Aoi pisses me off, for some reason I can't do from Tenchi stance, wouldn't think that move would be that hard to do. I still haven't gotten it, anyone know what's with that move? Does the punch only come out if you dodge someone and are in hitting range?

The command is just [P], not [2][P]. The way to do it is just go into YY, then press [8] or [2] to evade and then [P] right afterwards.

No, it had frame loss that was certainly noticeable.

I can't remember a time ever when I though that the PS2 version of VF4 ver. C ever slowed down past what I would think to be 55 framer per second, if ever at that. From what I observed there was little to no slowdown in ver. C at all.

In Evo, there is considerably noticeable slowdown, most likely on account of the Anti-Aliasing for the most part, on top of the already tasking visuals that the PS2 must render. I mean, Lau's stage, with the rain, reflections, and AA, there is not enough slowdown to complain about, especially during matches.

Do you have a specifica instance of ver. C dropping frames, because during gameplay it was always a perfect 60FPS for me? /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It runs at a rock solid 60fps...just like evo.

Then I'd like for you to explain the times when I'm on Lei Fei's stage, fall off the edge and see noticeable frameskipping. I had to cheat Evo to get it to skip any frames ever, and that involved the training mode glitch.

"fall off the edge and see noticeable frameskipping"

And that affects the gameplay?...It doesn't really concern me what happens when you fall off of lei-fei's stage. In fight, vf4c has no slowdown.

Are you referring to the glitch where the actual frames of character animation are skipped when the exit a ring at an awkward angle, or during an odd move's execution? Because from what I can tell (again this is all speculation), even when the game skips the frames of the charcters animation, the background, and environment still look to be running at 60 frames per second, which would not be considered slowdown, in the traditional sense at least.

If you need proof of slowdown, just start up Evo, and watch the game carefully as the camera pans around the stage pre-fight, it depends on the stage, but on some stages, the slowdown is highly noticable, but almost immediately stops once actual gameplay is initiated. So how does this affect gameplay, not at all from my standing, as the game while a fight is occuring, is running at a smooth 60fps, as opposed to the -60 frames when the players are not fighting.

From what I can tell, Evo skips (alot) more than VF4 ver. C did, for all versions.

That's just becuse they are still loading data during the pre-fight sequence. VF4 did the same thing but it wasn't as noticeable by most people. Hell, if you want to count that as slowdown then go into edit file in VF4 and change anything about your character. You'll see it jitter far more and worse than Evo ever does.

No, VF4 did not have slowdown that affected gameplay (well, usually, there was always the odd PS2 hiccuping thing) nor does Evo. He simply said that VF4 didn't have frame loss and ran at 60fps all the time, which is untrue. Not even Evo does that. Hell, no game I've seen does that unless it's a PC game that's old and running on a very high-end machine.

I was suppose to be getting my copy of evo today but with the stupid blackout /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif their aren't any stores open that would have it. It feels like an eternity waiting for this damn game to come out.

I'm from England and we've had it for a while. I knew it was meant to come out later in the U.S. or something but I thought everywhere had it by now.

Nah, it was just weird because we're usually last in line for Japanese games so it surprised me to read what you were saying.

Serves you right for getting Final Fantasy before us though /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I was suprised too. I understood that Japan would get it way before us, but USA was the obvious second choice...A lot more people would buy the game if school didnt start in two weeks.

After hearing that so many people couldn't find copies, I'm surprised that I got one on Thursday. I went to EB at about 6 pm, and I got one of the 3 copies that were left. I've been playing it almost non-stop ever since. Since I went to EB first, I didn't bother to check if Software Etc. or Best Buy had any copies.
