1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. I looked for you on the user list after the other night.

You have a nice Eileen. Quite different to the other Eileen players I play.

You're on my friend list now so I guess I'll see you more often [IMG]

I'm not exactly new, but I've been gone for a long time. I just recently got my hands on a copy of VF4Evo. I hear its training mode teaches you how to play the game well.

Virginia, USA player here. I've been a visitor to this site for quite some time but never participated in the community. What with the impending release of the new one I figure I might as well start getting involved.

My first experience with VF outside of brief store demos of the Saturn games was the release of VF4 on PS2, which I became interested in due the glowing reviews. I've played fighting games since I was little but always in a casual fashion; I had no one to play with and no way of getting in touch with communities. VF4 was admittedly the same way, but it's the only fighter I played continuously for years despite those conditions. And in those years, I literally played only two characters (aside from the first few days (and except for Wolf and Jeffrey! I avoided them completely at the time.)).

I was completely satisfied with playing Lau for about a year before picking up Pai and player her for just as long. And I enjoyed it! Playing Lau and Pai in single player was fun enough for me. It never even occurred to me until 2 years later that I could probably trying playing more characters. I ended up buying the Tekken 5 collector's edition (after it dropped in price) just so I could have an arcade stick to play VF4. The game's pace and flow must have really clicked with me, and because of that experience I figure I have to consider Virtua Fighter my favorite fighting game series.

My experience with VF5 was much the same. Played Eileen for god knows how long before trying Goh, who I was interested in from Evo. Ignored everyone else including Lau and Pai. Bought the Dead or Alive 4 arcade stick so I could play VF5. As I don't have access to a 360 here at college, I instead finally bought VF4Evo a month ago and will be trying that out until 5FS' release, which I'll be getting for PS3.

I'm a newcomer to the VF scence and I want to get better at the game. I heard that this was a good place to go and do just that so here I am. Names VirtuaOdeon but I go by TR3 (member of Team Red.3ye) StayRealChill in the fgc. I hope to get some good knowledge from you guys, make some good friends/rivals here, and evolve as a VF player here as well.

also, I should say that I own vf4evo and used to play it back in the day on and off. My first VF game that I played though was VF3TB in arcades way back in the day, and I loved it...

I'm a Michigan Player as well

    Hey VirtuaOdeon,

It's good to find a fellow VF player in the D. We should hook up and spar on VF5 when I'm gaming again. You can send me a friend request and I'll accept it once I'm back on my 360. Then we'll be able to arrange something from there.

    Hey all,

I'm not new, but feel like I am. I used to play a lot on Xbox Live with gamertag "III BIack III". I probably still have a few of you on my friend list. I moved on when I thought FS would never make it over here and have since played Street Fighter and "retired" from that as well. Now I just play everything occasionally. I have missed VF so much and just had the urge to see how the community was doing. Now, here it is a months after the news was dropped that FS will be released on consoles. I have to go buy a copy of VF and get back to basics. I have a lot of catching up to do. I see that there are still flame wars and what not going on including some players I know and some I don't. I look forward to getting back into the swing of things.

Hey -- I actually remember that gamertag. Didn't you used to play with Aoi? Or was it Pai?

Come to think of it... I remember there being a whole lot of Aoi players online around that time along with a bunch of Sarah players. It seems many of them left the VF5 online scene once Street Fighter IV dropped.

    Anyway, welcome back!

    Hey everyone!

I am glad I finally found a good VF site! I have been playing Virtua Fighter since way back in the day but I am just now getting into it on a tournament playing level. I am looking forward to VF5 Final Showdown!

I currently run Primal Fighting Games. A small but steadily growing fighting game community here in Wisconsin and many of the younger players in the group have never had a chance to play games on a competitive level. To be quite honest after showing all of them the basic mechanics to VF5, a lot of them were intimidated about picking up this game and learning to play. I look forward to any coaching/advice for myself and any that can be passed along to the others as well.

Welcome AkumaKaze! How are old the "younger players"? There is the "VF Guides for Beginners & Intermediates" thread in this Starter Forums section for links to a wide variety of resources.

"The 5 STEPS to Memorize: An Introduction to Virtua Fighter's Game System" is a translation of the brochure from Japan that is used for both VF5 and Final Showdown.

I'm new here, I'm mostly an SNK/Neo-Geo player, but I love Virtua Fighter, it's my all time favorite 3D fighting game. I played the first two games often in the arcade, never really got to play much of 3, played alot of 4+Evo on PS2, and 5 when it hit PS3. Never had any steady competition though since the arcade days, I sometimes still regret not getting a Xbox360 where the competition is, but kept telling myself "Wait for VF5R", then "Wait for VF5FS", now FS is finally coming... can't wait.

Hey guys. Just picked up Virtua Fighter 5 so that I can practice for the next release. I have heard many top players say that it is the deepest fighting game there is, and that it's incredibly balanced. I have no one to play with. But I'd love to get good at a game like this. And hopefully when the next VR comes out, people in my community will want to throw down.

    Hey Everyone.

I guess il give you a quick run down of my history around VF.

I used to go to SEGA world in my early teens to go play Daytona USA when i first see virtua fighter. I played it there very casually with me and a friend. I moved up to play VF2 as soon as it got released and my most used character was probably Jacky. Im guessing his the Ken of Virtua Fighter and now I'm leaving myself open to a whole load of insults? [IMG]

Anyway i bought a saturn and started playing VF2 a lot.. but not greatly. All i did was sit there and play against the game.

Fast forward to the 360 years and i picked up a copy of VF5... I'm f@*&ing terrible.

I can't even remember how to play. Maybe it was the gap? i didn't play VF through the Dreamcast years. In fact when SEGA pulled the plug on the DC i completely put video games to one side. By then i was in my "wonder" years. (drinking, drugs, girls) and so on.

And before anyone tries to get in quick il say it for you. "cool story bro"

The conclusion is. Im here as a noob and would like to get better at VF. Hopefully this is a cool place to understand the game a bit better and add me some xbla friends to play the game with.
