Yeah, I guess over time they will unlock more items, hopefully a lot more in the next pack.

I've got 2 Costume A Akira setups now:

    - Blue Hair, Kabuki Mask, Spear on his back, Topless, Black Pants, Black Belt, Brown Beads on Neck and Hands, Black Hand Wrap, Standard Foot guard.

    - Gray Slick Back Hair, Tengu Mask, Yuki Sign on his back, Black Top, Black Pants, Black Belt, Black Hand Wrap, Brown Beads on Neck and Hands, Standard Foot guard.
(He almost looks like Mr. Karate in this setup)

I know people bust open certain games and are able to look at the game data, finding out what's actually hidden away on the disc. It happened to halo immediately but that's because the community is huge. If someone did it with VF5 we'd know for certain and also possibly get a heads up on any future DLC (if stuff was simply being unlocked). Not that it's going to happen of course but it would be interesting.

    i tell ya what though.
i am totally willing to pay to unlock some of the cooler stuff. I already unlocked all Aoi's stuff on my friends PS3 and now i got to do it again, its such a pain. But i am now learning to use an arcade stick which is nice. so i dunno. but i hope they release more of these even if they are on the disc already which is abit cheeky.
Akira's kabuki mask is so cool

I have a hard time understanding what people are whining about. Most likely this is a test to see if theres a market for DLC for this game. Why would a company spend money on development time of updating online content if no one buys it? A good way to test this is what they did with this batch of items. If you were to invest 50g into developing a product, wouldnt you like to have an idea if people were going to buy or not? I would. It makes me laugh that some people that can spend $400 on an xbox, $60 on a game and $50 a year for xbox live, $3 is too much to support online content.
There are PLENTY of items already in the game and the people that dont want to pay $3 can enjoy those or maybe collect items for their characters in street fighter. :p

I think Brad got blue long hair, wild moustache and yellow armbands. Not too much, hopefully more in the next update : /

I say the more downloadable content the better. I hope they keep giving us a new stuff for years to come, cause that's how long I'm gonna be playing this game for, I love it. I could play this game every day for the next two years and still want to play more... Fighting games are the best genre around (albiet, it seems almost forgotten by most game developers for some reason)and this game is one of, if not the, best fighting games ever. Kudos to SEGA for VF5 online, online makes it so awesome, it's worth every penny and then some. I say the more DLC and add ons the better, I'll definitely be getting this one, not only cause I want it, but I want to support all future VF5 DLC.

    Not happy with the DLC

I hear that the DLC pack being offered is really just a patch to UNLOCK stuff ALREADY on the disc you have PAID for.

If this is the case. What's next? Paying for DLC to UnLock Vs. mode? UnLock Options? UnLock moves for characters?

What a way to screw up customers Sega. You wonder why people feel the need to pirate games. You guys are too greedy and screw the fans. Why should players support you.

    It's only logical.

If it wasn't on the disk people without the dlc would have problems playing against someone with the dlc.

There is a problem. The content is already on the disc we paid for.

What would your reaction be if they kept controller settings locked so they can release that as DLC later? Or maybe the save replay option?

I hate it when my company makes you pay for things in game that are already in game. So I'll hate it when some other company does it.

And a what point do you say 'enough'? What if VF5:Evo has two new characters on the arcades, but you have to pay for the game, and pay to unlock the 'right' to play them? Is that still ok?

It's slippery slope that I wish game companies didn't take.

Screw the fans? For fucks sake. Look at all the stuff you got already. You cant enjoy the 180+ items you already have for each character? If you dont want to pay 3 bux for 54 items, then dont.

I don't see why everyones getting their panties in a bunch.
As long as it's just this type of unlockable content that you pay for, why even complain?
When they DO put vs. mode or something like that as unlockable content THEN you should complain.

You already paid for the items. You're paying for access to them.

what would be a better solution then. you realise that if they were true downloads it would cause problems if someone with the dlc tried to play against someone without it.

think of it like premium content. you have cable channels and have the capability to watch them but you gotta pay extra for hbo and showtime. if you dont want to pay that extra, then go watch tnt.

Re: Not happy with the DLC

fulaani, by that logic, none of the DLC is ever going to be a true DL, it's just going to unlock stuff on the disc? I'm genuinely curious about this as I don't see how that scenario could work any other way, unless the items simply didn't display on your opponents screen.

I don't know if I'm for or against this at the moment as I don't have enough points to DL it. However the argument of 'don't buy it if you don't want it' is pretty weak because (if it is indeed on the disc) everyone already did buy it.

Re: Not happy with the DLC

hmm, if this first pack is the only one that's going to be an unlock then that is fine. The point about testing the water is easy to deal with. However if (as is being spoken about now) all subsequent DL's will also be unlocks then there is a problem.

If the XBOX live market place infrastructure wasn't there, then all of these items would be in the game from day one.
