someone who has all but 2 versions of the trilogy (need the mono betamax and japan jvc disc versions)

phantom and clones hav a lot to do with this film, its a trilogy for a start and its the same dead director in all 3! (the one reason the films are crap)

what i ment about vader hunting jedi is, you will never see him hunt them down as vader properly. he should of been vader from the mid part of this film but, from what everone knows, its near the end.

theres been proof vader can breath him self with the power from his hatred and the darkside but as hes become more machean hes not as powerfull as he was (this is in the books and the old marvel comics)

dont get me started how lucas just puts the "token" black man (SL Jackson) in a crap role, like the token black man dying in the cockpit in return of the jedi.

ohh and the reason theres no asians is cos the vicroy people from phantom are ment to represent asians, or should i say refect on usa sanctions on japan that lead to pearl harbor!

empire is the best, "new hope" is not that good in retrospect, hell if han wasnt so lame in return of the jedi i would say it was better then "new hope"

bottom line, vader should of been sleaker slightly different then the OG version, and if im not mistaken, his "new" control box on his chest has not got the hebrew/arabic? letterings the OG version.

of corse i will see it when it comes out, and i try 2 not let my opinions of the other 2 films preducie it b4 hand.

I do not understand Lucas. Even if this movie is cool, how could he fuck the first two up so badly?

He really should have thought, as he was making the last two, "How can I do justice to these films? How can I make them live up to the originals?"

He should have asked for many people's opinions. He should have brought people around him who would have been honest in criticizing the script, art direction, story, casting, etc.

From the results it's obvious he surrounded himself with Yesmen who indulged his every ridiculous whim.

Because he was trying to tell a story that had to conform with the backstroy laid out in the original three, it was going to be difficult to write the story well. That being the case, he should have brought in some real writing talent- writers of literary fictyion who would normally get nowhere near sci-fi kid stuff. He had the money to throw at some writers. He shold have done it, but noooo, he had to be Mr. Creator, he had to give birth to creations that were his and his alone. And we see what he has wrought- his last two cinematic "babies" look an awful lot like turds...

So, shit, maybe this movie will be entertaining. It can't make up for how bad the first two were. I will go see it, if only to see what 200 million in cgi looks like on the silver screen. Even if the movie is very entertaining, we will mourn the crushing lameness of the first two all the more...

 

I think it's hard to create an exciting yarn as a prelude to an existing story. The very fact the audiance knows the events that follow puts an immediate damper on the whole thing.

How can any sense of drama be created about the plight of the Jedi when we all know the rebellion ultimately destroy the empire in the future....fucking pointless.

I see these films as similar to Tolkien's Silmarilion. They flesh out the history and background to the main story, but in doing so take away some of the original magic.

 

the whole idea is how and why Anakin went to the darkside, it's been on many ppl's minds for a long time since the last episode (6) back in the days. I'm sure many people from other sites and forums have written a made up story and theorys on how he went to the dark side.

I don't like how fights are really wavy and dramatic in the first 2 episodes and then all of a sudden it changes style in the last 3 to some stiff sword play fighting. But I remember Lucas explaining this reason in the making of episode 1 I think on the DVD.

I mean you can't have a story about a character without knowing some sorta background on him. In this case Anakin turned into Darth Vader. I'm sure ppl wouldn't of given a damn about Vader in the last 3 episodes if it weren't for the fact that he's Lukes father. Now c'mon, wouldn't u like to know how and why he went to the darkside? Hence the reason for the prequels. I'm sure many other films have done this before.

Nice. I always love it when people talk out of their ass. Very pleasant. Look, most fans didn't enjoy the first 2 episodes. We all agree on it. But it certainly doesn't categorize George Lucas as a dead director. Get it straight. On the same note, you make it sound like there's someone who could have made them better. Whatever. They are what they are. Lucas owes you nothing. Get over it. Move on.

Hey, Chief, point me in the direction of Lucas-authored Episode 3 literature. I'd love to see it. Especially the part where they describe the physiological impact of Vader's helmet being on or off. Marvel Comics? Get off the hard drugs.

by having nearly all versions of the films, i guess you could say i hav an advantage over normal "fans" who think they know about star wars, but really dont!

lucas is a crap director, its not like hes Riddly Scot and has made some bad films, but face it phantom and clones had some evil dialoge!

no real director would use it, ohh wait he wrote it!

also i dont think he would like paying $10mill plus for a someone to direct the new starwars, hes far to tight!

but the whole new star wars trilogy was just bullshit to me kinda, even the new sound system they made for it (dolby digital surround ex) was fake, the new rear surround is not full bandwidth! it limited like only up to 9khz the most!
