    Welcome everyone!

Check out the Local Scene section if you are looking for some offline competition.

Check out the XBL or PSN section if you are looking for some online competition.

And if you play online and want to try some organized online events, check out the VF Circuit section (yeah, this is blatant advertisement for the stuff I am running :p)

    Hi All,

I'm new to VF and I'm having a blast at this game!
I bought the complete edition on PSN a couple of weeks ago, I've also found a used copy of vanilla for basically nothing.
Anyway, I picked Goh from the beginning, learned the basics, went online a few evenings, played the odd 80 matches, lost them all (well, almost). I'm also alternating between the Dojo and Arcade mode to learn different opponents, and I have to say, this game is very rewarding once you start understanding its flow. I wish I discovered it before.

Well just an update. I have been playing for a few weeks now and have stuck to learning just one fighter for online play which is the most known fighter; Jackie. However I am pretty familiar with his moves. Online is quite competitive as most people have a few thousand games under their belt. I have no record to brag about but have held my own in matches with high ranked fighters. I just finished my 300th game online. I am holding at hunter level and have won about 106 of my 300 played so it's not a good record but I fight whomever and I figure if I play the best, then I will learn more quickly. I don't nearly get rolled as much (0-3). I have had numerous 2-2 matchups where I lost in the 3rd round to some stiff competition. I seem to have the most trouble with Aoi, Sarah, Venessa and I have come across a really good El Blaze. I love this game and wish I got into it when it came out. I've played fighters my whole life and played the original VF 1 in the arcades quiet a bit. I mostly play shooters now but I am hooked on VF5 FS most definitely. I don't see myself ranking too much higher as the competition is just too fierce and I only can play a little bit each day. But I was pretty glad I was able to rank Hunter against some really good players. This is the most balanced fighter I have played as the lowest tiered fighters can wreck havoc if they know what they are doing. To me, this game is to fighter's what counter-strike is to shooters (my main game). Perfection.

I would like to say something about me and about VF.All i want to say by now is that im just new to vfdc but not that new on vf.I've decided to come into this community because its not a simple one, people who plays this game knows how to appreciate a fighting game, they look not for graphics and menus, but for the gameplay and of course, the community playing behind each character.

Hello, I'm The 11th Kyu God, I'm the best of the worst! That's about it!

But serious talk, I've been playing Virtua Fighter since I was 6, first VF is VIRTUA FIGHTA FOUR. I'm planning on expanding mah wickedy whack skills (god I'm white) on The Virtuama Fightas. Cause I love the games. A lot. Think that game might be what I forte in. But even if it ain't, I'll still love the Virtua Fighter series, it had a huge impact when I was a youngin, I ain't gonna hate it anytime soon. Also other franchises I like are Street Fighter, Tekken, King of FIghters, Samurai Shodown, and Darkstalkers. I hope this little intro is isn't too annoying.

    Hello VFDC

I just downloaded VF5FS yesterday after watching some random match footage of various VF games a couple of nights ago. I had some spare MS Points on my account and decided to say "fuck it I'mma pick up VF5FS". Coming from mainly 2D-fighting background (Capcom Vs. SNK 2 and the Guilty Gear series are my all-time favorites), I have little experience in 3D-fighting games (some Tekken and a little bit of Dead Or Alive).

Always thought VF was fun to watch but could never be up to trying it out until now. ^_^ Struggling to learn the basics (like with any other fighter) but having a blast so far!

I bought VF5FS when it was on sale on XBL. Practiced a bit but noticed that the online was pretty dead.

Anyway, I'm just having trouble finding a FG out there that I can really get into and dedicate myself to and I'm hoping VF can be that one. Hit me up if you want to spar or if you're new to the game and looking for a practice buddy. It's always better to learn together.

Online ranked on XBL isn't very active that is how it has been for awhile. People are playing FS on XBL though they are in rooms or Player matches. Online on PSN have more people and playing ranked there will allow you to play more people in general. You should ask around as far as who is starting up rooms on XBL or you could tell us via the shoutbox you want some matches and someone close to you can play you. Welcome to VFDC.

Thanks for the heads-up, though I won't be playing online that much. Want to get down the basics at least. I'll probably ask for some matches every so often though. ;)
