Welcome to the forums, nice to see new players... especially enthusiastic ones [IMG]

I'd advise not to post multiple times in a row though, there's an edit function if you want to add anything else to your posts.

Also typing in all caps in threads like these is another no-no [IMG]

People often make these sorts of "who wants to throw down" offers in the shout box----->

  10. Hello, first post...

I'm a VF fan from the UK. I've been into VF since the first game, and have played all home versions. I used to dabble in arcades in the 90s, but now I'll be damned if I can find a cabinet of any VF game near where I live (there's a broken VF3 cab in Cleethorpes and that's about it...)

I'm also a game collector, and sometimes love nothing more than booting up the Saturn to play VF1. I recently bought the 2003 VF 10th Anniversary Japanese boxset off Ebay with the book, DVD and game. It's all in Japanese of course (I'm learning to speak it at the moment, mainly due to my interest in games), but it was great to see the enthusiasm surrounding the series in Japan, and to see some tournament fights. I also really like the version of 4 Evo therein, re-skinned like VF1.

I've never really had anyone to play against on VF (or fighting games in general) since I left school, so right now I'm enjoying playing VF5 online. It just goes to show how important human competition is, as I've not been this into a VF game for a long time! Also VF5 is a brilliant game, and my favourite in the series so far: state-of-the-art graphics and animation, and after prolonged play I really think it deserves its place in Edge's Top 100 games to play today (number 24).

I've not used this site very much (mainly for info and to sign the 5R petition), but hope to make new friends and maybe get to know the people I've been playing online. My gamertag is Methodical Mute, I'm currently 5th Dan as I unfortunately just got demoted... [IMG] That'll teach me to go a week without playing [IMG] Though after a long struggle I've now got more wins than losses, which believe me is a real achievement for me. I was consistently 10 wins less than my number of losses for ageeeees...

I was a dedicated Sarah player from VF1 to VF4, but from 4 Evo I've been using Vanessa - I dunno, I just like her rough and tumble style, and was intrigued by a character with two separate move sets. Also Vanessa taught me how to reverse, and now I've become intrigued how Aoi can reverse pretty much anything, so I'm learning to play as her at the moment.

I also like to play Capcom fighters and have been enjoying Street Fighter IV very much (that's probably why I got demoted, ahem). I am eagerly awaiting the XBLA release of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 this month, at which point I shall likely become a 4th Dan... [IMG]

I'm using one of the Mad Catz SFIV Fight Sticks to play beat 'em ups at the moment, though have been traditionally a joypad player. I really like using fight sticks now, and I am trying to get a decent PS2 one that I can use across all my old consoles via adapters.

Hope to see you around, and it's great to meet fellow fans!

Hi everyone! I'm a new user from Cagliari (ITA) and i got into VF only in 2009 with Virtua Fighter 5.

I started with Sarah but now i'm maining Goh, and i'm definitely the best Goh here in Sardinia.

The fact that i'm the only player around here that i'm aware of helps me a lot :p

The truth is that i'm a noob and a terrible player U_U But i0m going to learn :p

    cya everyone!

  15. Hi, Manjimaru, I'm usually on Live 10pm onwards UK time. I have to say that I usually don't have a problem finding good matches on Live. Usually just create a ranking match myself and then don't have to wait long. I'll add you as a friend!

Btw just got demoted...again! Now 4th dan. I'm trying to use Aoi but clearly not good enough yet as every time I switch to her I go on a massive loosing streak. Gonna watch the VF.TV in the Xbox game to try and pick up some strategy tips with her.

Ooh, new posters. Welcome to the forums everyone [IMG]

Also, Methodical_Mute whereabouts in the UK you from? I know you mentioned Cleethorpes in your post.

  17. Hi Beligerent Feck, I'm sure I've seen your name on live in the past. Aren't you 10th Dan+ or something amazing like that? I'm from South Yorkshire. Sometimes visit the arcades at Cleethorpes which ain't that far away. Depressing these days though, as most of the ace Sega games are not maintained very well, like VF3 and Lost World. They have Out Run 2 SP tho which works! Meadowhall shopping centre used to have a decent arcade, but not been for a while.

    Hi everyone,

I must say I wish I'd found this place sooner. I played VF as a kid up till VF3, missed 4 and EVO and came back into the fold for VF5 ver C. I used to main Kage, as the cool blue ninja was what caught my interest at like 8 or 9. I'm trying to learn Vanessa and I'll be the first to admit, I picked her for a "ooh shiny" reason as well. She's hot and we share the same first name. But I've grown quite attached to the character, finding her complex and fluid while at the same time having a basic move set that is punishing, thus allowing newcommers to learn as they go rather than lose a million matches until Vanessa's move set is memorized. I'm not on live very much at the moment, but usually on the weekends after 5 EST I'll be kicking around. If ya'll don't mind mopping up a scrub I'd love to play you some time.

  20. Hi Ryu and Zengetsu, pleased to meet fellow VF players. Hope we can play online sometime!
