If it was a good game Eddy would not be better than Christie and Christie would have differant moves not just differant hitboxes.

Um... Only the T5 DR and Tekken 6 bosses look like big crazy demons. I guess you can maybe classify True Ogre from TTT, but he's no where near the level of the DR and T6 bosses.

And since when do you save the world in a Tekken ending? Maybe I just don't pay close enough attention to the storyline?

Um... no. Tekken and VF have two COMPLETELY different combat systems. Even from the basic button layout, one has a block button and the other doesn't. That alone makes a HUGE difference to people.

Which Tekken has a super dragon punch super combo? And if you're referring to SF, there's no need to because Tekken outsells SF.

I earn a living playing video games, but not all of the money comes from competitive play. But what does that have to do with Tekken vs. VF?

So in a game that's arguably the most balanced competitive fighting game currently being played; one that has a huge 40 character roster... the fact that two characters are clones with different throws and hit boxes making one better than the other, it's suddenly not a good game?

    Wow... just wow.

GameFAQs? So stating what many competitive players consider to be near fact I'm called a GameFAQs poster? Have you even played BR or talked to any of the top players? It's an extremely balanced game, especially with a 40 character roster.

I've personally run two BR tournaments that were won by characters that aren't considered top tier. One tournament was even won by a low tier character, and a vast majority of the players in both tournaments are considered some of the best in the US.

Bullshit. And if you're referring to Tekken 6, there's no need to because it's not even out yet :p

I can't imagine Tekken outselling Streetfighter either... then again I don't know why it matters either.

Wtf happened in this thread [IMG]

    Hi Dr.Dogg

My name is matteo, nice to meet you man.

I see that you been holding tekken tournaments, and that you are a tekken fan, and that you are posting on VFDC about tekken. while you here, why dont we exchange GT? mine is ses1mf1, im unemployed now and i can play you most days.

however I bet you are not going to play me. I bet you are just here trolling and not really adding anything to this site anymore.

I KNOW TEKKEN 6 IS GOING TO SELL SHITLOADS,

I KNOW VF SELLS LIKE CRAP

still, I am a member of VFDC because I prefer VF to Tekken.
could you please explain to me what makes Tekken a better game? please dont tell me because its got more people playing it, like Markman said on neogaf, because if so I will tell you that other games sell even better than TK and we are going to be trolling each other forever,

thank you for giving me the opportunity to troll you personally,

    yours,

    Matti

I'm pretty sure you already know that sales doesn't necessarily relate to quality.

In VF's case (in EU at least) lack of competition does make it hard. There's no one for the people that are interested to play, so they lose interest and find other games where there's actual competition.

It's a vicious cycle and it are sad [IMG]

No one was saying Tekken was better than VF. They're both good games, just different from each other. The problem is that the VF community can't come to terms with the fact that Namco has suddenly created a balanced fighting game. Most of the VF fanboys here are still stuck in the past when VF2 > Tekken 2, and have cling to the shaky belief that Namco would never improve.

Well, they did. No one's said that VF5R sucks, because it doesn't, but Namco too have made a great game, and because they made sure there was interesting extras for casuals, plus the balance that the hardcore players wanted, T6 is going to sell like crazy.

I've said it before: VF's failure is not Tekken's fault. It's like blaming Manny Pacquiao for Ricky Hatton's loss because he did more, worked harder. VF's collapse is entirely Sega's fault, period.

you said it before? maybe I was busy with other things and I didnt have the opportunity to troll you properly, but worry not, I will troll you now my friend.

VF failure? define failure my friend. If a failure is a game that 2 years on still hasnt been bettered in terms of graphics or online play, then failure is sweet man.

If on the other had you are more interested in playing with ramdom competition online, then maybe you should play more SF4 or Smash Bros.

The only way VF would fail is if it ever played worse than Tekken, but it doesent. VF5 is by far the best fighting game out, and believe me, because I would not be playing it right now if something better came my way after Sega fucked me up

DrDogg, one thing you've got to understand about some members of this site is that VF is so good, that they might end up hating on every other fighting game regardless of it's any good or not. Cause quite frankly, VF really is that damn good. Weak, I know, but that's just how some people are especially when put into defensive mode.

That goes without saying that there are plenty of us that play other fighters and try them out too. I look very much forward to T6BR - Steve or Nina.

I'll be getting T6BR for sure. What I've learned in VF will transfer over to that better than it would the 2d fighters (though I'll be getting into them too), there'll be plenty of competition too and the extras look excellent.

I'm not that hopeful about it's gameplay though. The things I didn't like about T5 seem to have gotten even worse and some of the top players here who've been playing it in the arcade have said it's a bit rubbish. I'll still give the game a fair chance though.
