Phantasy Star Online was fantastic back on the Dreamcast but other than VF what I would most like is the return of Virtua Tennis. Tennis seems to have been booming in recent years yet tennis games have dried up for some reason. A game like Crazy Taxi doesn't make sense for a big announcement.

Maybe SEGA will announce multiple titles. Like the presentation SEGA did back in 2005, when they demonstrate VF5 for the first time.

To drive a company you need some of responsibility. If a stuff of people work on a game they expect money.

Sega is a private company that is obligated to pay money their employees.

No money, no work. No work, no game.

Another thing is the players count. What everyone can easily do is to introduce the VF to your friends. If the VF player count grow, money will come.
Of course, not everybody will play, but if one of 10 people that see the game will play. it's great progress.
Alternatively, we can cheat (if we have such affordance) and buy 10 copies of VF or 100 or even 1000.
Sega will have money and see people are interested. But it's wrong direction. Because tournaments would have a few people, same for online, etc.
And We need more people, and best way to do it is to show your homies VF.
