Yup, as posted on Zaibatsu, cheers for the Disc Scott.

Never did play Matt, but seen him doing well. Did better than I thought I would with Hugo and will practice tons more now. And am rinsing CVS2, Dhalsim, Zangief + Other is my team of choice. Forgot how much fun MVC2 is as well, even though it's cheesy. CFJ is crap, but Zangief is too much in it, LOL, so will play it, but JUST for fun I think.

3rd Strike is too good, loving it tons, am mastering Oro's skank super juggle (cheers Scott!), but it's still all about Hugo for me.

Top games and UMER IS TOO MUCH! Respect due.

    Sup guys.

Scott: How exactly did you take apart the plastic plug? I tried just pulling it at first but it wouldn't budge. What did I say tho guys, I knew it was something to do with both those connectors being pushed in, can't understand how it happened.

Dan: You HAVE to come up some time now, we have a decent scene for VF and big Tekken scene and now a MASSIVE 3rd Strike scene (compared to other games lol) so if you want to play it, come up, 2 set ups n all!

    AFTER EIGHTS SESSION OF MADNESS

Haha who woud have thought it, the 8th week in a row of meets and we have 8 peeps showing up! Props to all those who came, problem was, there was so many people in the kitchen (bloody chinese having some fucking banquet in the background and bloody Vincent and his mate going off on one in French all day) organising a full on 3S tourney would have been complete hell.

But I promise we will do next week (once my sticks back up and running) as well as getting in some variation like VF or T5. Here's who we got showing up:

LM_Akira (Ken, Akuma, Urien, Yun, Yang)
Kaworu (Oro, Necro, Remy, Dudley, Ken(?))
    Northern_Ninja (Hugo, Ken(?), Chun Li)
Umer (Yun, Ken, Akuma, Chun Li)
Jamile (Akuma, Ken, Ryu, Chun Li)
    Ramsey (Ken)
Matt (Scott's bro) (Akuma, Yang, Ken(?))
    Gavin (Ken)

    Hmmmm Ken got rinsed!

We also got in loads of CvS2 and Tag (Well, Umer did, handing out the beatings Mishima style) but when it came round to a few games of Guilty Gear, 2 sticks died simultaneously cutting the meet short.

But basically we got in mad games of 3S (on the day of the 3S RB down in London!)

It's an old game but it's too good. Some impression's:

Matt: Raw fireball dryness! Your Akuma set up and combos were sick man, very nice and your Yang is pretty decent too. I need more practise parrying!

Gavin: Didn't play you but your Ken looked decent.

Ramsey: Again, good Ken, even tho you've hardly played the game, get practising and get to more meets!

Ade: Didn't play you at all but Hugo is TOO MUCH! haha Gigas Break to death!

Scott: Solid as always. Necro pisses me off lol but I'm getting there.

Umer: Crazy Yun man, loads of Genei Jin madness. Very consistent play, need to practise my Yun a lot more. Your Mishimas are too much!

Jamile: Didn't play you but some nice shoto stuff. And nice Tag matches.

Overall, a top, busy session. Far too many fights to recall, next time we'll organise a league into knockout tourney.

    Laterz!

First get a thin blade, (jamile was right about where it comes apart only it's near impossible to just pull it off) so hold the plug up with the wire hanging down (the plug is separated in two parts)

Push on the top half of the plug and you should see the the plug open a bit, stick the blade in the gap just to keep it open and then lever it out, then just push the pin back in place and pop the top part back in the plug.

guys can u break your fall in 3rd strike?

  6. kaworu

    kaworu Member

No, your opponent has all the options when your in the air.

You can only be hit 6 times while your in the air.

Certain moves that hit you when your in the air cause the opponent to "reset" the character then lands on his feet rather than his back, from there you can go into overhead/low/grab mix up.

    To mirror my TZ post:

    REPENTANCE AND ATONEMENT TOURNEY 9

Well, another stupendous turn out for the 9th meet in a row...yes, that's me, Scott and Umer. Only games was 3S, got brucked my Scott, no idea why I was playing so badly. Think I play the game too much in training mode without actual fights and need to read up on some more faqs. Umer's Yun owned as usual, genei jin is sick!

The session also started of with some old skool madness; Game gear Sonic, Sonic 3 and Golden Axe whilst Scott and myself awaited for the many, many hardcore fighting fans to show for a session.

Oh and there was a celebrity guest appearance by a current PS3 programmer.......Steev! (Nakura) So me and him rinsed PES5 and had some totally gay games of DOA.

Same again this sunday...hopefully we can have a decent turn out. This sunday may actually be the last meet we have for a while (or it may be the second last, have to see atm). Basically I really want to run a decent 3S tourney soon and maybe even have a (seeded) Team Battle with prizes for the win so get heads up for it!

