My bad. Yeah the knee throw... his knee is a generic floating knee, making him only the second character in the game to get to have one I think.

Re: More EVO updates...*yawn*

That was an excellent Jacky/Jeffrey. Looks like Jacky has moves that he can G-cancel? Was it just the skill of the players or were they not bothering with throw escapes? Both nailed the other with the same throws at least five times each. Entertaining.

I'm not sure. I think the jacky player was just performing the first hit of his lightning combination ([1][P]+[K]), hoping to force Jeffry into a standing position, and then attempting a throw.

Yet another update from this page: http://kotoni.hp.infoseek.co.jp/movi.htm

A Jacky vs Pai matchup....nothing special here except for the weird mask Pai is wearing.

It looks like tbzone is back up as well. There's a brad vs akira movie available:
http://www.tbzone.co.kr/vf4/
Just some basic akira stuff here, not too flashy. He makes good use of LBF sgpm and dblpm, while punishing TR's with DFS.

2 new clips at vfzone: http://vfevo.com
For some reason I can't get the direct link address to work in this post so you'll have to right click on the 2 clips on the bottom right side and "save target as".

I highly recommend maeb_01.wmv for Sarah users.

The Akira that the Sarah goes up against was very aggressive and in the first round she is all but dismissed by him. However, by making use of [6][K]+[G] (Spin Heel Sword) in the second and fourth rounds to curb the Akira's crouch dashing she chipped around 20% of his life ([6][K]+[G] normally hits for 30pts but in this case tallies around 40pts on a MC) on each occasion and on the second she followed through from it's force crouch property to [6][P] (Raising Elbow) Akira yet, she could have easily gone for the full [6][P][K] (Double Joint Butt).

I use to miss [1][K]+[G] (Which was the Side Hook Kick) for it's stopping ability and force crouch property but, it's poor recovery (-4 on a normal hit and +5 on a MC) was detrimental to it's effectiveness. Now I don't have [6][K]+[G] frame data but it seems to recover better and it's length and power certainly make up for it's predecessor in my opinion.

In the third round the Sarah demonstrates some effective control of the Flamingo to really put the pressure on the Akira. First by using [1][K]+[G][K] (Valkyrie Sword), capitalising on it's +4 frame advantage to catch Akira out with FL: [2][K]hit[P]+[G] (Hand Hold Neck Cut).

Though she was eventually knocked out of the Flamingo I must commend the Sarah player for applying the use of the [G] cancelled [6][P]+[K][P][K] (Storm Combination), [G] cancelling the kick doesn't reap any damage but in theory the shift to the Flamingo is near instantaneous. Yet, with the kick executing at 13 frames and roughly half that amount (lets say 7 frames, you must input [G] before she straightens her leg, which is quick) to [G] cancel it's a test of finger dexterity, at least, for Sarah users.

The third round concluded with FL: [8][P]+[K] (Side Neck Cut Sword) which gave Sarah the frame advantage to follow through with [3][K] (Cut-in Middle), which, while not guaranteed was fast enough (It's been reanimated in Evo, definitely better all-round just like her [K]) to crouch stagger Akira and finish him off with [3][P][K], FL: [8][K] (Setup Combination > Somersault Kick).

The forth round was average, Sarah won the match using one of her staple patterns: [6][P][P], [8][K]+[G] (Elbow Side Chop > Round Kick). All in all it was a good match, Sarah came back from a poor start to wrestle the game from a competent Akira by utilising the advantageous properties of the Flamingo combined with keen reactions to land some well placed throws and Hit-throws.

Of all the EVO characters I've seen, I definitely think Jeffrey's
gotten the best upgrade (Pai also). His speed is what impresses
me, at least as I've seen him played. He doesn't look like a
big slow goof anymore.

I agree 100%. IMO Jeff needs to be the "combo-oriented" heavyweight, while Wolf should be more focused on grappling. Nice to see that Pai has gotten a nice upgrade as well. She's got some new throws that fit her style quite well.

Aoi vs Goh
Good throw defense and fearless play by Aoi.

I'm definitely getting a Jeffrey jones these days. He has all these reanimated moves, plus some cool stuff like that down-from-his-shoetops spinning left hook thing that rocks. Makes ver C Jeff look as antiquated as a VF 1 model to VF 4...
