How do you perceive our styles to be then? And why do they differ? (I think they do too but I am interested to hear your thoughts on it).

    Just got in work today.

Well Andy, I'll try and explain, there's nothing wrong with disagreeing BTW, it's all good discussion whatever way you look at it.

I think you know more 'tricks' and have better command input than me, especially in TFT juggles. I actually rarely use TFT anymore and concentrate on flow charts. I think this is because Kage is REALLY good (IMHO) for flow charts as he has loads of unthrowable on block moves, not to mention half circular's, so you can 'zone' your opponent out with him.

I think I'm more old skool than you with Kage, for instance I use the 'back dash to make them whiff then punish' tactic that has been around for ages a lot, you attack with frame advantage more, which I guess it what you 'should' do I suppose, but I concentrate on defense more than attack and have 'turtle' tendencies, where your more attack based.

You do much better juggling with me generallt (outside of TFT) and I have learnt a few wall combos from yourself (e.g. Hit Wall b+p,k df+k+g I didn't know you could do until I say you do it).

I think this is why VF is better than all the other fighters out there, most others wouldn't allow the same character to be used defensive and offensively succesfully.

Well, your free to add your own comments, if you disagree, cool, it's better to discuss than argue.

Sup guys, back in the office after 2 days working from home.

Ok, it's all go for sunday for those that can make it...which is probably just Scott and Matt tbh. Don't worry about it the rest of you, hopefully we can sort out something else in the near future that we all can make. I just wanted to have a session to break the new guys in and get back into the swing of things.

Let's make it around 12-4 or something.

Ade, why is it exactly that you were banned from there? I don't see how they could take that much offence from what was said. I've seen far far worse things before on sites and nothings ever been done about it.

Oh I have a new phone too so I'll PM folks my new number.

Bascially I was banned because cos Kay (Lion Player who's shit) called me a fat bastard, so I called him a faggot (which is ironic cos he IS bissexual LOL) and I got banned.

It doesn't matter, the only decent people on there is Will and Kennedy. It's just run by (and you CAN quote me on this) 'stuck up their own arse shite London gamers who never made it big' who work 'in the business' and think they run the fucking world, when in actual fact are just shit.

Will's a safe guy and Kennedy is a top Tekken player, but everyone else is just a dick. Christ on Tekken Zaibatsu I have seen MUCH MUCH worse, and I was fighting fire with fire in that situation. It was meant as a joke, but they have lost someone who just pitying them, and it's no loss in the long run.

Anyway, I don't want to bitch, but what I am saying is the truth, so 'no worries mate!'. LOL.

If I don't go out on Saturday night, I should be able to make it, it's just I probably will be out. I'll let you know if I'm coming.

Hmmm, seems to be much ado about nothing really, they have been far worse things said (like on here or TZ as you say) online without people getting banned it's crazy.

Oh yeah, Scott, just to be safe can you bring your PS2, cables and evo with you as well please when you come, just in case we have more than 4 players coming, cheers.

Time to get into some hardcore Akira training again I think.

I agree completely Chris, it's just proves how stupid they are. Faggots (LOL).

Training with Kage, Sarah and Jacky as per usual.

If you judge the distance right you can do TFT> knee> bP,K (WALL)> dfK+G

Actually if you judge the distance UBER right (and it's narrow) then you can do tft> knee> bP,K> bP,K(WALL somewhere around here)> dfK+G

That one probably only works on certain characters though, haven't really tested it.

Most of my "tricks" I learned from Faded and a few from videos.

Yeah, and if you press [4][6][P] with Jeff it does the Kenka Hook.

    Broken Hook you mean.

Jeff is way overpowered and should get moves with some integrity. Like TFT.

Woo, had some great games today ^_^

Thanx again Chris, your Akira is scary O_O

Ade: your sarah is sooo annoying, and your wolf was pretty awesome.

Wolf is 'tings'. So practising with him loads now, love him. Gonna practice and go to the next RB in Laaandon I think.

And Nina is too much in T5.0, LOL.

    Bloody Nina @_@

I thought my Goh wasn't too bad, just gonna stick with him from now on.

When do you think we could have another session? Because sunday was good fun ^_^

  15. LM_Akira

    Hey all.

    Yeah, good session on sunday having only 3 meant we could all get plenty of games. For anyone interested character usage was;

    LM_Akira: Akira, Aoi, Goh
Northern_Ninja: Kage, Jacky, Wolf, Sarah, Lau
Kaworu: Goh, Lion, Akira, Aoi, Brad

Loads of good games, some tight 3-2 wins and some sick comebacks lol

    Combo of the day: [4][6][P]+[G] > wall > [P][K] > knee (Akira)

Skank of the day: [6][P][P] (Goh)

Quote of the day: Why don't you sleep on it?

    lol

Scott your Goh is very solid. Good hit-throw ratio and throwing game. Ade, where the hell did the Wolf usage come from? lol some dry games.

T5 has messed up my VF inputs so bad but now with a bit of practice we should be able to get things back again.

How about this sunday for another VF meet? Same place, same time.

Nina is fucking horrednous in T5.0, get rid of her Namco, she ruins the game! lol almost as bad as Steve. Bring on DR manchester.

This Sunday is fine with me ^_^

I really wanna get back into this, I'll start practicing this week (when i have some free time, bloody work ;_; ) . My Goh should be better for Sunday.

Should be able to make Sunday, depends if I'm out on Saturday night.

Used to use wolf back in VF2 and VF3, it's all flooding back for me for Wolf.

My Kage was shit yesterday if I'm being honest, must do better next time, but still wanna concentrate on Wolf for the time being, such a great character.

Sunday is def still on for peeps who can make it. If that boils down to just me and Scott...well, at least we'll get plenty of practice.

Been caning Quest the last few days, got my sde buffer nice and fast again just need to work more on defense options and certain inputs.

I'll post on TZ to try and sort out a meet when Synth is around.

My throw escaping is getting better, plus I have leart a bit more about goh's frame data.

    See you sunday!

Cool. If you want Goh frame data go here...

    http://virtuafighter.com/commands/index.php?chara=goh&ver=evob

Remember that anything that is less than -8 on block is "generally" safe (i.e. you generally won't get thrown or hit when you're still in disadvantage if you put in inputs) as throws take 8 frames. Anything that is over -11 on block is hit-counterable (by fastest jabbers), anything that is over -14 on block is elbow counterable and anything over -16 or so...well, is just dodgy to spam out! So don't! LOL

If you've just done a move that's around -14 or so on block, it's a good idea to use E-XXTE-G, ie evade, enter XX amount of throw escapes and hold guard down afterwards to avoid whiffing any throw attempts.

Thing with throw escapes is knowing your opponent characters best throws, AS WELL as how your human opponent plays their character and how they use their chars throws.

I used to have full print outs of all chars frame data somewhere...it's generally more important to know frame data in VF than Tekken since Tekken's frames don't generally match stuff that makes sense (eg, big move blocked can = big advantage in Tekken, big move block nearly always = big disadvantage in VF).

Creed's quick start and Hiro's memorandum on Goh are both worth reading.
