Hi guys, guess I'm kind of [ultra] late to the party, but y'know how it is, as an older, adult gamer (which I know many VF players are lol) with all sorts of commitments sucking up hours, and a general jaded waning of the modern gaming scene compared to the glory days of the Sega consoles and huge arcade 80s and 90s releases etc.

Always rated VF very highly though, since seeing part 2 in a local roller ring, and have played (mostly 2d) fighting games for almost 2 decades now! Enjoy games like Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and Third Strike over GGPO (and Kaillera before that) over the years, and finally got round to buying a modern console (360) to play a few more fighters online with a nice joystick. Sadly, Super SFIV doesn't really play like the older games at all, and matches often end up as long drawn out, defensive runaway fests, and of course you tend to see the same old characters getting used and abused over and over (even though the game is bursting with all sorts of different fighters!).

I did get VF5 with the console a few months back as well, but haven't found many players on it at all outside of Asia (and my humble UK connection won't stretch that far), plus during the evening it seemed to lag quite badly (suppose there's a lot more going on than in the Capcom game). Have managed to get a few nice sessions in with a few guys though (who directed me here), and it feels so incredible to play on a Japanese stick just using the 3 buttons. Now my workload during the week has eased off a bit, I'd like to learn the game a bit more and actually get on there, and have a few more fights, plus build up some costume variations (which I have to say, look absolutely stunning: you would have thought on graphics alone this game would have sold millions!) etc.

So, there it is, here I am, watashi-tachi wa, tatakai ni iku ofu!:)

Add my account as well, "hreyhrey" and I'll help you out too. I live in Victoria B.C. so the connection should be great. Oh, and when Kobi mentioned animated people in VFDC I'm one of them haha! [IMG]

New to the site. I've had vf4 for a few years. I'm on shoryuken and Iplaywinner, I post the most on shoryuken since I'm into street fighter and 2d fighting. You can also find me at dustloop.com since I have the admittedly old ggx2. My display name is from Kage's Shoryuken-like special move. 17. I like dogs, the beach, girls, cooking, drawing, getting outside, free running and music among other things. Kage fits my style because he is quick powerful and flashy.. And just plain nuts on a lot of his moves. Came here to get some combo/matchup info, I'm not new to fighters but pretty new to "competitive" 3d fighting- unless some arcade matches once in a blue moon counts lol. Started 3d on Tekken 3 I believe and I played the heck out of 4, I own 5, and would probably own vf5 and Tekken 6 if I had a ps3. I have the most experience with ST, Tekken 4, and I have played a ton of Soul Calibur 2 and a smidgen of 4- nightmare's rushdown game got NERFED. Never been to a fighting game tournament before, but I want to, a user called Saisyu_Kusanagi on SRK will be starting bar fights again soon so I will go to those if I have the time and money after I do all my school related things at the community college. I can also draw pretty well and will frequently doodle Ryu or some SF character while bored at my computer desk. Just got a Japanese stick-the old one that is shaped like a ps1 five bucks. It's ok, but I still like American sticks/layouts a little better given they are what I used at my local arcades. (Oh, I'm from Castle Hayne, Wilmington BTW, NC. The Haynes used to have a castle here that's why the name is as it is.) And the ball-top on my stick twists real easily. I don't like that >:|. Thinking of getting a MAS one. So yeah that's me as a fighter player right now.

Hey people! Obviously I'm new around here, just started playing VF really and I'm loving the sheer depth of the game.
I'm from Newcastle in the UK and post a bit on NeoEmpire and SRK under the moniker MilkyViper. I've been getting sick of some of SF's shortcomings and the linearity of it at times and whilst trying pretty much all other current fighting games, only VF has really captured my interest.
Although I'm in the stages of reading up on everything at the moment, I'd be up for a few games online with people but I'm pretty terrible at the moment.
Good to be here, hope I can level up pretty fast! Already got a lot of questions so I'll post em in the relevant threads.

    Peace!

@ Seidon. Thanks for the welcome! I've been trawling through the threads on Neo as well as this site, and the wiki. So much to take in, but it's all good, that's kinda what I wanted. Mate, tell me that's you in your Avatar! If so, where'd you get the Blaze mask? It's top tier!

@ MP_Lupin. Hey! You're probably one of the reasons I even had an interest in this game in the first place. I think it was something that you had in you XBL Bio at one point made me think I've got to try that game, and here we are! You got your XBL back on yet? Also, I had a look at some of your artwork man, fucking hell, some of it's amazing but all of it's good! I really like it, I was gonna PM you about it a while back. You thought about printing T-Shirts? I know I'd take a bunch off your hands if you ever go down that route!

I think I'm making a new XBL account for my friends and people I play regularly, I'm planning on making it my main VF account too. SF has filled my Milky account with people I hardly ever play, and I'm constantly getting f.req's and party invites from people I've never even heard of, and I just want to get away from the hassle.
Would it be alright to add you guys to the new account when it's up and running?

Lol Seidon did you have a Negroplasty? [IMG]

Wow something in my bio? I can't remember if it was anything profound lol I change it so often. Hopefully soon I'l have XBL access again and I'm going to get bare sessions on in the evenings when I can. Thanks for the very kind compliments, good too see that someone out there likes it heheh. As it happens I may be starting up a little shop to sell t-shirts and stuff and I'd be happy to sort you out some [IMG]

Sure you can add me, although might be a while before im back on. Out there somewhere is a Gamertag called VF Europe(?), its on most of our friends lists I imagine. It's got alot of the european VF players on it, I'm sure the majority of them wont mind either.

Welcome once again, enjoy your stay.

With all the New UK players appearing we need a big UK gathering..

Hi everyone, i registered awhile ago, been lurking for awhile as well so i guess I'll now introduce myself [IMG]

I've been a fan of the series since i first played the original VF. But you could say that i haven't exactly played it properly ever since. A lot of fighters i enjoyed and took a big liking to, never went well with me as i often got stuck with no arcades carrying the games, to no local friends even remotely interested in the stuff i was playing. This was the norm for me and VF in particular.

I could hardly enjoy these fighters by myself either, so i never quite played them. The only games that had some interest within my community were always, and have always been Street Fighter and Tekken, the latter of which has really come to disappoint me over the years.

Even though I've been grabbing most of the console releases as possible for VF thus far, including VF5 for 360, i don't play that either as most of the people i know strictly play SF online on PS3 so most of my game time is there. But things have somewhat changed, I've come to know many people who carry an interest of playing VF with me, albeit all PS3 owners, so I'm hoping that this latest VF revision makes it out on consoles.

I'm hopeful, so till then, I'm going to casually get to grips with the current game system, and overall, begin learning it so i can progressively become a better player. As, with most of my game time currently being spent on fighters, I'd like that fighter to be VF. Something about it that just makes it my favorite FTG out there.
