Hello to everyone! I`m trying my best to leave Tekken behind and start with Virtua Fighter 5. I chose Eileen (she reminds me of Xiaoyu) but I realised very soon that the fighting system is completely different. Need more practice /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

ps: The online play is absolutely fantastic /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Hey guys, I've been playing Virtua Fighter on and off since that awful Saturn conversion of the original, though I finally picked up VF4:EVO for practice and learning! Virtua Fighter 5 was mine upon the day of release!

I'm sure I've played and lost to a fair few members here (noticing the VF:DC tags on Gamer profiles hehe) so if anyone does recognize my own Gamer Tag, feel free to drop me a line.

Right now I feel I'm in serious need of direction with my main, Akira, but for sure that is for another post!

    Hi there!

My name's Matt, 18 years old, living in Auckland, New Zealand.
I'm primarily a Guilty Gear player, and I just picked up VF5 for 360 the other day - I've heard nothing but good things about the series, and I need a good fighter to tie me over until Super Turbo HD comes out.
So far I'm really enjoying the game, and I'll definitely start playing competitively online once my net resets. I can see why people say its a fantastic game!

this is my 1st installment of VF. and i quickly learned this is not a pickup and play game,i guess thats the reason i feel in luv with, the hole thru hard work comes great reward really applys to VF so i'm digging that.i've had the game since it 1st release on the 360,and hit the ground running every sense.but now i want more, now i know u don't learn a game like this over nite, but i would really appreciate if i could get some strong VF players on my friends list cause the competition floating on XBL aint taking my game to the next lvl.i play with shun, pai and ellen, satying in the midwest chicago, and usually on around the time of 7pm central time.my gamertag is SeTTriP.and bigups to the DaBadSeed 4 opening all thoese cans of whipass on me and telling me what i need to do to get better.now if i can get around six or seven people who play like him,i'll be on my way to playing @ high lvls.thanks and peace

You are good though the matches we have are always fun and enjoyable then again I only see you play Akira and Shun. I had no idea you played pai, I will have to see your pai is compared to mine. I love good pai vs pai matches they are the best.

    What's up everybody?

My 360 gamertag is TehJuv, and I've been playing VF5 for a couple of months now. I've previously played DOA4 and the Tekken series on the old school Playstation. I don't do too too much online play at the moment, mostly because I have been changing characters around trying to get a good feel for which fits me best. I've finally settled and spend a lot of time in the Dojo or in player matches with friends. Hit me up if you want to play.. I'll be all over the forums and in ranked matches soon enough. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    Hey people,

I *loved* VF2, but after that, I didn't really feel a connection with the games. When VF5 came out, this all changed, and try to play it whenever possible (which is sadly only about 1 hour a week).

El Blaze is my main, and to level him up I really need to focus on my punishment game.

I'm also starting to get serious about arcade stick mods, so don't be surprised if I start asking noob questions like "how do I mount sanwa sticks to an EX2 shell case".

Aside from that, I work as a global mod on NeoEmpire.com It's a large gaming community that runs gaming tournaments in the UK, and have just held our biggest event so far last weekend (29th - 30th March 2008). And there was plenty of VF5 to be had!
Which just emphasises the fact to me that meeting up for real life VF sessions is so much more rewarding than playing online.

Anyways, hope to gradually become part of the community here.

    Peace..

    gahrling.

I've played 2d fighters all my life, especially the versus series. I'm a member of SRK and saw a thread on VF5. I decided last week to pick up the game to see how it is. I also picked up a VSHG so that I could mod it to work with my 360. I started playing quest mode with brad and I immediately fell in love with the game.

The strategy that's involved with the characters is amazing. It's not like MvC2 where you're constantly spamming the same combos and helpers to win a match. If I knock someone down in VF5 I don't know whether or not my opponent will roll, hit me high, or hit me low. I love every aspect of this game.
