1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Ok so i was wondering this summer when virtua fighter 5 fs is released in america will it be realeased it Pennsylvania

Ive owned virtua fighter 4 and 5 and i was unstoppable with aoi but in the normal vf5 u can only do such combos u really cant exceed a ton of hits in one combo like vf5FS but i pretty much know all the combos and if i got vf5 the way they fall id be able to hit the 100+ 90+ combos like nothing which i still do in vf5 but much better and the best is new outfits for aoi!! she actually can get decked out! lol in the vf5 u can only deck her out so much but with this one i can

Hey. Used to mess around with VF4 and didn't go further than that since I had no way of improving. Only competition was family and some friends. [IMG]

With FS coming out, I'm looking to try out a new fighter and getting to that mediocre level. [IMG]

I think we can safely assume the game will be available in every state when it comes stateside.

If you werent already aware Sega will be selling the extra costume items separately as DLC so be prepared spend more money if you want to play dress up with Aoi.

    Also, welcome to VFDC.

Hey guys, I'm a beginner as far as VF goes. Only ever played the first game (on PC, no less) before I played VF5, which I've never had any competition for until recently. I really enjoy the game, though, and I'm hoping to learn and become super mediocre at it!

I can see a few names from this site in my group at Hypespotting, so I look forward to giving you some free wins!

Hey, man! Welcome to VFDC. I'm Scottish as well, what part of Scotland are you from?

It's great to see more scots here, UK VF players are a dying breed. Any new blood is good blood! [IMG]

    What games do you play?

Thanks man, Dundee here. Yeah, it's only in the past few months I've found a few people that play the game, it sucks that it's such a small community. [IMG]

I'm mainly a 2D man - VF is really the only 3D fighter I've managed to enjoy other than some casual Soul Calibur play. My main games are AE and I guess Strekken now, and I dabble a little in KoF (by which I mean I'm very bad at it).

That's awesome, man. I'm assuming you play with the Giant Attack crowd?

Looking forward to meeting you at the weekend.

I'm gonna force feed people Final Showdown when it comes out so it will be good to have folk already interested in VF.

Yeah man, Giant Attack regular here. I'm hoping to ease some of the 3D players into FS when it comes out. And yeah, this weekend will be great, hope to meet you there!

I went to college after the Dreamcast failed and was too busy for gaming as I used to be. Then after I was done with college I hooked up my Dreamcast, but was faced with it randomly rebooting after a while... But recently I found a video of a kid taking the Dreamcast apart and showing where the pins were that I needed to clean, now it works perfectly again.

I found myself getting engrossed in the old Dreamcast games all over again. I didn't like games less because I was getting older, but because of a lack of Sega.

In this interview, there was a very depressing quote from Yu Suzuki

Sega, which even did epic things like telling Smilebit to make a game with no commercial point of view which resulted in the epic Jet Set Radio. Now it is just a glorified EA.

Really got into Virtua Fighter 3tb on the Dreamcast, even if I'm only really playing it with a friend and against the CPU.

From the footage I've seen of VF5:FS it just might be one of the last Sega games showing it's former brilliance.

I never got really into Virtua Fighter, still got no clue how to counter throws now, but am really motivated to learn now. Especially with quality online play and a active community.

Found out that Shun is really my favorite character, drinking and laughing at opponents while slapping your ass in front of them, fuck yeah!

So for now it is just VF3 till I get an xbox, or hopefully VF5:FS will get a steam port.

Welcome. I like your story. Hopefully you'll find a way to play VF online.

When it comes to gaming devices, I notice that my wife and I name our consoles after the games we play. Any Nintendo console was a Zelda machine. Our PS3 was a VF5 machine, etc. Maybe your future 360 will be a Final Showdown machine.

Hi~ I go by dualentity / dual or Casey (whichever you feel more inclined to call me).

I haven't played Virtua Fighter since the Dreamcast days and was recently reintroduced to it by one of the members here (Tricky) during a small tournament in Philadelphia. I of course wasn't there for that game, but rather the games I play more often (SSF4:AE, KoF XIII (still a tiny noob player), and SFxT if I had a partner).

I had a lot of fun getting constantly beat down on, and it pushed me to want to become better at the game despite it not seeming to be one of the bigger games for competitions.

I recently bought it today and it should be arriving tomorrow to which I am very excited for. If anyone would like to play any games (Xbox360), I'd be more than happy to do some sparring in any of them.

Looking forward to talking to more of you and it's very nice to meet all of you!

Cheers! I'm an Italian guy and I play VF since 1998. The demo of VF2 in win98 system was awesome, then I bought the full game. It was love at first sight! =P
I played VF4 and 4evo for ps2, now I play VF5 with my 360 and I'm waiting for the Final Showdown!
My main character is Lei Fei but I use everyone more or less and...nothing, I hope for a good stay [IMG]

Hello peoples! Totally a newbie here, but man. I find Virtua Fighter to be something special. Honestly I am really bad at most fighters besides King of Fighters games. But they whole feeling that I get looking at video's and streams of Final Showdown gives me the good chills. Also, since I'm broke, I'll be messing with VF4Evo in the mean time. Hopefully you'll guys will not beat me up too bad online once I get Final Showdown!(Hasn't even decided a home console yet) XD

I mostly play 2d fighters when I play, but when I want something deep I reach for a 3d fighter.

I remember being blown away by the original VF at the arcade when it first came out. I played it as much as my paltry funds could afford gas and quarters. School, wife, family, and career happened and now I am very interested in VF5:FS. I caught some action from the Final Round stream and am chomping at the bit to play. I ordered VF5 for the xbox and a game guide to start learning now. I look forward to reading the forums and learning from the vets. Hopefully, if you see me on xbox live scrubbing it out, you won't be too hard on me. I know I have a long way to go, but I'm going to enjoy the journey.

New to Virtua Fighter, starting with 4 EVO on PS2.

    Hello VF fans.
Right now I'm playing the VF4 Evo tutorial. This is actually the first time I'll be trying to get good at a fighting game. I am currently trying to play the tutorial and apply the things I learned to the arcade mode. I'm willing to dedicate the time necessary to get better. Right now though, the AI on normal mode is still kinda difficult on the later stages. I have to use a couple of continues on them.
I've heard alot about how facing AIs in fighting games is much different than playing against real players. Is that the same with this game too?
Another question I have is does the knowledge of the tactics taught in the tutorial apply to AIs? It seems AIs can basically know exactly what you are going to do. Apparently in Tekken on Ultra Hard, you basically have to spam the AI otherwise they'll pwn you. Do you have to do that in VF as well?
I'll be moving on to VF5 on Xbox 360 after VF4 Evo, then when Final Showdown comes out on PS3 I plan to play it online, so I want to prepare myself using these 2 games.

You don't have to spam the AI to beat it.

Playing people is always totally different as people can be conditioned, drop combos, mess things up and can change their total approach to a match on the fly.

Starting with EVO is smart though, it will give you the basic gist of the game. Hope you're enjoying your experience with VF and welcome to VFDC!
