the voice was really hard to understand this time because the music is too loud. I suggest you to put the music game lower for future tutorials.

Now that this thread has served it's purpose of gauging interest, is there any way to delete it so I can create a proper thread in which to post the tutorials?

    Hi DigitlSamurai,

Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial.

If I may make a few more suggestions?

    a) I think maybe you could've displayed your inputs instead of advanced data as that would've been more relevant to the tutorial. (you don't have to display anything at all)

    b) I felt that evades/throws could've been split into two or even three tutorials? Because the concepts felt rushed and leaves some questions unanswered. It felt like an incomplete video. For example, a learner may have the following questions: why use an evade when you can guard? What happens if you fail - too early? too late? In your example, why do you have to evade Jacky's kick in that direction? What visual clues will help you (big arrows?) - more importantly where can I find out more information about which direction I can evade? I'm afraid you will have to spell everything out. Assume the viewer knows nothing about the current subject at all.

    c) I got a little confused when you said "4 throw". I was thinking, what the hells a for throw? forward? then you said "6" and I was like, oh right! I think maybe when talking about directions, just say "towards", or away or facing, etc...? What do other people think?

    d) In your next tutorial, you're discussing mix-ups, unsafe moves AND situational awareness. I appreciate your enthusiasm to get as much information to people asap. But those are quite deep and different? Can you make each tutorial focus on a single subject? I think a 3-5 minute video on one concept is going to be easier for learners to digest rather than a 3-5 minute video on 3 concepts.

I hope my comments don't come across as an attack on your work. It's not. I think what you're doing is great. You're putting your time and effort to give something to the community whilst I've done zero. So I do wish you with every success with this - if you disagree with me that's fine. If you think I'm being over the top with my suggestions just tell me to shut up.

These are all good points. To be honest I never thought of any of the things you mentioned. I will cover them before moving on to anything else, but I might have to do so as an added section to the current video.

Hey man, I watched this last night and I think I agree with Cheeky. Evading seems to be quite a delicate subject so it perhaps needs more time. In particular the follow up from evading needs some conversation. I know from experience that evading is not as straight forward as just sidestepping and attacking/throwing straight away as you would in Tekken. Perhaps discussion on moves that track and how that works but mainly the best routes to follow up if you evade successfully.

Throws always could go into more detail with ground/crouch throws etc and the relevant escapes.

Also changing the display type to inputs would be a quick win since it wouldn't need much effort from you and would be so much more useful than the advanced data (unless you are actually discussing advantage/disadvantage).

But I thought it was very good so keep it coming!:)

I hope to have the next one up some time today. Tomorrow at the very latest. I just need to record a few more lines of dialog and edit the footage to match the timing with what I'm saying.

This one is going to detail the things I should have mentioned last episode.

    Thank you.

I don't really understand what you meant by the quote though. Do you mean the voice was still too quiet in the most recent episode? If so I can adjust and re-upload it.

No tutorial this week. Going to have company over the weekend and it'll be too noisy to record audio.

The next episode will be about mixups and possibly the concept of yomi (not sure if the latter is too advanced). Any suggestions for things I may not have thought of that I should be sure to mention?

I think you're doing very well at the moment. Just remember to check the bgm is not so loud that your voice is competing with it. I think to help you choose what to include in your tutorials, you can ask yourself - "who am I making these for?" ultimately, if you are tailoring it to your intended audience, then it should work out fine. Be sure to check your work too, no point rushing it out the door when you think afterwards "oh! I should've said it this way" or "maybe i should've talked about this first".

i do think asking for feedback is a good way to see how well received it was and what improvements could be made to make it even better.

Keep up the good work. :)

As of now, I'm planning to record the next episode over the weekend. Hopefully it'll be up early next week.
