1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. ah ok thanks for the info.
    No I haven't been to any NE events,
    There will be other tournaments on the same day, VF5 will be there because I want to see it get played and we will have PS3s there on that day plus it is at a big event, so I don't need to rely soley on advertising before hand.
    I've played quite a lot in the last few days but yeh I think I am holding it wrong or something, it is only in my right shoulder. The chair I am using is really bad, hopefully my new one will sort this out.
    I have the fighting stick 3 but the layout is totally dum, is it easy to mod the stick?

    I have 2 HFS3s as well as a HRAP3 (besides around 6-7 PS2 and DC sticks lol) and yeah the layout of the HFS3 is a bit crap.

    It's possible to mod the stick but you need to know what you're doing and have a bit of prior soldering knowledge. Firstly the default set up is rubbish, ideally you should be using:

    L2 = G
    L1 = P
    square = K

    and everything else set to no use. This is the true arcade layout.

    Because the HFS3 has a strange default layout i.e. the buttons arc downwards to the right too quickly (meaning for a 6 button game you'd need to re-configure your buttons to use

    L1 square triangle
    L2 cross circle

    to stand any chance of using the stick properly) I replaced the Hori stock buttons with Sanwas and re-wired the buttons to be:

    square triangle R1 L1
    cross circle R2 L2

    Here are 2 pics:

    I also fitted a Sanwa JLF stick into the HFS3 as well...only to find out the hard way that the stick is not deep enough to accommodate a JLF, maybe a Seimitsu might fit but I don't have any currently.

    So the stick in the pic is still the stock Hori one. It's ok but annoying when I miss dbpms because it's sometimes hard to register a diagonal on the stick quickly.

    VFHGs are prob a better bet as they're all Sanwa, tho the HRAP3 are a walk in the park to mod.

    That's a lot of sticks:|
    Yeh I've already configured the buttons like you ave said.
    So the arcades only have 3 buttons?
    I wasn't sure if it was best to stick to just the 3 buttons, but if that is how it is on arcades then I shall stick to it.
    Just had a few problems whiffing stances with lei fei not pressing all 3 buttons together, guess I'll get used to it over time.

    Can you tell me how the number abbeviations work?

    VF has only 3 buttons, in the way Tekken has only 4 and SF has 6.

    You'll even see the picture of how the 3 buttons should be if you go into training and look at inputs.

    What do you mean by number abbreviations? I'm kinda assuming you're talking about commands?? For VF I don't like using the numbering system, it's far neater to type in the explicit commands (especially on here). I use the number system when discussing GG as that's almost exclusively how GG moves are discussed in the community.

    Basically look at your no. pad:

    7 8 9
    4 5 6
    1 2 3

    They describe your positions of the stick.

    5 = neutral
    4 = back
    6 = forward
    3 = down forward

    and so on...

    So Akira's sde is 666P and his yoho is 33P for example.

    But like I said, for VF I don't like this system at all, it's far easier to understand/write/read yoho or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif than thinking about what 33P actually is.

    For anyone who is interested, I'm looking at holding a VF5 session sometime in mid to late June.

    When I can confirm that the local players here can make it I'll post up details for people if they want to come round.

    I've only 1 set up for the PS3 but I'll also have a PS2 set up on the go so other games can obviously be played on that.
