?

I read somewhere that it's bad to leave it on standby for so long.

The original PS2s had the on-off switch as well as standby mode so you could always leave it plugged into the mains as you could just switch it off.

The new slimline PS2s have no on-off switch...as soon as you plug them into the mains they are in standby mode. As far as I understood, it's not good to leave the new PS2s plugged in on standby mode all the time.

I don't get why they wouldn't put on on-off switch on them tho, weird.

Plus, think of the wasted energy and damage we are doing to Mother Earth! lol

I have a slim line and I leave it on stand-by all the time; it's hasn't done any damage to it. I figure that they would have put an on/off switch on it if there was a need for it to be switched off when not in use.

Yeah, I guess it won't be that bad for it. Still can't believe how small it is, now even the GC looks massive compared to it.

    SUPER UBER MEET VI

Guys, about this sunday we've got the following heads coming:

    LM_Akira
    Kaworu
    Xeion
    (Northern_Ninja???)

I'll try and see if Synth, Umer, Jie Lun or Ramsey want to come.

It'll be VF4:Evo and 3rd Strike day. Tell your friends. Could do a mini (2 char per person) tourney for both if peeps are up for it...more interestingly, we could throw some money in a pot for the winner to take.

    Who's up for that?

    UPDATE:

Only been on a few dates so far, but getting on well.

Rinsing 3rd Strike, finally learning to parry! Ken and Akuma are sick as fuck, although still love Hugo!

  16. LM_Akira

    LM_Akira Well-Known Member

What's she like then? Hair colour, age, interests, favourite turn-ons? etc...?

Yeah, Ken and Chun Li are so blatantly top tier it's stupid. Akuma is sick but he takes mad damage, plus there's loads of 100% combos for him around.

For me it's all about Yun, Yang and Urien atm.

Aegis reflector is too much fun!!!

Besides that, I'll be trying to get my Akira sharpened up for sunday.

LOL, I don't kiss and tell!

Not played VF in a while now, all about 3rd Strike, too much fun.

I love Yun Yang and Urien as well, but there too fiddly for me if I'm being honest. Love camping out and throwing with hugo, LOL.

Yun and Yang are as close to Akira's style as I've seen in a 2D fighter...all elbows, palms and bodychecks. Get in. Plus they both have a cancellable double palm and some sick juggles/sick supers in the right hands.

Urien is hilarious, bouncing mofos between 2 aegis reflectors (you can even do it with 3 if you're skanking infinite super bar in practise.)

Flip's sake Ade where are your priorities! Whats all this girlfriend malarky about when you've got real actual human people to play on vf? Having heard you guys go on about 3rd strie so much I had a go theother day. Its actually a pretty good game. I dont know who any of the non SF characters but the normal SF ones seem much the same (which is good). My Akuma is still a mean mofo after all these years just takes a bit of getting used to to parry. And whats with only having one super move and not the 4 that he had in Alpha 3? (which also included the sickest move in any fighting game-the one that could take off half your bar) As I've noone to play against I have stored it away for another few years whic is a shame cos I used to play Alpha 3 loads at the arcade and it was great. OK ramble over-please someone check out my match with Optimus a couple of pages back as it took me bloody ages to get on T'internet. :p
