Umm hi im a experienced 2d fighter and was trying to get into 3d's a little more and i thought this game would be perfect as a stepping stone. I main Aoi and is always looking for pointers

 

Hello, 'ello, I am Genesis Malakh, or Vapor Man, to my fellow cannabis enthusiasts. Being an arguably loyal fan of the Virtua Fighter series, I'm not new to Virtua Fighter, however I'm by no means a highly skilled player. I mainly stick with Kage, but I'm getting confident enough with him to start becoming more comfortable with Sarah and Lei Fei. I only have Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, and with funds as they are, it seems like it'll be some time before I have a 360 and VF5. That being the case, I can't set up matches with any of you guys, much as I'd love to test my mettle against you (a.k.a. get creamed by you), so I'm mainly here to make friends in the VF community (I seriously know no one else in the Atlanta area who is a fan). We'll see, though.

On a side note, I'm a big 2D fighting enthusiast. Besides VF, I never stayed into 3D fighters. I'm a huge Street Fighter, KOF, Capcom Vs. SNK and Guilty Gear fan.

Hello, I've seen a lot of game play vids; I've got to admit, I'm really impress with how much effort SEGA has put on Final Showdown with all the frame data and stuff. I don't own a copy of VF 5 but as appealing as the vids are, I'm quite convinced to learn this game myself and with the help of this community of course when Final Showdown gets released to consoles.

W/o further ado I'll introduce myself.

I'm formally a Soul Calibur player living in the city of Toronto maining Cervantes.

Perhaps you maybe wondering why I bother to mention a Soul Calibur character in VFDC.

Well to answer that, Cervantes is the type of character who is mainly on the offense and has many risk/reward moves. So I'm asking who in Virtual Fighter has the kind of things Cervantes has.

Other than that, I'm pleased to be part of this community and here's to hoping Final Showdown will be released to consoles.

Hmm that is a tricky question to answer. I will try and the others will no doubt include there input to.

My choice for risk/reward goes to Jeffery and Lion. As for highly offensive characters, I`d maybe choose Aoi and Lau. Now I am gonna take both elements and deduce who is the middle ground between these characters...

After a bit of thought I`d say Jeffery. Jeffery in capable hands is beastly. Long range. Good wake up game breaking capablities. Plus frame advantage on one attack that I can think of(maybe got more?) I`d advise looking at the VFTV section in the game, that way you can look at all the characters being played at a high level. That may help you decide a character suitable for yourself.
