I like the laid back style of delivery in Bizzle's flow. Although I don't think the beat of "Delivery" is all that special, it is still solid and certainly fits the mood of the song. Quality track.

I'm not too much into the Southern vibe style of production, but I think that Trip Lee track "No Worries" is pretty hype. I could get down with bumping that one loud in the stereo as well as in my car.

Heh, I see we have a few hardcore metal heads in here. I mean, videos from Theocracy, Arch Enemy and The Agonist? There are groups who people wouldn't expect to get much play on radio or on MTV/VH1. Anyway, they're all rockin' it from what I hear and see from those videos. I have to admit I liked "Nemesis" the most out of this group of video clips. There's something extremely catchy about that particular track that I just can't explain -- especially during the first two minutes of it. I've never been a huge fan of listening to tracks that are lyrically centered on religion, but I do make exceptions if the instrumentals are bangin', which is the case for all of them. Thanks for sharing, guys.

And I find Arch Enemy's frontwoman Angela Gossow growling in that video Plague posted disturbing yet fascinating at the same time. LOL... is that even possible?

Some useful stuff right there, i've viewed a lot of vids like this on youtube and not many folk seem to know what they're actually doing ...nevermind getting it across to the viewers.

She had some good info and techniques though [IMG]

EDIT: I had to go and listen to this straight after viewing that workshop vid ...

Okay... whoever that vocalist is for Opeth might have the deepest growl I've ever heard.

I like how this band switches up the tempo throughout the "Heir Apparent" track. It's probably done to symbolize mood swings or something along those lines. Whatever the case may be, the tempo changes are executed well.

I personally don't listen to the growl or scream type of stuff. Even if the lyrics are good/positive. It's just too hard for me to get into, even though the instrumentals are dope. I just posted that for Sudden and whoever else likes that kind of stuff. Though I probably shouldn't have since i'm just feeding the fire.

I'm sure some of yall know Jin, the battle MC. He recently switched his subject matter up to the positive side which is dope (to me). I always thought the was cold at battling, but never really liked his CD music. But i'm really feelin his new stuff though. I'll just post one from each EP, hard cause I like em all.

As far as hip-hop music is concerned, I will always appreciate artists who come from the heart when putting out their music, no matter if he's portraying the image of a battle rhymer, a conscious rapper, a gangster/hood cat, a pimp, a player... whatever. My only criteria when listening to hip-hop is that the person has to display some talent and skill in their product and not resort to putting out cookie-cutter imitation material that's been done millions of times and does not stand out under its own merit in any way.

For an example, one of the greatest MCs of all time, KRS-One, has straddled the battle rhymer-conscious rapper image boundary for over 25 years and people dog him for that, calling him "contradictory." However, I've looked at this as a sign of him displaying versatility since kicking battle rhymes has been a staple of hip-hop since the early 1980s. And believe it or not, he can still take out at least 90% of MCs in this current generation in a battle today.

So to relate the KRS example to my point, I have absolutely no problem with what image Jin wants to present himself in his music as long as he stays true to himself and not switch up their style only to capitalize on a recent trend or fad. In fact, I have to give Jin a ton of credit for becoming a more socially and politically conscious rapper since the image he's now become essentially makes him a turnoff for A&Rs of major record labels. That image would be much harder for the corporate leeches to sell/market/promote (pimp) him and eventually get creative control over.

As far as the videos posted above... "I Tried" is very good. I like that one a lot.

And although I'm not really feeling the beat of "Just Music," I can tell the aim and intentions of the track. It does a good job of setting the mood.

Holy smokes! That Hiromi chick is nice on the piano! It's worth the price of admission just to see her get after it solo style.

And "Return of the Mack" is the jam. That song used to get a hell of a lot of radio and video play in the US during the mid to late 1990s.

When Mark Morrison was arrested and sentenced to however many hours of community service, he allegedly hired a lookalike to do it for him.

I had to post one of the jams I bumped a lot while in high school. This is around the time quite a few hip-hop artists were on the James Bond spy theme. However, Special Ed had his own way of kicking it with "The Mission." This track is a timeless classic, and the video is still hilarious.

Here you go Cozby. This is definitely one of Pac's best tracks.

Hey DrFamilia, That's a pretty good song from the Jay-Z-Kanye West duo. But I find it hard to get into Kanye's style of production. Much of his material is just so "ehh" to me. I'm not saying that his stuff is bad because it's not that at all. As a matter of fact, he generally creates quality stuff that's respectable. But as far as my personal tastes goes... a lot of Kanye's stuff just doesn't hit me. Honestly, I don't think he's ever created a hype beat that excited me or an introspective emotional/soulful style tune that I've really felt.
