I'm new here. I like long walks on the beach and beating in skulls with my Yakuza fists. I also like to partake in wine tasting and breaking arms now and then. My turn ons are the sounds of pain from anyone I happen to be bending into a pretzel and old funk vinyls. My turn offs are people who don't scream when I put them in pain and eggplant.

 

Hey, man, don't get discouraged. The VF community is one of the best around and a lot of players will spar with you and give you ideas on how to improve. As well, visit character forums and familiarize yourself with bread and butter moves and when they should be used. While a super great player will not be predictable, most players do have some sort of pattern in attack and if you can read them well, those situations will be more obvious to you and you can take advantage of the hard work many others before you put in to get maximum damage from a good read!

I hope you stick with it and don't give up! As Jake the Dog said, "Sucking at something is the first step to being kinda good at something"!

edit: I'd also like to add that Jeffrey is a good character to get the best out of training in fundamentals of VF...he lacks many advanced features of other characters which forces you to be very good at both reading and defense->punishment. I'm biased and hope you pick Goh because I'm a Goh player, but for reasons beyond his play style.

Hi! I'm pretty new in this forum as well (been lurking for a month actually). I've probably played older VF at least a few times as a kid (and grew to hate fighting against Lau in the process). I've also touched on 3TB and 4E at one point because well, we had a copy of it luckily (and or an emulator too for 3), and of course I played 5 and now totally enjoying 5FS.

I main El Blaze, with Jean as my Sub (in older games it was Wolf all the way, and a failed attempt at Akira)

Uh, other fighting games? Let's see. Before VF there was SCV and SSF4AE, and the usuals. Sometimes I find myself playing Karnov's Revenge out of boredom.

I'm not new, but freshly returned from a long hiatus. It does say new member though, which is strange since I've been around, lurking mostly, since VF4evo. I joined here two years ago to sign the VF5R petition and here I am now getting into VF for the first time. It's a rough start, but it hasn't been too discouraging for me (yet).

I'm very interested in playing Akira, but I won't be using him effectively any time soon, so you will most likely find me playing as Goh or Pai until I find my groove.

Anyone of any skill level, feel free to add me on XBL. I'll appreciate any help, criticism, or just several bruises to the face.

Greetings! I'm Mr. Radon, I've been maining Lion since Vanilla 4, but I've been known to dabble in nearly every character casually. I've lurked here for a bit as I'm looking to take my VF game to new levels finally, but I thought it was time I finally set up an account.

VF is one of maybe a half dozen games that I have sunk thousands of hours into and have no regrets in doing so. It's just something I genuinely enjoy playing on every level and I also love teaching people the finer points of the game as best I know them. I live in New Mexico where the VF scene is just finally starting to appear with the release of FS, but all that's happening a solid 3 or 4 hours away from me.

Anyways, I'm always looking for matches on any level, whether it's you that need some practice and pointers or me getting my face stepped on and learning! I'm on PSN as MisterRadon.

Hello guys. Heard about the merits of this game and decided to pick it up. This is my first 3D fighter so the transition was a bit hard the first few weeks (still is) but I'm getting there. Thus far I enjoy playing Pai Chan and Jean Kujo, both their play style really suit my mindset.

I've been browsing the sub-forums for tips and it helped me a lot, thank you. ^^

I'm looking forward to discuss and increase my skills with fellow VF fans.

I've been a fan since the days of the Saturn and back when arcades were everywhere in America but never really tried to play VF seriously until recently. Normally I stick to games like Street Fighter and King of fighters but recently I've been getting into Tekken and Soul Calibur as well. In an attempt to do something different....and because I lucked out and found it for cheap when I bought my PS2 I bought Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, problem is, it's so different from other fighting games I keep getting my ass handed to me.

So here I am, hoping to learn as much as I can and play the game to it's fullest potential as opposed to just basic combos and tactics.

 

Hello everyone, nice to meet you all. I'm Mike and I'm from Caracas, Venezuela. I'm a big fan of the Dead or Alive series and have been playing Virtua since 4 but without any real knowledge about it. I purchased VF5FS a few months ago and love the game. It feels excellent in every way and I'd like to at least get decent at it. So I'll be posting and hanging around in the forums to learn as much as I can.

My favorite characters are Aoi, Pai and Eileen but I'm interested in Blaze, Akira and Sarah too so I'll start reading the threads for them and trying to memorize combos and good strategies. I'm very new to the series so I'll probably be asking too many questions with obvious answers for many members so I ask for your patience in this regard.

Also, If there's a guide in the site to get started with the mechanics and key factors in gameplay I'd like to take a look at it. So well, again, nice to meet you all. It's nice to be here.