It's all about Yun, Urien, Yang and Ken training from now on...

    GENEI JIN!!!

    *bump*

    Yo north crew!

Ok, most of you will have gotten a text from me last night talking about the possibility of official north based RBs, like the london ones. This would also include something like a bi-yearly meet up with some of the guys from the EZone based RBs. Basically the idea is to promote fighting games that people want to play and improve the scene up here as much as possible.

We know we have a good scene for 3S and Tekken (in Manchester at least) but we now need to decide on what games could be held at the RBs. I need as much feedback from as many different people as possible. This is all just a pipe dream atm as well...it could be a couple of months before we even make some progress. The idea is to get as many people interested as possible and then hear their voice about what they want to play.

I'm going to start a thread on the RBUK site:

    http://s13.invisionfree.com/Ranking...dex.php?act=idx

and will post all the relevant information about things there.

I'm thinking of taking people's top 3 suggestions for a RB game...maybe top 3 excluding 3S because as we know, that has a massive following down south and has a very good healthy scene in Jenny's and home meets. So basically that's a guaranted game. I want to hear from others about what other games they'd want to play to a high competitive level.

Obviously there would be a price to play as well...we'd need to find a suitable location to hold the RBs in and hiring space = paying to play.

So...I'll start the thread on RBUK, try to get in touch with as many fighting game players as possible up here and see how it goes.

    EDIT:

    http://s13.invisionfree.com/Ranking_Battles_UK/index.php?showtopic=132

There's the place all your suggestions and comments will be going.

Dan, if you're reading this did you get my text? I've not heard back from you in while but saw you were online the other day.

Please check out the thread in the edit link, I'd appreciate your feedback.

Shaun, is Andy coming back to the UK any time soon?

Sup anyone still reading this, if you don't already know, Ironmike is now back in Manchester (looks like for a good while too atm).

That increases the (serious) VF players here slightly (obviously) so if anyone up here is willing, we could hold a meet some time soon and try to get all the old players to crawl out of the woodwork for it. Blow off the dust from your copies of Evo and get practising again in the long, long, long wait for VF5...

Who's up for a gathering in Bath for one day during the week of the launch of vf5 on ps3? I may be able to get the funds up for a ps3 setup but is anyone else likely to instead?

yup, planning ahead! Would like to come and play FT but paying £50 to get down there and then shelling out quids all day isnt possible. may come down for a ps2 matchup like I have done before tho.

LOL That's some serious forward planning Dan, LONG time to go yet.

Manc is currently dead for 3D fighters atm, everyone's playing A3, 3S or GGXX/. Have you got the Alpha Anthology/Zero Fighter's Generation yet? Arcade perfect A3 along with A1, A2, A2Gold, Pocket fighters, arrange games AND a stupid Hyper Alpha mode.

  18. Rayne

    Rayne Well-Known Member

Yeah I saw about that, I loved Alpha 3 back in the day. Same old problem tho-nobody to play so I wont bother getting it. Have been playing the extreme macho-ness of Kingdom hearts 2 *cough*. Good game I tells ya. Been waiting years for Okami to come out and its nearly here in a couple of weeks time, save your money for that Chris its got awesome reviews and looks brilliant. Down to Earl's Court 2 tomorrow, do you know if thats anywhere near the new final tuned? Could maybe drop in for a few games.

Don't get too despondent Dan, the game's sick fun even if you have no one to play, you can spend hours training your Vism combos etc...it's well worth getting I reckon as then the next time we all meet (whenever or where ever it may be) we'll be able to play it.

I'm using Gen atm, used to use him back in A2 as well. He's supposed to be better in Zism than Vism as he can do some serious damage with his different level supers. Ade s practicing V Ryu and V Akuma as well as his main SF char Dhalsim, think Scott is using V Ryu. Oh I'm also using Karin, love her fighting style all elbows and palms, she's supposed to be better in Z than V as well.

As far as I know, only casino have FT in and they're having a few slight setbacks with sanwa sticks being installed on it (check the thread) but other than that I don't know of any other FT cabs over here.

As Chris said, MC is all about 2d games at the moment, GG and 3rd Strike being rinsed the most I guess. Still not even got bloody DR, pathetic IMHO.

Guess it's best to 'go with the flow' and rinse em, although am gutted about missing FT, I would be caning that if it was in Jennies.

When VF5 comes down Dan, I will travel down defo, I remember going to arcades back in the day (in late 94) to Bath, loads of sick heads on Alpha 1, Super Turbo, X Men COTA, Turbo,Killer Instinct, MK2, Tekken 1 etc.

Am planning on learning that new wrestling guy (forget his name LOL) for VF5, Ray Mysterio style! Looks proper fun.

Anyway, getting KOF11 in a hour, can't wait!

See you in a bit Chris. Bo.
