New Evo Movie clips

    The am2 heroism clips aren't up yet, but the following clips are:

    To save these use streambox and under the connection tab check the mms protocol box and limit bandwidth to 256k dsl.

    Random Media of LaLa (evo, combos, wallpaper, etc)

    First - to those who have trouble downloading from TBZone, but know how to use FTP, their media is all stored on an FTP site. The address is:

    To those who use FTP programs, note the port is 2100, not 21.
    There are version C combo movies for every character and one evo combo movie for Akira, so if you're missing any, getting them is easy.

    If you've never been there, has both wallpaper and movies. I just now figured out that "douga" means movies. Click on it to see movies, click on Kabegami for some wallpaper. It's basic photoshop stuff, and I notice some of it is rotated out after a stretch of time. It might be worth visiting on occasion. One cute wall paper has shun in the "I'm getting raped" position vs. every character, along with a nice looking shot of shun sporting long hair.

    Speaking of vfevo.com, go to http://vfzone.com/pds.htm for some new stuff, the first two links under the movies header. The top one is especially nifty, it's ohsu vs. mukky I believe, a sort-of-direct link you can right click and save is http://vfevo.com/board/download.php?id=vf_pds_02&page=1&sn1=&divpage=1&sn=off&ss=on&sc=on&select_arrange=headnum&desc=asc&no=100&filenum=1 ..

    Edit: The ohsu-mukky movie is probably from the green book DVD, or some other DVD, it's very clean and sharp and well-edited. It's not a close match but there's some pretty decent stuff. Mukky blew a picture perfect st -> sgpm (Wall) -> spod opportunity in favor of a crouch dash forward flowchart. Maybe it's easier to struggle in evo. In any case ohsu recovers and does Bad Things to mukky. Ohsu is almost 90 percent, scary.

    put up new clips three days ago, they are all unfortunately rizm.net, and they are all strange filenames which foils using a DL manager to grab them. So you'll have to do it the hard way and pray the connection doesn't die. The first one in particular was weird... instead of offering you the chance to save download01.asp, which then changes into some strange filename, it offers to save download01 and then you don't get the redirect to a strange filename. If you rename it from download01 to something.wmv, it plays fine. It's a good shun vs. pai match, shun uses new stuff only once but pai loves the BT cartwheel into tekken kick combo. Shun also has some new item that hovers a couple of feet over his head, but the video is too grainy to make it out.


    I think that's all of 'em, for today at least.

    Hmm that guy in the vid (in case you were wondering) was named chibita-Rafaaru (Bad spelling of rafale I guess)....Heck my japanese suxxors mebbe it IS rafale

    Could be a chibita imposter? Most likely just another guy he uses tho

    Indeed, you can change nicks quite quickly and easily on VF.net. It's fun to mess around with your name every once in a while.

    The Vane in that clip is a local guy, BTW, and though I haven't met him personally, he has a reputation around here. I do want to speak to him.

    wow, osu really knows how to kick arse, the way he anticipates jacky's throws was extremely impressive.

    side note:

    regarding "physics in EVO / move properties" i noticed that slam ~ P setups can be connected into high attacks? (i.e jacky's b+k+g ~ p ~ kk) which was almost impossible to connect *any* attack guarenteed other than akira's dblpm in ver.C. even slam ~ d+P in ver.C required a mid or low attack, apart from a few acceptions of high attacks depending on your stance (i.e wolf's b+p ~ d+p ~ b+p, or kage's uf+k+g ~ d+p ~ b+pk).

    I haven't seen anything for Akira besides [4][6][P], [P], m-dblpm or [4][6][P], [6][6][K][K](open stance). Maybe something extra can be thrown in there now due to Evo's new "floaty" physics?

    I've also heard that Akira's [4][P]+[K]+[G],[6][P] appears to hit more frequently against low punch now. I've even seen [4][P]+[K]+[G],[6][P] -> [P] -> [K]+[G], [P].....That was against high punch though......crazy.

    yah, but b+k+g ~ p ~ kk is'nt... is it?

    i'm talking about slam ~ p as a set up as in follow something afterwards. in ver.C, it seemes like a the high punch after a slam just made the opponent faint, and not float, this is why high attacks afterwards seemed to most likely whiff.

    example: akira's b,f+p ~ ffkk is doable in ver.C, but with what i've seen in vids, it almost seems that b,f+p ~ p ~ kk would be doable, but obviously i don't know for sure.

    Like I mentioned before (in your "physics" thread), it's more of a case of new combos being possible due to the changed properties of the move.

    In Jacky's case, [K][K] was renewed which most likely explains why it can be used in a slam combo, whereas the old ver.C [K][K] didn't behave the same.

    And I'm pretty sure Akira could do [4][6][P] ~ [P] ~ [6][6][K][K] in ver.C under the right conditions.

    Lion has some nice slam combos that invole the [4][4][K] as the last hit in ver.C too. Again, under the right conditions.

    In general, you could always float after a slam with a standing [P] in ver.C with the right timing and stance.

    To clarify further, there are some tricks to making high hitting attacks work in a float combo and these may not be well known, or are considered too unusual to gamble with.

    Lion lands K,K after a flop because he holds forward during the kick. Without holding forward it doesn't work. Jacky has the same issue.
    From my combo guide:
    b+K+G -> F+P -> F+K,K [83 pts]
    [MW up to Kage, max range open stance]

    You also might notice you need maximum range, range matters a lot in flop combos. Lion's got a flop combo that needs very close range vs. akira and jacky. Jacky's got several flop combos that require an absolute max range hit with b+K+G.

    well after trying it out today, yeah, i was wrong...

    jacky's b+k+g ~ p ~ kk is doable in ver.C i could'nt quite get it to work against kage, but aoi seemed fine (though in EVO worked against akira). i guess it also depends on the character's high punch too. for instance, using b+p ~ p with wolf makes any move afterward impossible to connect, even reverse hammer (well, it didn't work for me) it seemed like it pushed the opponent away abit, not sure how this would react in EVO, but i referring to myke's point that the move properties have changed to react the way they do in order for the combos to work, then i guess i'll be looking more toward individual moves, though it sometimes seems like certain things have been modifyed in general.

    oh and regarding to what i said about the opponent fainting and not floating, it's also not the case, the opponent floats a fair height with jacky's high punch, not sure wether a b.f+k+g works though like with a low punch. lol, sorry, just thinking out loud... /versus/images/icons/grin.gif
