Very close Aoi vs Sarah match......-> throw still works.

 

This is what I love about Virtua Fighter: the match is never over until it's over. Sarah in the first round is pounded within an inch of her life only to come back aggressively in the second. Aoi feeling the heat turns up the level of her game and takes two rounds but is ultimately beaten by a Knowledgeable Sarah who could keep her head and deliver the damage when it counted.

The more I see successful Sarah matches the more I laugh at any fears I had of her being diminished in any way for Evo. Her combo potential is now staggeringly vast, her reanimated moves really take advantage of her speed and recovery, when her techniques are combined they make a difference.

Case in point: MC, , (Dragon Smash Cannon > High Kick Straight > Double Joint Butt) in the first round takes 45% of Aoi's life, being a lightweight Sarah could have easily added a and/or replaced the end of the combo for the stronger (Jack knife Middle Kick) but, the real kicker is that the above combo would easily work on middle weights with the suggested alterations working on most middle weights via an MC. No complaints!

Just so everyone knows....."vf4e19" is the wolf vs jeffry clip mentioned earlier (same clip as "ev_18"). "maeb_01" is akira vs sarah, "homoVSsupainn" is kage vs jeffry, and "sinndouVSsupainn" is jacky vs jeffry. /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

 

homovssupainn is incidentally almost a rape. If you like jeffry it's a great video. The unfortunate bit is that the jeffry player uses nothing new at all, but what he does is technically strong and impressive.

 

I agree. Unfortunately, in "sinndouVSsupainn" Jeffry gets raped repeatedly by Jacky's +. It pisses me off....seriously, look at me, I'm pissed off. /versus/images/icons/mad.gif

 

.... While Akira Vs Sarah showed how some stuff isn't guaranteed anymore with Akira's ST. He has a high winning percentage, so we wouldn't think has was messing up when, for example:

- Sarah struglled quick enough after the ST throw to block the sgpm once.

- Akira chose to do a c-dlpm after the ST.

- Akira chose to do a SDE after the ST for some reason.

whenever I try to watch the tbzone clips with WMP, all I get is sound. When I open it, WMP downloads some codec, then plays with no picture.

what is the bullshit codec-of-the-week you need to see these?

Are they even worth all the hassle? By the time you download and un-zip it, that's 36 megs of memory, for one fight right? Why do people insist on using all these different formats etc? It seems like the people at Daioh have it down.

Anyway, if it's worth it, maybe someone can let me know how to see it. Thanks

The most recent lei fei vs. akira clip (shinz is lei fei) was very worth it imo.

And yeah, any time an avi fails, most of the time it's cuz you lack the latest divx. They should wait a decent amount of time between divx releases /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif
www.divx.com/divx is the most direct link to what you need. First option is recommended.

 

In the evo_dvd_part1 clip DRE posted, Akira does his new DLC variation (to back turned bodycheck?) in a Shrm combo. If anyone hasn't seen it yet then check it out. It looks pretty cool but doesn't seem that useful as it probably requires a high float (it was done on pai with MC).

 

Actually, I don't think it's meant for a float /versus/images/icons/smile.gif. I had the chance to play with it before, and IMO it should be more used on the open(Not that this is very safe, but one can learn to mix it up with other stuff). The good thing about it is that Akira doesn't take much time getting into the BT position, which means he can probably use one of his BT moves, including the new BT body check, to beat opponents who would think he is exposed. Then when they catch on maybe some other things can be done to mix... /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

thanks for the help. installed the newest version (yeah, I guess since I installed one a few months back I didn't figure I'd have to do it again); everything worked nicely.

I guess the clips are nice and high-quality.

The play in that clip is pretty nice, but it seems like it's really early in the process of learing about Evo. Still, it's always nice to see the brothers play, they know each other so well.
